"God is looking for those who tremble at God's Word, who are so sensitive to the inconsistencies and entanglements of their sin that they are at a loss—the temptation is to be never at a loss in thought, word, in deed—God is looking for those at a loss"
was this written for a really specific audience of college students in the 1960s? sure are there a few dated references? sure is it initially a little hard to adjust to the formatting? sure but honestly never once did any of those become a hang-up to the richness that Seerveld presents page-after-page here—man does this still hit!!
Seerveld gave these chapel reflections at Trinity Christian College over the course of several years during the 1960's. They are grouped under various headings, Advent, Lent, Gospel, Psalms, etc. I liked some of the devotions more than others. The audience was students in the early 1960's so the book is dated, and I wonder if there are more current devotionals to appeal to today's readers.
