He doesn't believe in fate, unless a girl bounded by Red string with him appears. xD
Thank goodness FL has guts to confess.

Upon starting this into Yuka's POV, I had to flip through book two to remember where we left off with Fuji (the string unraveling from his finger). I think that helped me enjoy this more than be confused by it, and it may have helpful to have that little reminder or something at the beginning to give us a heads up on where Fuji's head might be. Until now we've had the story largely from his point of view, with him trying to solve a two-person issue and wondering how Yuka feels without asking her, all while knowing their strings are not attached.

So, for reference without spoilers, Fuji begins this book with the red string no longer attached to his finger as far as we know. And he's been able to see it his whole life, so not having it probably means he feels like he's floundering and the only thing he knows, or thinks he knows, is that Yuka's string is attached to someone else. This really does help make sense of his lackadaisical attitude (sometimes he even seems depressed :( ) through the majority of the book and even the end, which ... Sorry, not really a spoiler, but just in case ...

Back to Yuka. We get this volume entirely from her perspective after she wakes up suddenly able to see the string. And what follows could be strung together a bit better (haha puns), but it's interesting to see how someone who insists Fate is in charge freaks out when that turns into reality. Because... What if she doesn't like the person? She's too scared to look at her male coworkers for fear that she might be connected to them. That makes her turn her thoughts inward about how she's been thinking and who she might actually like versus who she doesn't.

I like this because we get to see her thinking for herself and questioning Fate. It's a reversal for her and sets her along a similar path as Fuji in terms of accepting Fate or not. She doesn't necessarily get there on her own, but she does it in her own way, and I love how it ends.

I feel like I have whiplash....

suddenly the POV switches to yuka in this volume, who can now see the red string. it's tied to fuji, and her feelings develop extremely quickly, sparked only by the 'fate' thread. she decides she likes him for real, gets jealous about him hanging out with other girls, and then confesses multiple times. fuji is extremely slow on the uptake (which like why...he's liked her for so long).

the final chapter/mutual confession is cute. and the art is still great, so I'm leaving this at 3 stars, but I feel like the execution here could've been better.

Yuma can finally see the red string of fate and it’s connected to Fuji! This volume is so much fun because now you get her thoughts about the string and her fated love. We see her trying to figure out if it’s her feelings or the string leading her to Fuji and what she decides to do. Fuji looks like a pretty cool person from Yuka’s point of view that I laughed knowing he’s usually a little bit of a wreck when it comes to her. It was also fun when Yuka began to realize she didn’t want to see Fuji with anyone else, red string or not.

Cute, and I liked that we got a POV shift for this volume even though it kinda just raised more questions about the worldbuilding/continuity of the red strings of fate and how that all works. I love Yuka and Fuji's character designs.

It's finally getting good and in volume 3, you get to see the story through Yuka's perspective. It did take awhile to get to this point but honestly since it's book 3, I feel its moving along at a decent pace vs other manga that takes like 10 volumes before someone finally asks the other person out, or confesses feelings. So I'm pretty satisfied with this outcome.

Took me a bit to get up to speed with the switch this volume. And it just felt like there was a lot of dithering.

The switch in perspective was a bit jarring but overall super cute.
