This was more of a 2.5 star book. The storyline was better compared to Hot Summer but it lost the half poky star because of the hot and cold nature of our MCs. There relationship bordered on toxic sometimes and the things said and done was really questionable. I wish I could have given this book more especially since it didn’t throw the whole kitchen sink at the characters by the end and make unrealistic promises. Oh well. Better luck next time.

Happy Reading

BRIEF SUMMARY
Lisa is the director of sales at a corporation in Jamaica. She is then introduced to Rod, the VP executive who is visiting from New York. Rod is at the company to help clean up sales. Both will bump heads as they explore their attraction.

THOUGHTS
I really loved that this story took place in Jamaica, in a corporate setting and not at a resort. The author gave us a setting that had us exploring Jamaica, as both characters traveled throughout the town on business and as well as personal. The author even gave us a few Jamaican dialect a few times throughout the story, that I found enjoyable.

I found both main characters to be interesting as well as the other characters the author gave us along with their storylines. I have to admit, there were many different plots within the story that I was not expecting. Nevertheless, they were good and some with meaning behind it.

Where my interest declined, was the chemistry between Rod and Lisa midway through the book. This was lengthy book of 7541 in kindle format, so I needed that chemistry to keep me going. Their chemistry finally came through for me but the progress of it was not to my liking.

Though this is my opinion, read it and see if you share the same opinion.

Storyline: GOOD
Enjoyment: FAIR

The opening paragraph of the book was very hot, so I thought this book was going to be really good, but it turned out to be just ok. Something was just missing between Rod and Lisa. They seemed to have strong feelings for one another, but I think a lot of the chemistry was missing between these two. The storyline was good, and it kept me interested, but I need that extra chemistry between these two, and a lot less disagreements. With that being said, I though the author made a good effort, and this was not a bad first read for me. I would definitely try out her work again.

I really enjoyed this book. There were many different storylines that played out through the book and the author did a good job keeping everything straight.

Lisa is a Sales Director for the Jamaican division of an international company based in New York. After a year of less than desirable sales volume, the New York big wigs send in Rod, an executive, to evaluate Lisa's branch of the company. When Rod says "layoffs," Lisa goes into defense mode. These employees are her responsibility and she makes a deal with Rod to turn sales around in a specific period of time and he agrees.

In the meantime, Rod and Lisa become close and they each war within themselves on the relationship that is forming.

Intertwined with the main story of Sales and Romance is the fact that Lisa also has commitments with the AIDS hospice where she is a committee member and Rod tries to find his father; the father that didn't know had a son. The AIDS hospice actually is threaded throughout the book and is a nice situation that ties some of the book together.

When New York decides that Lisa's strategies aren't sustainable and that layoffs must by done, Rod forces Lisa to go to New York and plead her case, in person. While there she receives news from the CEO of the company that Rod has been made President of international operations and would be soon heading to Russia. The pages that follow had me in tears. I felt Lisa's despair, confusion, and disappointment. Are Rod and Lisa meant to be together? You'll have to read the book cuz I'll never tell.

This book contains "adult scenes."

Took me three days to read this book when it should of took me one. They obviously had some kind of chemistry, but gosh was it boring. Seriously... I was bored..and was she suppose to be Hot Chocolate...then why have white chocolate on the cover!!

I loved that it was in a corporate setting and the author delved into the Jamaican burbs, but that is really all I liked.
