Ugg I'm 66 years old and just got my 1st Male dog (two years old). Ugg the old owners (Relatives) keep repeating "He does NOT Bite" They say he knows, SIT, STAY, and is Crate Trained. He likes chewing on my Hand, I say NO and give him his chew toy. Hey Carol agrees with me. We set up the CRATE he goes inside. He goes into Attack Mode. 1st time I am scared of any DOG. Carol likes Crates, 6 months later I'm scared to try. Leash Training is Interesting WE (Me and Dog) are working on it. Outside works better than Inside. The Hardest Part is convensing him Leash is Training not Walking.
Guess I should talk about the Book, EZ to read smooth and consistant, some things I already knew, some ideas I am working on. Problem Dogs are still part of the family you have to Love Them.
Absolutely awful. No stars. The advice here can potentially harm or even kill your dog. Use this only for kindling, wiping your ass, cleaning your shoes -- ANYTHING -- just don't use it to train a dog. I gave away my copy and now I regret doing so -- I should have just placed it in the recycle bin.
We don't have any dog problems yet, but I want to prevent them by reading this book now. She has a lot of advice for puppy owners and a lot of what she says is "if you have a puppy do this.... " or "you can prevent this problem if you start early with a puppy"
