This (short) book was helpful, but written as if I were reading from a website about St. Augustine. Definitely not something I would've picked up to read unless it was alongside "Confessions". Still interesting enough and puts Augustine's works in context.

Very solid introduction to Augustine’s biography, background, and works. Although a bit heavy on the Neoplatonism of his thought at the expense of the genuinely scriptural influences, this is a helpful work for reviewing or introducing Augustine.

Pretty good but I found the biographical elements and philosophical elements got a bit muddled together. I would prefer a focus on one or the other, and probably will do further reading to better understand Augustine’s ideas

TIL: I am not interested in Christian theology.

The audiobook narrator’s very monotone voice certainly didn’t help…
