This is an interesting anecdotal history of Toronto. Kilbourn has collected a series of essays, diary entries, letters, editorials and poems that tell the story of Toronto from its beginnings until 1975. I found the earlier bits most interesting. As the history moves into the 70s it is a bit too current to be covered properly. I would very much enjoy a follow up volume.
