Ruth Glick (born 1942) is a best-selling author of healthy cookbooks and has also written dozens of romantic suspense romance novels under the pen name Rebecca York.

Ruth earned a B.A. in American Thought and Civilization from George Washington University and an M.A. in American Studies from the University of Maryland. Although she always wanted to become a writer, Glick was convinced that her lack of spelling skills meant that her goal was unattainable. As a stay-at-home mother, she took a community college course to help her choose a career. The course made it very clear that writing was her primary interest. Glick began writing articles for newspapers and magazines, but after several years decided to try writing fiction. Her first book, a kids' science fiction book, was finally purchased by Scholastic Inc..

Since then, Glick has become a highly successful author of over 50 romantic suspense and paranormal novels. Many of her novels are published under the Harlequin Intrigue line, and in June 2003, she became one of the first authors published under Berkley's new Sensation imprint. Before 1997, she often collaborated with Eileen Buckholtz and Kathryn Jenson.

Glick also is a highly regarded author of cookbooks focusing on healthy eating. She sometimes hires trained chefs to test the recipes that she creates, and makes sure that every recipe is tested at least three times before it appears in one of her cookbooks.

Glick is the head of the Columbia Writers Workshop. She and her husband, Norman Glick, live in Columbia, Maryland, where Ruth collects rocks, and enjoys cooking, walking, reading, gardening, travel, and Mozart operas. They have two grown children, Elissa and Ethan, and two grandsons (Jesse and Leo).

Excellent contemporary paranormal romantic suspense. Isabella is on the run from dangerous men. At her fathers ranch she’s greeted by a spirit that doesn’t want to give up. The two embark on a unique journey that keeps the reader turning pages.

Short story. 83 pages so it didn’t have much depth.

Isabella and her father were political refugees. She was guarded by Decorah Security and one man in particular, Matthew. She was a teenager back then, but she knew she loved him even then. They both felt an attraction to each other, but he was 9 years older than her and would never think of acting on his feelings for her. She eventually left the ranch safe house and became a nurse. She also had heard that Matthew had been killed over 5 years ago in a shoot out. One night, 2 men came to kill her--luckily she escaped. She went back to the ranch. Upon leaving her vehicle and walking towards the house, a burst of wind hit her and what felt like strong arms grabbed her; it felt like she was being slung towards the stable wall and then she abruptly stopped. She heard a gravelly man's voice, "Isabella?" Could it be him? "Matthew?"

This is a novella, but is full of tension, yearning, love and the supernatural. There are a couple of sexual parts in the book, so this is for mature readers.

Short, but sweet! Matthew Houseman was the love of Isabella Flores' young life when he was her bodyguard, but he showed no signs of returning her feelings. He is later killed and she has only memories of him and the safety she felt on the ranch she one lived and has now returned to in fear of her life.

Isabella is a strong woman, able to defend herself, but somehow she is getting help from a phantom! She dreams of being with Matthew and even though it feels real, it couldn't be, right? Is she seeing things or is Matthew's spirit still protecting her? If he's real, can she bring him back from the dead or whatever limbo he is in?

Although not deep, this is a great one hour read!

Isabella is running from her home from the men sent to kill her and her father. She goes to an old safe house she was in years earlier when she was guarded by Matthew houseman. She ends up really having feeling for him but is too young and he has a job to do so nothing comes of it. A few years later, she finds out Matt is killed while on duty with decorah securities. When she gets to the ranch she encounters Matt's ghost.

Wow what a great short story, while I would liked to have read their whole story, I really did love where this book started and the story that played out from there.

This was an okay read, a little misleading in how its described/billed. I liked Isabella, though, well enough, and the story flowed quickly and smoothly. It did make me curious about the rest of the books in the series, so I guess it achieved its purpose as far as short stories go.

Love Conquers All

When Isabella was in danger, Matthew's spirit keeps her safe. This is a story of faith in love. It has some unexpected twists that most readers will not anticipate, but will appreciate.
