This book should more appropriately be titled Monkeyfarts!: Wacky Jokes Every Kid Should Know and Most Adults Have Already Heard in Some Form. (Kind of an unwieldy title, though, isn't it?)

This book is too long (it's almost 100 pages!) and features mostly inane, sanitized jokes that barely made me crack any smiles at all. There are a few clever ones, but for the most part, these are the sort of jokes that stop being funny after about the age of ten. For a book called Monkeyfarts!, it's also remarkably light on the bathroom humour. I was expecting far more booger and poop jokes.

I haven't read many kids' joke books, so I don't really have anything to compare this one to. I suspect, however, that there are funnier ones out there.

I read somewhere that I was supposed to read this book for some reason (It was probably from some list of great books for kids or something), so I ordered it and read it. I probably would have LOVED this book as a child. I would have ATTEMPTED to read ALL of the jokes to my parents and laugh hysterically after each one, and each time my parents would feign laughter and after about three of these jokes, they would ask me if I had a shower to take or homework to do or something like that...

A hundred page feast of droll humor kids have been sharing in school since the 70s at least. Only a small percentage is about farts and other ASSorted bathroom comedy. But the drawings are awesome. Kids might like this book... I think...

Monkeyfarts!: Wacky Jokes Every Kid Should Know is a book that is just what the title suggests: a collection of jokes for kids. These jokes are geared towards kids in the elementary school age bracket, and are clean and family friendly. There's a nice variety of jokes here, ranging from knock knock jokes, puns, and funny short stories. As with any other joke book, this one is hit and miss. Some of them were hilarious (and I shockingly hadn't heard before) and others weren't funny at all (or I just didn't get). If you have a young child or are around young children a lot or even if you're a fan of jokes with an orange-you-glad-I-didn't-say-banana sense of humor, this book is definitely worth a skim.

Thanks so much to Quirk Books for my copy, and this review can also be found on my blog, Bitches n Prose.

My favorite joke: Why does Superman's shirt fit so tight? He's wearing a size S.

Fun joke book with lots of popular culture references. Kids will like this one.

Do you ever spend time with people ages 6- old, then I highly recommended this as the jokes are uproariously funny. Granted they are clean, kid-friendly jokes, but I appreciate them for that reason!
