I’ve never really had a family outside of my friends, but that hasn’t stopped me from wanting one.
When I’m no closer to being with the man of my dreams, I decide there’s nothing stopping me from becoming a mom on my own.
I decide to do just that right after my best friend’s wedding.
As a final pre-pregnancy hurrah, I give myself permission to flirt with her brother during the festivities. He’s a grumpy mountain man who is only in town for the wedding. I’ve been in love with him forever, but he’s always been off limits.
After one incredible night together, we part ways. I assume for forever.
That is until I go in for my doctor’s appointment and find out I don’t need any help getting pregnant—I already am.
Now I have to figure out how I’m going to tell my best friend’s brother that I’m having his baby.
Could this be my chance to have everything I’ve ever wanted? Or will I end up more alone than ever?

A Baby for the Mountain Man de Kate Tilney
Argumento:
With no relationship prospects in sight, Sophie (h) sets out to conceive a child through artificial insemination but finds out she’s already pregnant during a ‘last one-night experience’ with Cliff (H), her best friend’s reclusive brother who only came to Seattle for his sister’s nuptials. Cliff isn’t looking for a relationship but keeps thinking about his night with Sophie and is surprised when she turns up in Alaska to see him. A sweet, unexpected baby, adult relationship romance with a little bit of heat and relationship angst.
For a short little novella this one packs a decent punch. It helps that the characters are not new to each other so there is no insta love involved. The main character has crushed on her best friend's brother since she can remember. I mean we've all been there, am I right? Personally my crush was short lived (thank God) but sometimes, those feelings, they just don't go away. In our wildest dreams this could be the outcome. Just go with it.
Sophie wants a baby and with no relationship and no prospect of it she goes the road alone... Until she finds out she is already pregnant by her last ONS with the reclusive Cliff. Cliff doesn't want a relationship but he can't forget the night with Sophie, so what happens when she finally arrives??!! Sweet, steamy, romantic with a sweet HEA 😍😍
I know it’s a short instalove story and it’s not meant to have much depth, but A Baby for the Mountain Man really stuck with the tired dynamic of a hopeless romantic girl and a man with a phobia to commitment.
Normally I’m willing to suspend my disbelief for the sake of a happily ever after, but in this case the circumstances of both the “hero” and “heroine” are just too realistic and yet unrealistic at the same time. Realistic in part of the one-night stand and going their separate ways and unrealistic in the sense of the “hero’s” 180-degree, come to Jesus moment that he is all of a sudden ready to commit and be a dad.
There’s just too much affection imbalance within the relationship itself for me to be able to believe that Cliff and Sophie would last long term. Sophie pined for Cliff leading up to her decision to get artificially inseminated, while Cliff had no thought for her at all prior to their little affair. This story was way too short to establish any sort of character growth and development. Which just leads me to believe that Cliff and Sophie’s story is happy for now instead of a happily ever after.
She is ready for a family....she just did not expect it the way it happened
A Baby for the Mountain Man by Kate Tilney is part of the multi-author Be My Baby series. This story is about a woman who is ready to take matters into her own hands, or really the doctor's hands, but suddenly finds that she does not need to, all due to a passionate night with the grumpy brother of her best friend. Sophie Hart has always wanted a family but with no prospect on the horizon decides she needs to go the baby clinic way. She has her appointment all booked and is ready to do it but first she has to be in her best friend's wedding. Cliff Meadows had a high powered and big paying job in the city but found it was not for him. So he quit the job and moved to a cabin in the wilds of Alaska, away from everyone and all that stress. When his younger sister is getting married he knows he has to be there for her so he flies back home. What he was not expecting was to be drawn the the curvy woman that has grown up in the last five years into a woman that he wants to explore. He may be a grumpy mountain man but he is more than happy to jump into bed with Sophie. What neither was expecting was to get their own present from the wedding.....a baby bonus! But will they be able to have a future together with their very different lifestyles and places? I really enjoyed this book. It is a well written story, has an solid story-line with an interesting twist, and characters that you like.
'A Baby for the Mountain Man' is a different take on a typical one night stand story and I liked it! Just before Sophie went to the appointment to be a mom in her own way, she has one last hurrah with the guy she's been crushing on for years, Cliff, her best friend's brother… And of course fate intervened…
I found this story to be a fun, quick romantic read. I love the fresh take on a one night stand pregnancy and the grumpy/sunshine was perfect. My main issue is I want more!! I wish it was longer, so I could see more interactions with them and a bit more spice.
All in all, I really like this book ♥️
I think you will like this book if you enjoy grumpy/sunshine, best friend's brother, one night stand, baby surprise, and/or a quick read. 🙂.

Kate Tilney delivers the second book in the fabulous multi-author Be My Baby series with A Baby for the Mountain Man. Sophie has made up her mind to have a baby on her own via artificial insemination. But when she hooks up with her best friend's reclusive brother, Cliff, at her best friend's wedding, nature has other plans. Cliff retreated to the mountains of Alaska years ago and has no desire for more than a night, let alone marriage and family. However, he cannot pass up that night with Sophie when the opportunity arises. Will Cliff change his mind when he discovers that the night he cannot get out of his mind is going to make him a father? A sweet, steamy and swoon-worthy best friend's brother / surprise baby romance.

This is another wonderful story written by Kate Tilney and it’s a best friends brother, mountain man romance featuring Sophie and Cliff. She’s always been attracted to her best friends brother, but hasn't seen him for years. He visits for his sister’s wedding and is immediately infatuated with her. She’s been wanting a baby for forever and as there are no prospects for fatherhood she decides to go to the doctors. They have a one night together, she goes to the doctor, she’s told she's already pregnant. She decides to tell him, he behaves more or less like a man, no dramatic moments. That’s why they are both wonderful, likable characters and this book is lovely for it.

I absolutely loved this book! I haven't had the chance to really explore all the books out there, but I love that Kate Tilney took the plunge and wrote a book about a woman taking matters into her own hands to get the family she so desperately craves. A man might be nice, but not always needed. Sophie and Cliff though, they make such a good couple. Sophie is the understanding type of person that I think Cliff really needed to help him overcome the past pains and heartbreaks he experienced. I loved that while certain things he may have said in the heat of the moment might have been hurtful, she still gave him the chance to explain his knee-jerk reactions and didn't hold a grudge.

HEA Standalone, series collaboration by different authors Surprise baby from ONS, best friend's older brother *over 18 readers only*
Trigger warning Fake pregnancy past
Sophie (mfc) Cliff (mmc)
Sophie was all set to do the mom thing by herself. She did the things needed to get ready for IVF, then decided to have a ONS with her best friend's older brother whom she's been crushing on for years. What could possibly go wrong? Especially since he said he would never marry or have kids, oh, and he lives in Alaska? When she goes to tell him, things do not go well. She gets out of his truck and walks off, alone, in Alaska. Can he salvage this situation?
Not in a relationship and no boyfriend in sight, Sophie decides to become pregnant through artificial insemination. Cliff has returned to Seattle for his little sister’s wedding and sees Sophie for the first time in years. Cliff isn’t a believer in marriage or having a family but a night of fun might be just what the two are looking for. This was a fast paced read with plenty of steam. The characters seem like their at different t stages in their lives but when when a surprise pops up, Cliff realizes his past has jaded him and now what’s facing him, means more then any thing else in the world. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Cliff and Sofie turn up the heat in this intriguing story. She wants to have a baby, but it looks like her chances are slipping since she hasn't met the man of her dreams, so she decides to go it alone that is until she spends an intimate night with Cliff. When she goes to her doctor, she finds out that she is actually pregnant. Will she and Cliff get together and raise their child together? This story kept me glued to the pages with all of its drama!

This is wonderful best friends brother/mountain man romance, Sophie has always been attracted to her best friends brother, Cliff but hasn't seen him since he left everything and moved to Alaska. Cliff comes to town for his sister's wedding and is immediately taken with Sophie. Sophie has been wanting a baby to have a family of her own so when she goes to the doc and got told she's pregnant already was a bit of a shock for her. I really liked how she told Cliff about the pregnancy with no dramatic moments. Both Cliff and Sophie are wonderful likable characters.
I enjoy mountain men love stories. Cliff put himself in exile for something that happened in his past. Sophie, who has been his sisters best friend forever, wants more in her life. Cliff's sister is getting married so he returns home to give her away. He and Sophie have a connection, a one night stand. That's all it could be for him. Read what transpired, the scenery, the people, Winter's wedding. It all seemed so nice. I enjoyed this book a lot. Written by Cindy. :)
I think the blurb for this one was great with so much potential. I appreciated Sophie just moving forward on her own to get what she wanted, a baby. I get that Cliff had a bad experience with a previous girlfriend but his bitterness really bothered me. These two had pure steam and I loved their first time together but the HEA felt like too much for me when she came to him in Alaska. I didn't understand the easy forgiveness and straight up love talk.

This was a sweet story (with some steam, obviously). However, there were many, frequent grammatical errors and typos that made it difficult to stay focused on the story. There was also a scene with some inconsistencies where a couple paragraphs later it seemed like that part of the scene started over, which was confusing.
With good editing this could be a 4-star novella. There were genuine, relatable emotions. Even if I didn’t like every aspect of the story, everything was natural and believable.
I rate this 2.5 it was a fast and fun read I enjoyed it overall though did take a break cause my slump was like I don’t want to read this anymore and I took a nap and then decided I’ll finish it at least before I go to bed and I like I said overall enjoyed it and the characters because it was so short so the things I didn’t love were small a few things a character decided wasn’t my favorite but guess they made up and they had their reasons plus was resolved fast so didn’t dwell to much on it at least

Sophie has had a crush on Winter's brother, Cliff, for years. She's decided that life is passing her by, so she arranges to have ivf, she doesn't need a man! Cliff had a bad experience a few years back, which has put him off marriage and children. Sophie realises this and has no plans to change him. But the best laid plans!

Another cute addition to the Be My Baby series. Sofie has a dream of being a mom when she decides to embark on the journey to become a single mom. When she has a chance to experience a last hurrah before her adventure begins, she didn’t expect the one night to be more. What happens next is a cute and sweet romance read with great characters and an enjoyable storyline.
The cover of this mf caught my eye and I had been wanting a quick 1/2 hour read. This nice story fit the bill. I would have read a longer book after I read a few chapters. The h was written very nicely, no shrill or foolish woman here to ruin an mf. Sophie was clear thinking and talking, up front and fair with the baby daddy, Cliff. Not a lot of depth to this short novella, but the characters were nice and the story moved along, including a good steamy scene. I see that this is the same author of a shipwrecked mf series that I read a few years ago and all of them were surprisingly good. Kudos to the author.
Cliff and Sophie give us an almost perfect sibling's best friend, surprise baby love story. This book is short and sweet and so cute with so much chemistry. Sophie has had feelings for Cliff for so long. Her slow burn is fun to read. I really like the way they come together. I would like to hear more about Winter and maybe get an epilogue of Spphie and Cliff. Thank you to the author for an advance copy. This is my honest opinion.
Wowsa this book was absolutely fantastic and will have you enthralled from the beginning until end. Sophia picks her best friends brother the airport and when feelings come back for each other will cliff and Sophia get there chance at being !happy? Or will his past come between them? Great story and you will definitely connect with the characters emotions.

Sophie didn't have a family and her grandmother who raised her died when she was still in school. But her friend was there making sure she was part of her family. Winter was like a sister and they had known each other for years. Cliff Winters brother was Sophie's crush for years, but he left after their father died five years ago. Cliff comes back for his sister's wedding and he sleeps with Sophie. Great read😊😁 !
The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Sophie and Cliff and does not let go. The story keeps us turning the pages with forbidden desire, connection, unexpected consequences and steam.

This was a great best friend’s brother romance with a touch of surprise pregnancy thrown into the mix. The story was entertaining and well written. It had a great pace and a good intensity throughout. Cliff and Sophie had great chemistry and they were great together. I really enjoyed this story.

Sophie is excited that she's made the decision to have a baby and start a family. She never expected to connect with Cliff, the man she's loved for a long time who also happens to be her best friend's brother. Can this bachelor want the same thing she does or will he break her heart?
Loved the spin on this short novella of sort of surprise pregnancy. Enjoyed the main characters as they each have their own secrets, they just don’t realize just how much they may affect the other. Fun read of having one last big hurrah, only to find it may give Sophie and Cliff everything they never thought possible.

So much love! This story surprised me by how incredibly sweet and tender it is. Cliff and Sophie are such lovable characters and the chemistry and passion between them is so real that it's hard to put the book down.

Sophie has wanted a baby for a long time and starts fertility treatments. When she picks her best friends brother Cliff up, they have a crazy night. A week later, she finds out she is pregnant and her Mountain man is the father. I love how these two get the sweetest ending. I am always a huge fan of every book this author writes.
