[Siren LoveXtreme Special Edition: Erotic Consensual BDSM Ménage Romance, M/F/M/M/M/M/M, public exhibition, sex toys]
Lalita Marshall is in desperate need of money. When her best friend tells her about an opportunity that will relieve her of all her financial worries, Lalita feels it just may be too good to be true. Then, she finds out that this so-called opportunity would essentially make her a submissive sex slave to six very powerful and gorgeous men.
When she finally meets Dorian, Zakary, Alec, Kane, Michael, and Torryn, she knows she is in big trouble. The six of them not only exude a power that leaves her breathless, but they also leave her body sexually sated and exhausted. The longer Lalita spends with them, the more she knows that this isn’t just a job for her, not when she is starting to fall for each and every one of them.
Note: There is no sexual relationship or touching for titillation between or among the men.
Part of the Dominance and Submission series, the story follows a formulaic plan of harem meets girl and gives her the sexiest time and emotions get involved in and they all get together in the end.
This story follows Lalita, a single mom who needs money for living and gets the opportunity to earn more money through being a sexual plaything for a few billionaires. A month of this and she develops feelings for some of the men, with a little angst thrown in when feelings are squashed. She gets her money and moves on, but soon some of the men come back wanting her for themselves.
The GOOD: it was lovely to see a woman normally not used for stories like these, single moms. The trauma of having to do this and leave her son alone during the time she is with the men is quite nice to see. The realistic aspect of the men not allowing her close to them because she is being paid for this is also quite realistic and heartbreaking too.
IF ONLY: there was more page time with the men to get to know them. We are surpassed and given a rushed account of the sex, the times with the men, the men and their emotions or their motives. It’s like that is not really important and the sex scenes do seem similar after a bit. The ending was sweet but it allowed for a realistic notion of some of the men not in to this as they were there just for the sex and that was a bit off putting.
Read this for: the formulaic reverse harem story plot not much plot device single mom getting to have sex the trauma of being the single mom needing the money the little angst when the guys start to distance themselves the little happy every after
She needs the money to keep a roof over her and her son's head and to pay off the exorbitant debt left her by her ex. On a dare from a friend, she accepts the challenge to apply for a position providing sex for five men for two months. Now this is isn't my usual kind of love story but it is one that intrigued me. I don't think it is as well written as others I have read by this author. I didn't get the feeling that it really went anywhere, and the men were not characters that were as sharp and decisive as in other stories of Ms Snow's. That being said, it was pure erotica and there really was a HEA.
That’s the first sentence in the third installment of Jenika Snow’s Dominance and Submission series. Unfortunately, the lady doth protest too much, methinks. When the story begins, Lalita Marshall has just been through a crushing divorce that left her saddled with a mountain of her ex’s debt. A single mother, Lalita is struggling to make ends meet for herself and her five-year-old son (Lennon), but conventional employment just isn’t paying the bills. The lady has my sympathy. However, within a few pages Lalita has taken a two-month position as a live-in sex slave for six very handsome bachelors. When the agreed upon time is up, the men will deposit a hefty sum into Lalita’s bank account. So, sex… for money. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that the very definition of prostitution?!?
To be honest, I generally steer clear of stories that rely on this type of premise as I don’t find anything particularly “hot” about a woman who is in such dire financial straits that she sees servicing strangers for cash as her only option (for me, this adds an icky non-consent-ish layer to the D/s relationship). However, in the interest of broadening my horizons a little bit, I decided to give it a shot anyway.
The overall story was pretty much what you would expect from the genre – the setting was over the top, the plot followed a predictable arc, and the characters were only developed as much as they had to be in order to justify a two-month long marathon of sex and domination. In fact, I think when Snow decided to make this story a M/F/M/M/M/M/M story, she bit off a little more than she could chew. At least two (if not three) of the male characters were more set decoration than characters and probably could have been done away with without impacting the erotic effect of Lalita’s submission or her ultimate HEA. As you ladies probably know, bigger is usually better, but more isn’t always. ;)
One thing I will say for Snow is that the sex scenes in Breathless were probably the best I’ve read by her so far. She did a good job of finding the balance between vanilla scenes with just enough dominance to make a reader sit up and take notice, and the more extreme scenes that have the power to make a more adventurous woman hot and edgy (and just a little envious). Snow also stands out for her ability to write sexy, believable dialogue that paints a mental picture of dark desires and firm expectations without ever sounding like the script for a bad porn flick.
Verdict: Breathless is the best of the series, but there's still plenty of room for improvement.
OH MY FREAKIN WOW! I absolutely LOVED THIS BOOK! The characters are amazing. The men are gorgeous, the sex is smokin hot and the intense chemistry between all of them is wet your panties set your crotch on fire amazing. Lol. Even though the story is 328 pages I still wanted more. I would've loved for Lalita to have had children with them. Would love a sequel. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
I enjoyed this but it was too rushed. Would be better as a full length novel with more detail!
At first I kept puzzling if Id read this before but realised its extremely similar to a Maya Banks book Ive read a while ago. Sorry but Maya Banks was much better because it was more in depth.
Meh...It sounded good in the blurb, but it really wasn't. I actually didn't mean to buy it because I was looking through the free books, but I wasn't paying attention when I clicked the button. As I clicked, I saw it said buy instead of read for free. I returned it.It was basically all sex. Not even really interesting sex. And if Aleck had asked me to use what he did, I would have used it on him. You can't pretend to be submissive. You either are or you aren't. There was nothing D/s about this other than they were telling her what to do and she had to do it or lose the money from the whole deal. No wasn't an option. Waste of my time and money.
