May 3, 2023DNF at 40%. I don’t rate my unfinished reads because I think it’s unfair to the author but here are my thoughts on what I read.
Selena has always been my go to author. She’s flawless with her dark romance. But this was … not it. The instalove.. where you ask someone to marry you before you even know their name.. is creepy as hell. It wasn’t cute. The characters had no connection. No spark. It was going way too fast and I lost all connection and zero emotion between characters.
It was so hard to read without cringing.
I had to return my ARC on Booksprout because I just couldn’t finish.
I want to scream from the rooftops that everyone needs to try her other books though because I’m a die hard fan of her darker romance and will always recommend this author otherwise.

I found the story to be boring. The heroine did not seem like someone I would want to know and was boring. She at first plays hard to get but only for like 3 chapters than she is all over him. I liked the guy but out of all Selena’s hero’s he was my least favorite. Maybe I just only like her dark romance. I just found the timeline of the story and the fact she has to think about joining the biggest rock band when that is all she wants incredibly unrealistic.

If you want a fast safe love story but with the hero immediately just wants to be with the heroine and marry her, then read this book😆😆 But weirdly i love this book though and i love that fast romance with the quick “marry me cause I can’t stop thinking about you” 😆🤣 ESPECIALLY WHEN WHEN THE HERO SAW THE HEROINE FOR THE FIRST TIME, BOOM. HE WENT AFTER HER SOOO BAD AND CHASE HER AND EVEN CLAIMED HERSELF IS A “GODDESS” 🥺❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

She also at the time have a boyfriend but immediately broke up after she saw him cheated on her.
‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS CRAZY INSANELY IN LOVE WITH THE HEROINE…. HE IS ADDICTED AND OBSESSED.

‼️‼️‼️Their chemistry is freakin amazing. I was amazed when I read this quick love story, that there’s great chemistry and also the hero even give the heroine a big spa day. Even given her many flowers… And give her a amazing date night ever🥺 Yes! Seriously the author is amazing to write this master piece.

‼️‼️‼️The heroine joined the band of the hero but for some time the heroine was there, the hero never ever touch another woman and just made it clear that he is serious about wanting only her. I’m glad I don’t see any annoying groupies or annoying staff members that likes to do annoying things to the couple. Like the main focus was the band and the couple.

Love this author but this story fell short for me. While I realize it was a short one so the storyline had to move quick, I just didn’t vibe with the characters. And let me say, I LOVE rockstar characters!!

I thought this a quick-paced novella. Adrian fell for Valentina at first glance though she thought he was unstable. They have good chemistry but the story felt a little off for me.

Untouchable Face by Selena is an insta-love rockstar romance. It was completely different from what I'm used to reading by Selena (not nearly as dark as some of her other books). It felt rushed (it only takes a couple of hours to read), and there wasn't a whole lot of substance to the story, so it was just okay to me.

This was a 3.5 for me. I think the premise was a good one and the story wasn't too bad but for me I was just not a huge fan of the MCs personally though they weren't too bad separately I just didn't feel their chemistry. Now this is a novella so I get there isn't a lot of pages to accomplish things so that is a factor of course but there was enough in this book to make me curious about the author enough that I wanted to try out some of her other works.
For the characters I liked the idea of that Adrian fell hard first but some of the over-the-top things he was doing were for his benefit rather than hers. Don't get me wrong I read a lot of dark dark romances but a lot of the time a lot of those things benefit the FMC in some way even if it's a small way while this seemed to be he was going off what he thought she wanted and what he needed rather than her needs. With Valentina while she wants to be a rock star it just never seemed like she was excited about anything. Like I get there is a crazy famous drummer guy who asked her to marry her overshadowing things, but it just never seemed like her life's passion to be a rockstar like her fellow band mates were.
Again, the premise was interesting, and the plot wasn't too bad for a novella that has some limitations, but I just personally didn't vibe with the characters and their chemistry. But I am intrigued enough to want to try a full-length book by this author.

She can't get the moment out of her head, and she is further surprised when the next day he shows up at her house with the offer to have her play in their bank for the next leg of their tour. What an amazing opportunity to play with one of the biggest bands in the world. But that wasn't his only offer. He followed up the job offer with a marriage proposal all before he even knew her name! She knew rockstars were a little crazy but even this is a bit much, but she can't turn down this amazing opportunity, so she signs on the dotted line. Now she just has to get through the next 6 weeks with a rockstar who can't seem to leave her alone with his proclamations of love.

If you are a long-time reader of author Selena’s books, you are familiar with the Faulkner universe. “Untouchable Face” is standalone, but there’s no need to read the other books. Let me preface that I avoid reading any rockstar or celebrity romances. It’s not something I’m drawn to, but Selena’s name was attached to this - so I was all over it!
Valentina (FMC) is starting her music career as a keyboardist but suddenly finds an opportunity - albeit temporarily - to join up with one of the hottest bands to tour with. Adrian (MMC), the drummer of the band, is immediately drawn to Valentina when he sees her. So you have a guy who falls first romance with “Untouchable Face” plus an instant attraction, and Valentina is struggling to be sensible. However, Adrian will do anything to convince Valentina that he is the one for her. Readers will see how their insta-love evolves and the interferences that impact the relationship that they are trying to have as rock musicians.
“Untouchable Face” is not dark like Selena’s other books but is still steamy. It wasn’t what I expected but entertaining for a non-rockstar romance reader like me.

Beware this is very instalove (and I’m totally here for that! 😅). This is one of those fantasies you have about your favorite celebrity seeing you and instantly falling in love with you (hellooo, Jamie Dornan! 😂😜). Valentina is the lucky girl who experiences this. The drummer of ‘the world’s most famous rock band’ sees her and instantly falls in love. He goes as far as asking her to marry him the first time he meets her.
I know this is all very unrealistic, but that’s why I read books! An escape from real life, something to make me feel good and this book did just that. Of course there is a little drama (BUT not from groupies or OW/OM!). The spice between these two was so freaking hot. My gawwdddd, Adrian knows how to please his woman ( I meannn the ice cube and whiskey scene *fans herself*).
So, all in all this book was nothing too complex, but I really enjoyed it for what it was! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Untouchable Face is standalone set in SELENA's world of Faulkner, Arkansas. Unlike her other works, that I am a huge fan of, this one is short (ok). light, too light, considering the genre, and a bit contrived.
I could say 'talk about love at first sight', but it didn't felt like it. Everything was too fast, too sudden, too furious.
It's a well written story and there goes all of my rating, but I wanted character development, internal and external conflict, a journey of a couple with different experiences, similarities and a way to a common ground.
Valentina and Adrian were very dissimilar even though they were part of bands and knew the architecture of being musicians, but at an divergent level. He had the status, she didn't, and even Crimson's frisson wasn't enough to create a justifiable convoluted atmosphere.
Do I think this could've gone in another direction to be a great rockstar romance?
Absolutely.
The elements were there, they just needed structure, growth and intricacy.

Valentina and her band are in a competition to win being signed to a label. Just before she starts to play the keys she notices Adrian Hart staring at her, he’s the famous drummer for Iron Thorns and she can’t look away from his gorgeous face. The next part had me laughing out loud. He goes completely nuts over this girl. He tracks her down, goes to her house and asks her to marry him. She thought he was there because her band won the contest, they didn’t. He then asked her to join his band, and the crazy proposal. He loves that he’s a big deal but not a big deal to her and all he wants is to be a big deal to her. I swear I’m not sure how old he is but I find his craziness so sweet and childlike. I love that Adrian is romantic, I mean really romantic. It’s a nice story and I enjoyed reading it. I’m giving this book four stars and I recommend it.

This is a fast paced, insta love, older man younger woman, rock star romance. It is still set in Faulkner but is a complete standalone and you do not need to have read any other books by Selena to enjoy this. It is completely different from all Selena other books. This is sunshine whereas the others are dark.
We have Adrian who is in the band Iron Hearts and Valentina who catches his eye. He literally takes one look at her and his stalker mode switches on. He needs her and knows that she is the one. He will stop at nothing to make her his. It's fast paced, short and sweet with some spice. Adrian is very over the top but I really enjoyed it. It was something very different from what Selena normally writes. I hope we get some other stories from some of the other band members!

This was a great storyline and I enjoyed both Adriane and Valentina, as well as the peripheral characters. I hope there are more books coming out from this group. There was a good amount of drama and there were some really nice spicy scenes. I loved how strong Valentina was and how in love Adriane was. I'm not really sure what the title means, though? My only reason for giving this 3.5 stars is that it didn't flow as well as Selena's other books. For me, it had a very slow start and didn't "grab" me until quite a way through the story. If this is your first time seeing this title, just know that its nothing like Selena's dark romances. That being said, the story is within the Faulkner-verse yet not related to any past characters.
I think what kept me interested in Untouchable Face wasn't so much the plot or characters as it was Selena's writing style, which I've always liked. It's a decent story, certainly not bad by any means. I also don't mind Selena doing something in the light as a change of pace. This one is sweet and romantic after you get past the initial instalove and stalkery behavior of the hero. Valentina is sassy, which is always good to see in a heroine.
So, considering its a quick read, I'd say its a fun change of pace.

Untouchable Face is a standalone story featuring Adrian Hart and Valentina Rose. Adrian is a drummer in a famous rock band and Valentina plays the keyboard with her band. So, I have been a long time fan of Selena's dark romance reads - it's opened up a whole new world for me and yet - this is not like Selena's other reads. Not at all what I was expecting and yet it was still a good romance read. There were times I felt a lull in the storyline and at the same time everything seemed rushed too. The insta love was more than insta and while good it just didn't have the same depth that I've become accustomed to with this author. Still a good read but since I've experienced greatness this was a bit underwhelming for me.

This book was cute! It’s not one of my favorites of Selena’s books but it was still definitely worth the read! It’s a cutesy, fast paced, rockstar romance. I like a good slow burn, the darker the better and this wasn’t that. I knew that when starting it but read it anyway because I knew Selena would make me love it. If though heard of the author and want to check her books out but don’t like dark romance than this is definitely the one for you! Adrian is crazy, but in a cute way. He’s just so adorable.

This story of an obsessed rock God was funny, emotional and sizzling hot. I loved these characters so much and couldn’t put the story down. Adrian can have anything he wants except Valentina and it drives him wild. Their chemistry was electric and the way it grew into so much more was so pleasing to experience. This author is known for her intriguing and dark stories but she also delivers in spades with this sweet and steamy romance. I loved it!.

Wow! I have read all of Selena's book and when reading this I expected the same, but nope throw a curve ball and hit it over the fence cause this steamy deliciousness was perfect. Selena showed a new angle for her and I love it. Valentina is straight out of Faulker and showing the world who is who and Adrian is not the normal rock we hear about now days. I hope and pray there will be a book 2, 3 and 4 and a spinoff on the Iron Thorns!.

I have always been selective with my rockstar books. I love Selena's other books so I decided to give it a shot. It is worth it! I am used to her dark books so I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. I loved how supportive Valentina's friends were with her decisions and even pushing her to go out and do something for herself. Adrian was a ego driven rockstar who knew from the beginning he wanted her and I loved it. Valentina and Adrians constant back and forth made it a fun read, wondering if and when they would finally give in to each other. Definitely recommend!

Such a good rocker/dark romance book! Adrian Hart the drummer for the biggest rock band locks eyes with Valentina Rose at a band event and for him it’s love at first sight. Untouchable Face is a standalone that is set in the Faulknerverse. You don't need to read any previous Faulknerverse series to know what's going on. Normally when you think of Selena's books, you think of dark, gritty, triggers galore, this was quite the opposite. Although, this may be different from her other books, this was still well done and very entertaining. I truly enjoyed it. If you are looking for Rockstar, age gap (OM/YW), instalove, with hints of dark themes, than this one is for you! I do hope there's more books in the future!

In walks Adrian Hart - bad boy rock star, billionaire, drummer.. and it was love at first sight.
I love how easy and sweet this story was, it was so unexpected from Selena since she is known for her dark romances and this one was not dark, but it was amazing nonetheless. I loved the way things moved so quickly and the fact that these two were in instalove, and I was there for all the things. I can't wait to read more! I really hope the rest of the band gets stories too!!

This was completely different than the other books in the Faulkner universe that I was used to, not dark at all, but equally amazing!
Adrian and Valentina have a sweet insta-romance with the very spicy scenes that Selena is so good at writing. Definitely a good quick read!
Hoping for Crimson's story because that would be really interesting too.

Wow… ok this book is definitely not like any of the other books Selena has wrote and not dark but wow I’m definitely ok with that. This was definitely a nice change. And anything Rock Star has me immediately.. Adrian and Valentina story is really great.. I mean once he saw her that was it. The story had great pace and the steamy scenes were well steamy lol. I loved this book.. another great story from one of the best.
