Cathy Liggett is a New York Times bestselling author and an ACFW Carol award winner. She is also an Ohio girl who never dreamed her writing journey would take her across the world and to Amish country, too. But she's learned God's plans for our lives are often more creative than the ones we imagine for ourselves. That includes re-meeting her husband at a high school reunion and marrying three months later--over forty years ago. She enjoys visiting kids and grandkids, spoiling the family pup, and knitting too (if the pattern isn't too tough!).

Cute story. This caught my eye because of the baseball element. While baseball isn’t a huge part of the story, it was a fun tie in. Enjoyed this sweet story although Megan kinda drove me crazy at times. Good read.

Started a bit slow, but all in all was a good read. has its moments where is tugs at your heart, especially if you are a mom and expecially if you have a big heart for kids with special needs.

I enjoyed everything about this book. It is a beautiful love story with characters that drew me in and held my attention all the way through. You can't help but fall in love with Mac, who takes a special interest in Megan's son, Sammy.

Mac finds Megan much harder to win over, though he quickly finds himself falling head over heels in love with her. This is one of those stories that will make you sigh out loud, especially if you're a romantic at heart. And while it *is* romantic, this story is not filled with sticky sweet moments. The characters have some very real issues and challenges, and find themselves at some tough crossroads.

The baseball theme worried me at first, since I'm not a huge sports fan but the author keeps it in the background, interjecting just enough to make Mac believable. If you haven't read any of Cathy's books yet, start with this one!

Felt like this story skipped ahead so much it was hard to follow how much time had passed and what had happened in that period. Didn't understand the character of Janey and what she brought to the story, but I really liked Mac and Sammy. Megan had been really hurt in the past and struggled with trusting, but I saw growth in her as Mac broke down her walls and showed her she could trust him.

It took me a bit to get into this book. I found the main character annoying at first. The first 50 pages are about her being abnorally.upset about a man swering his car to avoid hitting a deer and almost hitting her on a rainy night. I just wanted yell at this chracter....and thought she was nuts.

Was a very good story about learning to trust and to love again. I loved little Sammy and his ability to love and make others feel loved. He was quite the little character.

I really loved this book. It is so easy to get wrapped up in everyday life. I can only imagine taking care of a special needs child alone. When Mac came into her life Megan never imagined what it would lead to.
