Caspar Willard "Cap" Weinberger was an American politician and Secretary of Defense under President Ronald Reagan from January 21, 1981, until November 23, 1987, making him the third longest-serving defense secretary to date, after Robert McNamara and Donald Rumsfeld. He is also known for his role in the Strategic Defense Initiative program.

It's an interesting look at some strategic thinking in 1980's foreign and defense policy, nut it is obviously what it looks like, a book written by a former government official for it's own sake, nothing more or less. He isn't an unusually good writer the way a few in his position is, nor does he go especially deep. But you get what you would expect. I especially thought his discussion of Iran was interesting.
