I would have been ok with the hardcore nature of Debt Slave 1 even though it the sex scenes were truly gruesome in some parts that it had me squirming and not in a good way! What I couldn't tolerate was the poor writing. I found the narrative to be wooden, i.e. the author did more telling of the story as opposed to showing it. The dialogue was also stiff and, at times, had me laughing because no one would ever speak like some of the characters. I would say, read at your own risk only after considering whether you want to read a book with heavy doses of hardcore and graphic nonconsensual sex and and figuring out what your tolerance level for poorly written stories really is.

This was a very hard book for me to read. I wish it was ended differently only because i can bring myself to read another book to see her tortured. it could have been good if the story line had gone a different way.

even knowing this was a bdsm novel, it didn't quite prepare me for the brutal vulgarity of this book. it wasn't even so much bdsm as torture porn, which really turns me off. the premise of a debt slave could be interesting, but there was too little explanation, too much torture.

wow this book had so much going on it and some of the Hard BDSM in it was a little to much for me but the ending is what really ending wrong for me.
