Twin Destinies #1
Blood Song
When their great-grandmother Kaia, a world-famous harpist, dies, two sisters find themselves the heirs to twin harps, an ancient book of music, and a legacy that stretches back centuries.
Twins Camille and Kennerly have always been in tune with each other, but with the death of their great-grandmother, something has changed. Kennerly is plagued by headaches and nightmarish visions. Camille is hearing malevolent whispers when she plays the harp she inherited. There is no time to stop and figure out what is happening to each of them as they find themselves appearing at a conference in Savannah, Georgia. There they play concerts in mysterious and foreboding places such as the Colonial Park Cemetery after dark.
Music and the scent of blood fill the sultry air as each sister seeks to understand what is happening to her. A pair of charming and mysterious strangers pull them in opposite directions, but the twins are left to wonder if their motives are more sinister than romantic. One thing is certain, an ancient evil is haunting the streets and cemeteries of Savannah, preying on the innocent. They must discover the secrets of their ancestors and trust in each other as never before to defeat the evil that is stalking them because it won’t rest until one sister is his and the other is dead.

I was so enthralled with this novel like I haven’t been in quite a while. Loved the nonstop action and suspense, can’t wait for the sequel!

This book was first reviewed on Kurt's Frontier.
Synopsis:
When their Great-Grandmother Kaia dies, the twin sisters, Camille and Kennerly, become heirs to twin harps, an old book of music, and an ancient legacy. Camille and Kennerly already have a career as harpists, but now something has changed. Kennerly suffers from headaches and nightmares — or are they visions? In addition, Camille begins hearing malevolent whispers when she plays the harp she’s inherited. Unfortunately, they have little time to figure out what’s happening to them as they have a conference in Savannah, Georgia.
They meet two charming and mysterious strangers as they perform in the sultry air. The two men pull each twin in opposite directions. An ancient evil is haunting the streets and cemeteries of Savanah, preying on the innocent. They must wrestle to unlock the secrets of their ancestors, or one sister will be claimed by evil, and the other will die.
Review:
Twin Destinies: Blood Song is a companion novel to Camille and Kennerly Kitt’s album by the same name. By the way, Camille and Kennerly Kitt, while the heroines of this fantasy novel, are, indeed, actual, honest-to-goodness concert harpists.
The story opens with the twins attending the funeral of their great-grandmother, a famous Norwegian harpist named Kaia. Kaia had been following the two’s careers, and she had prepared an extraordinary inheritance for them: a pair of harps made from her own harp, a music book passed down through generations, and a legacy that will force them to confront evil. But, alas, time is short for them to grow into their new vocations as seers. They’ve agreed to play at a conference in Savannah, Georgia, and evil forces and death already stalk them.
For a companion novel, this story is quite good. The darkness and mystery are palatable, as is the French Silk Pie. Twins being drawn apart for the first time in their lives need to find their way back to confront the evil around them.

Occasionally, Real Person Fic is written with the consent and enthusiastic sponsorship of the Real Persons involved.
This's an urban fantasy commissioned by The Harp Twins, starring themselves as vampire hunters, in conjunction with one of their albums. I'd enjoyed their music, so I decided to try the book.
The plot gives us a tease of an interesting world and music magic, but little more than a tease - our protagonists here are brand new as vampire hunters, newly come into their music-magic powers, and still trying to find their way.
Unfortunately, it also suffers from one of the same problems I saw in my own early-draft fantasy novel from putting too much of myself in the protagonist: trying to compress a full real person onto the page makes them come out bland without many individual character traits visible. I think that this book being written by a commissioned author (rather than the twins themselves, who were understandably busy with music) made that worse.

Hi Friends,
As a fan and follower of Camille & Kennerly Kitt (aka the Harp Twins), I was intrigued by this joint project with author Debbie Viguié. And the book is a fun, slightly spooky tale that seems to pull out some of the personality of the twin harpists (following their IG page for Kennerly’s jokes makes the Kennerly on the page make sense).
It is a bit of fan fantasy, but the story is fun as a stand alone, and I certainly hope readers who aren’t already fans of the Harp Twins use this opportunity to check out these two talented young ladies and their music

I read this book in a day. vampires, Norse mythology, music, in modern day Savannah Georgia.
a few grammatical errors, only about 3.
I look forward to the next book.
Did I clock the Villain the moment he was introduced? Yes.
Did I figure out what Drake was before the characters did, also yes, but not right away.
what I LOVE is when things start changing, the twins support each other even when changes happen to one and not the other. AND they don't take forever to seek help and explanation from family for the inherited legacy.

not a huge fan o the twins but gave this a shot
The book was well written. Only a few grammatical errors. The storyline was interesting. The ending quite sudden. It kind of just fizzled out, when the scene seemed like it was set for something more.
I’m a harpist, and the twins just seem awkward to me on YouTube, with their twin swaying and their awkward model poses when they tell their silly dad jokes. Are they talented? Yes I think so. And I wish them all the success. But I tried to set it aside for the book and the storyline was interesting as I said.

A fun, spooky, magical tale of twin sisters who find out that they are heirs to a magical power and legacy after their grandmothers death. On a touring trip to Georgia their powers begin to awaken and they uncover mysterious deaths which are the result of a sinister creature that has now turned its attention to them.
It’s simple and straightforward but well done, and really just a good time. It combines a lot of my favorite tropes and elements. Vampires, twin sisters, magic, harps, and a touch of romance.
This book was done as a joint project with the Harp Twins. They wrote an album and Debbie wrote the book, and together they tell the story. Definitely recommend checking both out, and I’m hoping they’ll collaborate more in the future!

DNF. I skimmed most of the book and skipped to the ending. The locale was fun and the twins are a delight, just wrong book at the wrong time.

Really fun and entertaining read. Had the accompanying music by The Harp Twins playing, really made it immersive.

I've been a fan of the music of the Harp Twins (Camille and Kennerly Kitt) for a while. They have a unique talent- almost magical ability- with the harp: everything from traditional ballads to movie soundtracks to heavy metal. This fantasy novel imagines the Twins as seers, inheriting supernatural abilities from their great-grandmother, and along with those powers, supernatural enemies. The idea of making the Harp Twins vampire hunters is beyond brilliant and results in a stupendously fun story. I really liked how author Debbie Viguié wove the real Twins that we see and hear in their videos into their fictional counterparts. The inclusion of lyrics from the companion album into the story (most memorably Spooky Savannah, Catacombs, and Dueling Sisters) was also a lot of fun. It would probably be essential to be familiar with the Harp Twins' music before reading the book, or better still, to listen to the album while reading (as the Twins themselves suggest).

Fun Fantasy Reading
Enjoyed the story. Twists and turns. It is a quick read. If you play harp ‘this is even a better read!
