The story follows Belinda and her little sister to three corners of the Pitiusa Minor in search of kind Senor el Medico on behalf of a doll with a particularly severe headache.
This is a very short chapter book, and something that was discarded from Hunter Library when I was working there years ago. I took it home because it was just so lovely to look at. It's been sitting, unread, on my shelf ever since. Decided to pick it up just the other day and it was a pleasant surprise. Between the author's amazing description of everyday life on a Mediterranean island and the illustrator's soft, gentle illustrations, I was transported. What a sweet, sweet story, and something I think even today's kids would enjoy if they were given the chance.
