Packaging is an important factor in any retail environment and a key element in most marketing strategies. Consumers react immediately to package shapes, and are influenced by them when making buying decisions. Different product categories are often easy to recognize by their characteristic form, for example chocolate boxes or milk cartons. On the other hand, a manufacturer of an exclusive product, such as jewellery or perfume, may deliberately choose an unusual, eye-catching form.

About the author

Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).

If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.

This is a great follow-up book to structural packaging design by Pepin Press. If you buy it, I would recommend to try to get it with CD.

It is a good book with a lot of good die-line guides. My biggest complaint would be that the file-formats you are given on the CD (.eps) can not be imported into ArtiosCAD or illustrator without obvious errors. Majority of the files have big gaps in the construction files.

But, if you re-make the dielines yourself, there should be no issue. This is a great book for inspiratio, but nothing much more than that.
