This historical fiction book is set back from 1832 to the end of the end of the Civil War. A boy named Churchill when he was 14 years old he got a horse. His dad and friends decided to build a stable for his horse. His dad was putting the last shingle on when he started to slip. He yelled for help but he fell before any one could come. It priced a hole in his scull. He died right there. Luckily their nabors where rich and gave them a helper named Marcus Henry. In a year his mom maries him. But they senced a war was coming. The north of the states wants slaves to be illegal. The south wants to keep slaves to work. Churchill falls in love with a Native American named Susan. They where right a war came. Churchill asked Susan to marry him. Susan's brother went to war with Churchill and his brother. They fought so meany wars together they could not remember a lot of them. Will Churchill win the war? Will all thee boys return? Will Churchill return? Will he marie Susan? Read book to find out more!
