This was the first ever book I read from beginning to end and started my love of reading, I highly recommend that you give this book a read.

Generic fantasy with 'banter' that isn't nearly as funny as it thinks it is between characters who are clearly predestined to get paired off.

Billed as 'Book 1', but it is evidently the sequel to an earlier book or books, and doesn't stand alone very well without them, the world-building being pretty much paper thin.

although this is book one of i - don't - know - how - many, i read it and did not need to go looking for the second book, which i am ever so pleased to say. over the last few years it seems every other book has a bunch more books that you have to read before you reach the end of the story, and i was getting a little tired of that. i have been wanting to just read one book and put it down before finding another book to read and putting it down, rather than these stories that take library and book - store searches from hell before the story is wrapped up.
a beautiful tale of fantasy and adventure, with a little romance and hope thrown in for good measure, dreams of stone is the story of good and evil again, and discoveries by the main character of personal strength and magic that she never knew she possessed, and her ability to help others and in fact the whole world with those discoveries.
i paid about 50 cents for this book at an op shop and got about $1.50 worth of enjoyment from it.
a very pleasant read.
