My 18-mo-old son liked looking at all the great pictures, and there were a lot of animals in there that I didn't know the names of. I only give it two stars, though, because this book is obviously meant to teach about mammals, and I thought the information wasn't organized very well. Though I didn't read most of the explanations or interesting facts, (my son only spends so much time per page) most of the time, if he pointed to a picture asking about what it is, and if I didn't know, I had to read the entire paragraph to find out. I like the newer eyewitness mammal book better because they usually have a very brief, italicized title telling you the name of the animal and briefly the notable thing about what they are doing. Some of the paragraphs didn't even mention the animal, only a feature about it. Anyway, I found it frustrating and will try to find the newer style of eyewitness books in the future.
