This cookbook is from the same author as America's Test Kitchen. It is a good one.

I love Christopher Kimball's essays and this collection is his best. I highly recommend this book.

This contains good recipes, particularly in the breakfast section, but get this book for the anecdotes and old fashioned advice.

One of my favorites not just for the classic recipes, but also (mostly) for the intros to each chapter. Stories of farm life and the townspeople of the area.
