About the author

Miles Rozak

Miles Rozak's got a blaster cannon tucked under his bed that he built with plans from a ship that cratered in his backyard.

As you can tell, his imagination's been cooking since an early age. At 18 months old, Mom says he'd draw pictures until falling asleep.

Age 6, he teared up watching Darth Vader's sacrifice in ROTJ.

A love for sci-fi blossomed soon after.

Like in junior high, when he wrote a screenplay involving a robot that upon filming, earned a call to police from the neighbors. (For the record, that gun was a prop.)

Decades later, not much has changed.

Except he's now focused on books (to avoid run-ins with the authorities).

Looking back, Miles credits his Mom for keeping him stocked with crayons, Dad for reading the greats aloud, Wife for input, Readers for motivation, and God for the creative spark.

See you in the pages of my next story!

I don't know why this book didn't capture me and want me to keep going back to it. Tom Taylorson's narration is great. The characters are good. I read these indie authored space adventures all the time.

But this just didn't grab me for some reason. I think it's the main character and the way the plot is handled. This guy's son has been kidnapped. You'd think he'd be moving heaven and earth to get him back. And he is trying - but he keeps getting sidetracked by these missions that are supposed to be steps in the process. It translates as the guy not caring nearly as much about his son as he does the side characters he has to rescue. We have zero idea what's going on with his son. It reads like some kind of ambiguous plot device just to set the stage for all the adventure.

Well, if you're going to start with a 4-year old child being kidnapped, I need more than rescuing the brothers of mob bosses and big bad worm creatures who can eat you while a volcano erupts.

I'm not sure I want to continue with the series at this point. I expected more. Tom Taylorson is being wasted on this series. I may read the third book but if it doesn't improve, then I'm out.

What the Hidalgo is going on, I want Maw!!!

I think this is one of my favorite books yet! I have been following the Rozak Collections and I have to say this one has really taken me on a super exciting journey. These books have been really good therapy for me taking me to another universe of escapism. I hope you like the humor in the title! The writing material just continues to get better with Rozak. Kudos to Rozak and everyone involved with the readying of these books to launch. I am looking forward to the final book of this collection. If you’re looking for an exciting read and like Sci-fi, I definitely recommend this book along with the first book if you haven’t read it. Enjoy!

Not quite 2*, but 3 is generous

It's not quite what I was hoping for, for the 2nd book in the series. Things are taking a very long time to develop and for a father trying to find his son, there seems little urgency
The sub plots and side stories are becoming more prevalent than the hunt for his son and given that's supposed to be the main driving factor of the series that seems odd
There's a lot of introspection, sometimes so much you could ignore a whole page and not actually miss any of the storyline
The overall impression is one of who cares both from the characters in the book and me as the reader

This was a decent follow on to the first book where Tyson Gage Maggie, and Tess further try to get Ollie back from his kidnappers.
This book starts to show Tyson's military acumen as he navigates mob bosses, and tries to be a Centurion.
The book flows well, with good character development. If there is any issue, it's that some of the species protagonists are a bit difficult to keep track. Overall an enjoyable book to read.

Non-stop action. Gage, Tess and the crew try to meet with Braddock, in order to infiltrate the Yakuzi, and rescue Gage’s son. We also find out more of Tess’s backstory. And finally, what a cliff hanger! All I could say was, “no!!!”. I cannot wait for book 3! The series just keeps getting better. I received a free copy of this book, with no obligation.

Another cliffhanger

I truly HATE cliffhangers! I love a series, but do wish that a given storyline were completed in a single book.

The book is decent, and, as I've already purchased 4 books, I will finish.

Tangled

Lots of threads taking us all over the place. As a mother I know my child would be foremost in my thoughts and actions but it seems to me our hero's has room for other thoughts. Hopefully it will all come together in the next book.

Hooked

This series I fell into by mistake and thought I would give it a few chapters. That was book one 3 days ago and I've been turning pages ever since. Great story and character development really pulls you in and keeps the story fresh. That's all for now. Grabbing book 3.

Good read

Enjoyable series. Reasonably fast paced. There is a good mix of the characters in the two I have read so far. Slightly predictable but I don't find that objectionable.
