Poems From Heaven

Rate this book
Poems from Heaven offers explanations of diverse messages and principles from God's word using simple poems. The message in each poem is brought into better perspective using supporting biblical passages and discussion. The poems are grouped in four general categories that serve as chapter Inspire, Salvation, Scripture, and Agape. The simple Christian poetry of author Uzoaga Kelechukwu will inspire you and touch your heart. I am If I was inanimate Then I would be God's sanctuary Sanctified by the Blood of the Lamb I would be a vessel unto honour Fit for the master's use I would be a garment, sparkling white Flowing softly in the wind I would be a beam of bright light Soft on the eyes, but still piercing the darkness I would be sounds of joy, praises and worship Sweet music to God's ears If I was an animal I would be an eagle, friend of the sun Soaring highest, perplexing minds I would be a dove, white and pure The Holy Spirit's best bird I would be a lion, strong and stately Defying fear, turning away from no one I would be an ant, prudent and disciplined Teaching men to be wise I would be a lamb, gentle and meek But I am a spirit, born of the Spirit

I am a writer. I write poetry and prose, play with fiction and non-fiction, put words into jigsaw pieces so that they fit snugly, slip from the tongue with ease and flow freely from lips to ears to touch the heart, mind, and soul of a reader or listener.

This collection of poetry did not reach me as written words should reach a reader. It had potential. There were a some good lines in individual pieces, but each poem as a whole seemed to lack depth. Unfortunately I felt that the pieces still needed a lot of work in many regards.

Misc: A side comment... I don't think authors should be able to rate their own works. If they do decide to do so, they should give a neutral 3. I was quite bothered when I saw the 5 star rating.

These poems are not good. They are simply not good. There were a few that had a couple good elements but, as a whole, they were awkward and painful. This is stuff I would expect from a middle schooler, not things that I would put in a book for publishing. The book might be helpful as Bible study tool, but it should not stand alone as a book of poetry.

This collection of poems has great potential. I looked at it as raw feelings from the heart, in that light it was very emotionally engaging. As a printed piece, I would say some of the poems could use a little more work, some of the entries seemed a little forced.

I did like the bible passages and explanations that went along with each poem. I think it gave understanding to what the writer was contemplating. It also would function well as a bible study tool.

I won this book as a goodreads giveaway. I have read this book poem by poem over many weeks to better appreciate it. I enjoyed most of them very much with the biblical references matching up well except in a few small cases. A beautiful book.

This was a wonderful calming experience. Each poem gave me reason to reflect on my own personal meditation.
