Love the images, clear, understandable language.

Love the images, clear, understandable language. Gets to the point without over usage of words and explanations logically entertained. Quick read.

This book was very short, but it was one of the best bunny books I've read so far. It doesn't cover things like how and what to feed your rabbit, or what kind of cage / hutch to get, or what kind of breeds of rabbits there are. This book only deals with rabbit habbits, something that most rabbit handbooks only vaguely and briefly cover.

This book wanted to emphasis that in order to have a good relationship with your bunny, you needed to know how to understand him. Rabbits aren't like cats or dogs, and sometimes understanding their behavior is a little puzzling. They are quiet animals who communicate mostly by body language. A slight twitch of the right ear could be rabbit speak, but what does it mean? This book explained that and much more.

Along with talking about how to translate what your bunny is trying to say, this book also talked a lot about the mental health of rabbits. It talked several times about how rabbits with nothing to do get bored easily and that boredom leads to illness (mental and physical) as well as destructive behaviors. The book discusses several ways to help keep your rabbit mentally stimulated, giving examples of things you can try when feeding them, as well as how to enrich their environment.

The only thing that I didn't like about this book, is that it did not really discuss happy habits. Things like how your rabbit will "teeth purr", or other such behaviors when your bunny is happy. It isn't always odvious when your bunny is happy, and some behaviors can be startling the first time you witness them (teeth purring, extreme bunny flops, etc). It would be nice to know that it means your bunny is happy, and not having some sort of fit of sickness). Tamsin briefly mentions a few happy behaviors, but they are brief. Almost one liners. It would have been nice to have more of an explanation for what makes your rabbit do that behavior in the first place.

Even though I'm sad to see happy habits not really covered, it does not detract too much from this book. It is still one of the best rabbit books around. I would recommend it to any bunny lover & owner- new owners and not new owners alike.

Easy read and very helpful

I’m trying to bond two rabbits and it’s really difficult to understand their language without help. Especially the head lowering when asking for grooming to show dominance versus head lowering to show submission completely stumped me.
Luckily things were very well explained. AMD there were some helpful tips with regards to enrichment. Super book which I would highly recommend to any rabbit owner concerned about their rabbits well-being.

Great book on house rabbit care, especially for beginners. The illustrations are clear, and simply depict various actions that would otherwise take paragraphs to fully describe and compare. Text is readable, without being oversimplified nor too technical. I was able to show a bunny sitter what to watch for in case of sickness, and a friend to observe while bonding his two.
