What do you do when you've used up all your options and your life has fallen apart?
August, Sally, and Ryan have never met, but they have one thing in common: each has undergone a life-changing tragedy. Each is also searching for a way to start over, a place of healing or forgetfulness or new chances. And they all find themselves independently drawn to the unlikely town of Seven Pines, Montana.
Will the idyllic village be the refuge with the answers they seek, or will the town's own mysterious tragedy just raise more questions in their minds?
This book is called “Never Can Say Good - bye” by Robert Farrell Smith, August, Sally, and Ryan all have had some terrible things happen to them. Although they have never met before, they all end up in the small town of Seven Pines, Montana. The town of Seven Pines was named that because of the seven pines encircling and guarding (many citizens think) the town. However, now things are going wrong in the town. Each day or so, one of the pines is destroyed, and the citizens are falling apart. However, in this town August, Sally, and Ryan are able to put their pasts behind them and find themselves. My favorite character is Ryan because he was nice and was really funny but my least favorite character was Sally because she was really scared a lot that something bad would happen and wouldn't be brave sometimes. This book was kind of confusing at first because Smith was telling three different stories at once, but I really liked the surprise at the end and the happy ending, my favorite quote from this book “marked laughed as if Sally said something funny” this quote was funny and good because Mark didn’t know if Sally was joking or not.

august, ryan, and Sally are all running away from what is happening in their lifes to find something else. August wants to run away from being honest and getting attatched to someone who can potentially hurt him through his caring. Ryan is running away from the guilt that is eating at him. He is responsible for his best friend being in a coma and not being on a mission. Sally is running away from the fear of being sick and her life ending too soon. All come together in seven pines montana. They meet Candyl and she helps them stop running and face life as she learns to do the same with a secret she has been keeping herself.
This book was all over the place. I picked it up because one of my kids was sick and I had a lot of sitting time. I got far enought into it that I wondered what was going to happen. It never got better.
but they're still good to read. this one was pretty good, I guess the first one of his that you read is the best, but i hadn't read one in a while so it was ALMOST like a new story to me. very entertaining and....uh....crunchy. ;D
I don't think this book even deserves 1 star. I did not enjoy or even like it very much. It was about 3 people all having problems who ended up in this town in Montana. The town itself was not normal. For the most part I thought it kinda silly.
I thought this was an amazing Story of how 3 Unrelated people's Lives intersect and how though unforeseen Circumstances they are led to the Town of "Seven Pines" where they and the town itself are forever changed.
The citizens of Seven Pines, Montana open their arms to three newcomers--very friendly, and quirky people. It's peaceful surroundings are upset when, one-by-one, the seven pine trees surrounding the city are destroyed. The ending--you'll never believe who's behind it.
If you love quirky characters, Robert Smith's novels are full of them. Never Can Say Good-Bye has some great ones. I'm particularly fond of the librarian.
The first part of this book drove me nuts switching from character to character. The story was pretty good once the characters all came together. It was quirky, but entertaining.
Although not as good as "Trust Williams" trilogy. But, still a good read, although at times it was a bit disappointing. But, I always enjoy Robert Farrell Smith.
