This is a fairly fun sci-fi romp into worlds unknown. A man and a woman are somehow transported into a strange place where everything looks like a movie set and there are no people. They must try and find their way back to their own world while navigated some strange characters and dimensions created by none other than.......you'll have to read to find out.
Nothing prophetic or enlightening, but it's a fun read.

Similar story pattern to Phoenix Prime. Alternate dimensions, man and women take a journey and fall in love. Women character is shallow and raped (similar to Phoenix Prime and its sequel). I liked journey and the thought of 15th century italians trying out alternative futures.

read this when I was a teenager and into science fiction - really liked it but can't remember a thing about it now, nearly 50 years later

Actually, I’d say 2.5 stars. I liked Ted White’s Android Avenger books but this story didn’t stack up.
