Ophelia Simmons has a good life: her girlfriend and her ex are getting along, she has a job that she loves, and being telekinetic means never having to get up to change the channel. When another superhero starts behaving strangely, however, she's drawn into a conspiracy that threatens everyone she cares about. By the time it's over, she won't know who she can trust-or even if she'll still be standing.

I really like superhero novels and this one should have been perfect from the description.
The relationship between the main characters is good but the storyline is just not up to the characters.
when I say all the characters are good there is one glaring exception - Marcus, he is so unbelievable that he almost ruins the story.
I have got #2 on my to read list but no big hurry.

The creativity and character development in this book were top notch. I liked the characters, their personalities, and their complicated relationships and friendships. The rich and famous girls of gossip mags become superheros in stilettos was fun to picture and it was like i was seeing them drawn in color. very well done. And The story itself was a fun yet suspenseful mystery of the superhero variety.

If i didn't like the characters and the plot so much, i would have given this 2 stars for how bad the writing was. It wasn't a long book, but took me forever to get through from having to re-read sentences to try to make sense of them. Run on complex sentences that took up paragraphs were frequent, requiring lots of work to break down. Typos were slathered throughout, but those are just small annoyances compared to having to work to figure out what a sentence means and where the comma should go.

By the end of it, i was glad it was over. But i still count it as a good story with great characters and would recommend it to anyone that's not as picky as i am about lack of editing.

This book transports you into a world with strong women and exciting possibilities. The author’s clever wording and attention to detail gives the book a comic book feel with no need for illustrations. I can’t wait to see what is in store for the characters of the Super series next.
