This is the sequel to The Road from Home and tells Veron's story the first few years she was in the US. She managed to put her past behind her and to make the best of her circumstances. She was married to a decent man and seems to have lived a happy life-- truly amazing after reading about her 1st 15 years!

Interesting to see Veron adjust to life in America but it was definitely lacking, especially the ending, and was not near as good as the first book about Veron, Far From Home.
