Karneval #5

Karneval, Vol. 5

Rate this book
When innocent country boy Nai sets foot in the sordid, cutthroat realm of the city, he might as well have painted a target on his own back. Kidnappers, murderers and desperados abound, waiting to take advantage of a boy guileless enough to believe blood is merely "red water". Nai is looking for a friend who has disappeared leaving only an I.D bracelet from the organisation named "Circus", the country?s supreme defence agency.

Alright, this time around I'm going to do a super quick review. Let's do the countdown, shall we?

1. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Akari and Hirato. *Coughs; smirks; waggles eyebrows* And that's all I'm sayin'.

2. Yanari is a wonderful character and one I can relate to quite a bit. His relationship with Nai is precious and I adored seeing him and Nai spending time together.

3. Tsukumo and Nai are precious! DX SHE CARES ABOUT HIM SO MUCH! HNNNNNNG!!! MY FEELS!

4. YOGI AND GAREKI! *SOBS 5EVER*

Let me rant a little here: I love this mangaka. I adore her. And I've already come to the conclusion that if I she's written any other manga, I'm tracking them down and reading them because she's just HNNNNNNNNNNNG! Perfect!!!!!! But she has this talent... this INFURIATING AND AMAAAAZING TALENT! ...where she just PULLS ON MY HEARTSTRINGS LIKE I'M A FREAKING PUPPET. Because: Every. Single. Time. that Gareki and Yogi are about to finally UNDERSTAND AND CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER ON A DEEPER LEVEL..........!

"YOINK!

SORRY, NOPE.

LOL~

*SKIPS OFF ON HER MERRY WAY*"

I SWEAR. I'M GOING TO DIE BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE TIME THAT YOGI'S FEELINGS ARE CLOSE TO BEING UNDERSTOOD BY GAREKI, SOME FREAKING WELL-PLANNED PREVIOUS THING COMES IN AND MESSES IT UP AND SFGSYFGUSKFISUGFIDFSLIUGFSF I CANNOT HANDLE THIS TORTURE! *Flips table!*

And contrary to the ranting above, I'm loving this manga so much and I go through it thinking to myself HNNNNG GAREKI TOTALLY DOESN'T KNOW HOW MUCH YOGI TRULY CARES ABOUT HIM AND HOW MUCH GAREKI AFFECTS HIM AND IF HE KNEW THEN SFBDSHGFBDGFDKYUGDDF

Totally. Worth it.

AHEM ANYWAY.

6. .......totally don't remember what I wanted to say for number six....

So I guess that's the end of my review! XD

OH WAIT.

6. Kiichi is hilarious and I love her.

7. Jiki is still a piece of shit.

THERE WE GO. ALL DONE~!

On to the next volume, my darlings~! 8D OFF WE GO!

Quick Review because I am lazy and I just want to get to the next volume already!

1. The story is really starting to heat up! We're finally going to get Karoku! The plot really has the reader hooked. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

2. Characters are just amazing! Awesome! Each one of the characters have developed so much since the beginning of the series. Yogi and Gareki's relationship continues to grow. And even though there's a lot of sadness happening, it's going to be worth it in the end because Gareki and Yogi will learn from it.

3. Artwork is amazing as usual. So fluid. So stunning. So perfect! I love this art style... especially all the fantastic clothes!

All in all, this is a great series and I cannot recommend it enough. <3

(Will do better review in the future. Don't feel like it right now.)

If karoku hurt my fav characters like nai, Gareki or yogi, I won't forgive him even if he is lie to them. That bratty rich girl should get out my face for while. The traitors behind the scenes among doctors - I think is Azana n the other unknown doctor is hiding n that's my guess n especially I'm curious what's inside the bag that Azana carry while he talk to dr.akari. I will read the next vol.6 - probably have the answer I need. Yanari will be helping nai n his friends to find karoku n started to get to know him well.

The action has slowed down a little bit, but I quite enjoy the character interactions. There are a few things that I actually like about each character. There is no one specific character that I dislike completely. Even Hirato, by the end, I start to like Hirato. Character interactions are still pretty good. A big battle/plot point is about to come up, so things are going to get interesting again soon. I just like this series overall. No real complaints about it.

Awesome. Following Nai about his life is an enjoyable thing to do. Although I do have to wonder if Karoku is a good or bad influence upon our little Niji hybrid. Yogi is still bringing us laughs with his childlike antics and we meet a child who acts like an adult. An interesting turn of events.

Just a note: I love this series so much, and the reading date I put here is the 2021 reread date (not my actual first time reading which was years ago) ✨
