Neat shortish tale of magic and the teenage brain. Effran is not dumb. He is easily distracted, which is a problem when the subject is magic. When school refuses to keep him, his parents find a tutor. But is Madame Solstra the answer? Why does she have snakes in her library? And what of his fellow student and her dead great-grandmother? Well-written, funny and quirky.
