Although this book had great illustrations I wasn’t much of a fan of the story itself. The illustrations were painted first then scanned in and some illustrations were even isolated from others.
Little Rabbit is all alone in the forest. He wonders when the moon will be back so he starts asking other animals. When Rabbit isn’t satisfied with the answer he is given, he moves on to the next. Little Rabbit ends up growing too tired to ever realize the moon came back to watch him at night. The theme for this book is to keep hope and not to give up. Yes Rabbit did give up by falling asleep, but he was dreaming about the moon coming back to him.

Lovely story. I prefer when children's books put the art on both sides. This has the art on one page and text on a white background on the other. So there are lovelier books with better stories out there.

This is an adorable storybook for a youngster for bedtime. Anyone can relate to rabbit whom is waiting on the moon that has tried their hardest to stay awake to see something. Rabbit is trying so hard to wait on the moon, wondering where it is or how long it will take to see. So he starts asking the flower, or the hill, or the wind etc but when the moon finally comes out rabbit is fast asleep. But the moon watches over him anyhow.

A very cute story about a little rabbit worried he needs the moon to watch over him to sleep and his journey to find it. This was our night story I picked out for my baby girl. She really seemed to like it as she cooed and smiled the entire time I read it to her. The illustrations are simplistic, but very nicely done. A quick little read that is good for small children.

Little Rabbit is tired, but he wants to wait for the moon before falling asleep. So, he asks all of the things around him when the moon will come out. None of them know. So, he falls asleep while waiting for the moon, and of course it eventually comes out. This book is good for 1-2 grade.

100 stars because we have not read this in a long time and I love it. the story is so sad because he didn't stay up for the moon. 🎁🐎🦄🍓🍌🍉🇦🇺🇨🇦🐴🦓🐱🐯🍌🍓🍉 hope. we read this book to hope when she was little. I love this book.

We read this one today with “The Moon Might Be Milk,” which went together really well and has put us right into the mood for a moon-themed tea party with some sugar cookies! Maybe this would be an extra special way for celebrating a lunar event?

About the book: I felt like the text was the highlight of this book rather than the illustrations (although they are cute). Like “The Moon Might Be Milk,” this one has a soothing, poetic nature to it, which we both like and makes good bedtime reading. This one is great for getting a child to think about how the moon’s presence affects us on earth and everything around us. My daughter and I have been talking a lot lately about gravity and, in particular, how the moon’s gravity affects the tides, so this book opened up even more conversation about our relationship to the moon - and how the earth’s movements create our night and day.
