I kind of like to think of myself as a normal lady living a semi normal life. I’m not sure that’s all that accurate; I have a sweet husband and two dogs-my girls- that I think of as my children. I grew up in Sonoma County, California and I never pictured myself moving. Funny because now I live in North Idaho and I love it here, I love the summers; camping, bar-b-ques with friends, and the farmers markets. I find the winter magical and love the snow. I started writing as a hobby. I’ve been one of those people who has been obsessed with the world of the paranormal for as long as I can remember. I self published my first book in August of 2011 at my husbands’ urging.
Sophia’s story was truly meant for me at the beginning. Now I love that I chose to share these characters with everyone who’s chosen to read about them. I love these characters. They hold a special part of me and represent the strength and knowledge that comes with never giving up. of course I’m biased.
As for me personally, I’m not one who ever really shared much of my own story, however not long ago I finally shared my story with the fans who followed my Facebook page Magen McMinimy Author Page so I figure my story is out there for the world to read so I might as well share it here . . .
Like I said I grew up in California, I was born in Santa Rosa, Ca on April 19th 1983, I had a simple and pretty good childhood with a rather great family. I have wonderful parents and a pretty great sister( I didn’t always think so as I was growing up, but now I know the simple pleasures of having a sister as my best friend, she also gave me my nephew Asher who I adore). When I was nine I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, I was fortunate enough that it didn’t affect any of my major organs, but on the flip side of that it was in my eyes.
When I was around the age of twelve, I was given the diagnosis of secondary glaucoma. At thirteen I had my first in a fairly long line of surgeries to help control the pressures and remove the cataracts in my eyes.
When I turned twenty-one I took the first step of a major life change and moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. I left a lot of amazing friends and an amazing extended family. I met my now husband a few months after the move and was married to him in June of 2006. In 2008 I finished college and became a wedding planner. I love a good party and I live to decorate and make things beautiful and amazing for those around me.
In April of 2010 I woke up one morning with no vision in my right eye, I got an appointment with a specialist and found out I had blood vessels growing in the back of my eye that led to nowhere and were steadily bleeding. I underwent treatments and we got the bleeding under control and eventually stopped completely. But not before some major damage had been done. My doctor got me on the road to getting some help and I work each day with a small amount of remaining vision in my left eye.
So why do I tell you all of this? I tell you all because this is who I am, and those of you taking the time to read this have probably read at least one of my books and because of that you’ve helped to make this dream of writing and reaching out to others who love books, and vampires, and shifters and all things gorgeous and sexy . . . come true!
Life is a constant balance of what we want and what we need. It's also a lot like a Battle. A battle that we all have to fight in our own way. I chose to try and love and cherish every minute that I get to chase my crazy dreams and create a world and characters to get lost in.
Most Vampire books get old fast. This one has a different take which is unique. I love the taste of lore that we get. I also love Sophia and her unique gifts. The ancestor has me intrigued. I want more Dante, and I'd love to know more about Enoch. I can't wait to learn more about these vampires and other beings.
Resurrection Stone
I love Magen McMinimy's world. She pulls you and and keeps you hanging This portion has Dante coming back to her. He's jealous and brooding, and as much as I liked him in the first, and his great moments in this one, he had a few where I just wanted to smack him for some of his assumptions. Hey, everyone is flawed in some ways, his flaws are very believable. Sofia, I just love her. She's strong and may make mistakes, but she owns up to them. I can't wait to read more of the story. I'm still not sold on Ash, though I'm sure that will likely change at some point. And Sage, yeah, I love him. I've read the Primal series, so I know a bit of Tavian from there. I'm in need of catching up with this one. Overall though, I love this story, and this series.
Shadowed Memories
Yup, still love Magen's world, and totally love Sage and Sofia. Dante seemed to give up so easily after being sort of a prick in the last book but it works out well. Sofia and Sage just belong together. Ash doesn't see like such a bad guy now. I'm really curious to know more about Sofia's dad. Love the whole cast. I can't wait to have time to finish off the rest of the series. I definitely recommend this to Vampire and paranormal lovers.
Dark Soul
It's no secret I love Magen McMinimy's world. I'm sad to see Sarah leave it, but it makes sense. Poor Tavian being used as a pawn, tearing apart their little world.
Sage, oh I love him. Sofia is strong and has figured somethings out for herself. We get a bit more about Cain, and the witches. I am really enjoying this series.
This installment you get to meet some nasty ancient vampires. Sofia's cruel older brother has had a change of heart. Things still spiral out of control, but Sofia and her crew manage to find their way even with a few horrible turns for the worst.
I'm just wondering what comes next. I obviously need more time to read.
I have become enthralled, as the characters and the plot come together in this very intriguing series. It has unique twists and turns that draw you into this paranormal universe.
There is plenty of romance that develops throughout the four books without overwhelming the story. And while there are some hot & steamy scenes with the heroine and her love interest, it is all tastefully done.
As the plot continues to develop throughout the four books with twists and turns as enemies are found and battles are fought, I found that you can easily relate to the characters as they struggle with life’s ups and downs. You are continually drawn more and more into the story as each of the characters evolve, both mentally and physically throughout.
The author has created a drama filled world with romance and intrigue. The plot is well orchestrated, easily followed and leaves you wanting more. I am looking forward to reading the next books in the series.
I was given this book to read and review, I don't normally read about Vampires but I have to admit I love this book and the characters. Dante sounds like a nice slice of Heaven and Hell! There was a bit of everything in this book, even down to thinking whether Sophia and Dante would get it on! And what a twist in the plot, genius! A couple of spelling errors but hey we aren't perfect.
I can't wait to read the next instalment, thank you Magen :)
Magen McMinimy creates a whole new world to fall in love with, as well as a slew of characters to follow and become attached to. This is definitely a series worth reading!
I've reviewed each book, and will share my review of all the books included in this omnibus!
BLOOD CLAIM
Blood Claim is the first in Author Magen McMinimy’s Half-Blood Princess series, and tells the tale of Sophia Daletsky. Sophia is the daughter of a vampire and human, a half-blooded vampire. Her father is Cain, the original vampire, and her two brothers are some of the strongest of their kind. Unfortunately one of them, Irad, is on the hunt for Sophia after she disappeared eight months prior to the story.
In her attempt at hiding she finds herself in Maldera Springs, where she meets the Baikov brothers Dante and Tavian. They’re both vampires, and alongside them is a human named Sarah, who is very important to the vampire world. Sophia sets out to protect her, but ends up falling for one of the brothers; which only complicates things further.
I sincerely enjoyed this book, enthralled in Magen’s complicated world of vampires and their society. We only get a glimpse of it in this book, but I am definitely hooked. There is a whole new world in Magen McMinimy’s Half-Blood Princess series, and I am eager to delve further into it!
The only reason I give it anything other than five stars is because I felt it ended too quickly. There were a few time-skips I felt could have been utilized for more character development, but other than that the story and writing was magnificent and I highly recommend you pick this book up!
Four out of Five stars!
RESURRECTION STONE
Resurrection Stone is the second book in Author Magen McMinimy’s The consequence of unspoken secrets has left half-blood princess, Sophia Daletsky feeling alone and trapped. With Dante having turned his back on her and Kara slinking around with untold intentions Sophia turns to Tavian, Sarah and Rachel as she tries to adjust to her new powers and an unsure future as Protector of Maldera Springs. Things are never easy in the vampire world, as Sophia realizes as another part of her past catches up with her in this second installment of the Half-Blood Princess series.
Half-Blood Princess series, and continues the story of Sophie Daletsky; the Half-Blood Princess.
After the events of Blood Claim, Sophia is dealing with a whole new set of issues. She has laid claim to all of Maldera Springs, and that brings with it a bunch of ups and downs. She can now sense when a vampire enters the town, but she can also feel when they kill a human. She has grown stronger, as has her blood and its potency. Whenever a vampire drinks her blood, they become stronger, which is now a good aid in what Sophia knows is to come.
When her ex-fiancee arrives things in her world spin wildly out of control and she pulls all of her resources to protect the town and all of the people she loves inside of it.
I had given the previous book a four star rating due to pacing issues, but I feel Magen McMinimy has definitely fixed this issue in this book. It is much more action packed with more character development for all. I personally like Tavian, as he is very loyal to Sophia and his love Sarah. He stayed by Sophia’s side even when Dante couldn’t, and I respect his character.
Hopefully the next book will be even better!
Five out of Five stars!
SHADOWED MEMORIES
Shadowed Memories is book three in Author Magen McMinimy’s Half-Blood Princess series, and is by far the most awesome.
Half-Blood Princess Sophia Daletsky’s life has changed dramatically since resurrecting Sage from the dead, discovering that the two of them are connected by an ancient prophecy that will determine not only their future, but also the future of everyone around them.
Time starts to run out as a new enemy makes itself known, determined to steal away from Sophia and Sage two things that they are willing to die for: their twin children.
With this new enemy coming closer to steal away the twins, Sophia and Sage bring together all of their friends, family, and allies to stop this menace from destroying the entire world.
Fast-paced, action filled, and passionate, Shadowed Memories is by far my favorite out of the series. Sophie has decided to become romantically involved with Sage, a minor character in book one and a pivotal character in book two. This causes tension between some of their friends, but Sophia handles it all like a champ and smacks a few heads to get things straight haha! Magen McMinimy has done it again with this book and I look forward to reading book four!
Five out of Five stars!
DARK SOUL
In the fourth book of Author Magen McMinimy’s Half-Blood Princess series Sophia Daletsky finds herself and her makeshift family preparing for trouble. Zillah, the new badie in town, is raising an army to take down Sophia and to kidnap her twins Andre and Ashlyn to start a new race of witch/vampire subordinates. Retreating to her father’s castle, Sophia and her lover Sage begin training alongside all their friends in order to fight back when Zillah makes her move.
Filled with intense passion and brilliantly written, Magen McMinimy does it again with this installment in her amazing series. New mythos are revealed and new enemies arise in order to make Sophia’s already difficult life more difficult. just as you think Sophia is about to break she pulls through and kicks some ass!
I sincerely enjoyed this book and everything it entailed. Author Magen McMinimy doesn’t stop in her ability to keep you locked into her world and doesn’t let you go until she deems worthy. I highly recommend you read this book!

Five out of Five stars!
All in all, I give the entire series FIVE out of FIVE stars!
This was an extremely well-written fast-paced series—All of the characters had their own personalities and discernible abilities. The plot was good and moved quickly. It was a bit predictable at time and did leave some story lines open. Hoping the next box set answers all questions-will be reading to find out…
This book was splendid. Wonderful writing with a storyline that will make you question everything. Friendships, new love, old love and a family that won’t let you down. They all stand together and make things right. This book also has a lot of Vampire history and when the danger is immediate, each and every character brings what they must to defend and protect. This is a must read.

This is such a great series. I had problems putting it down. Magen kept me on my toes while reading it. There were twists and turns that I didn't see coming at all, as well as unexpected surprises.
Blood Claim~ Great read that I could not put down. I have been reading nothing but Magen's books this weekend and I'm so mad at myself for not reading them sooner. I was burnt out on the same old vampire stories over and over again, this was a breath of fresh air for the genre.
Sophia is not your normal vampire. She is the half blood princess, that most people don't think really exists. She is on the run from her brother and ex, while trying to save "the ancestor" from one of her brothers. I loved most of the characters, Irad and Kara, mostly. But every story needs someone to hate. I can't wait to read the other books in this series. Magen is becoming one of my new favorite authors, that I will buy anything she writes. I'm hooked!!
Resurrection Stone~ This book picks right back up where the first one left off. There wasn't a boring part to this book at all. Sophia is still trying to protect everyone, no matter what the cost is to herself.
I do have to say, I really like Sage!!
Magen has me so hooked on this series, I can't wait to start to next book!
Shadowed Memories~ All I can say about this book is.....WOW! I was not expecting all the twists and turns and surprises. This is such an awesome series, I can't read it fast enough. Can't wait to see what book 4 has in store for Sophia, Sage, Dante and everyone else!
Dark Soul~ Wow. Absolutely love this story. Sophia is an amazing character, well all of the characters are! Zillah brings a war to them on the island. She has allies she should not have. Along with powers she shouldn't have either. Will Sophia, Sage, the guardians, and the coven be able to stop her? You will not be disappointed with this series at all.
Blood Claim McMinimy's Blood Claim is a fun, sexy start to her Half Blood Princess series!
There was just enough story to sense a strong, beginning, and end, but it also acted as a strong set up for what is sure to be a fun series. Though the book is short, there's enough character development for you to develop an attachment (or at least understanding) of the characters. She weaves in some biblical and historical mythologies, giving her vampires and slayers a greater meaning and purpose.
I can't wait to read the next one!
Resurrection Stone Mcminimy chooses the perfect spots to start and stop each of the stories in this series. Enough resolution not to be frustrating, but just enough of a cliffhanger to keep you reading more! In Resurrection Stone, we get a chance to see some of Sophia's weaknesses, while her relationship with Dante hangs in the balance. It was also fun to get to know some of the characters who were only hinted at in Blood Claim. There were a few big surprises in the form of twists and turns, and I had to re-read the final pages to make sure what I thought happened, happened. Yep, it did! On to the next…
Shadowed Memories The twist with Sage and Sofia/Sophia was a complete surprise for me, but in a believable way. The interwoven past, and the prophecies tied to Sophia's existence start to make sense here, and really come to life. Love Sage, though I remain a big Tavian fan :) I feel like the build up in the series is intense, and well-handled in McMinimy's hands.
Dark Soul What a fun conclusion to the first four Half-Blood Princess novels! What I think I like best about this series is that it isn't predictable. Most of the twists are unexpected, and a lot of fun. And Sophia is both a strong, and intriguing character, as is Sage, backed by a fun supporting cast. I'm looking forward to going and reading the next few as the series continues.
** I was given a copy of the complete book 1-4 so my review is based on that fact **
This was a good series with a slightly different spin on the Vampire origins (although it has been done before) with Cain being the original vampire. Sophie is his daughter to a human - the elusive Half Blood Princess. She is on the run from her brother and ends up in a sleepy town where she meets Sarah who unbeknownst to her is being hunted by vampires. Sophie realises who Sarah is and vows to protect her. In Blood Claim she manges to not let on to Dante and Tavian - two hot vampire brothers - who she really is, how I do not know as I would have thought with some things it would be obvious to them that she is one, though I guess that is where the whole half-blood comes into play.
From here the pace really picks as well as the action. She gets stuck in a love triangle that she needs to work out who she really has feelings from as in Resurrection Stone when she saves someone buy giving them her blood and sees their past, which she is involved in!
Over all the 4 books I read were good and all thought slightly different from the usual vampire stories out there I did enjoy the world and history that McMinimy created. I am glad to have read in one box set rather than individually, I think it helped with the flow of the books. The fourth part has some twists and turns and I am happy with who she ended up and I cant wait to read more of Sophie and the rest of them.
This four book box set is an Amazing read. Sophia is such an amazing and powerful woman. She puts her family and friends first and does whatever it takes to protect them whether they are, humans, witches, vampires, ex lovers or family. As you read the books in the set you will see Sophia grow and become the person she was born to be and her relationships with her family and friends. You will see why each one touches her and even her ex lovers are still a very big part of her life. Magen is a great story teller and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next as each event or person is revealed. In each book you will learn more in-depth information about the characters. Now I am on to read set 2 to see how this all comes together.
So good it kept me reading all night. Just could not put it down because I had to know what would happen next. Wrapped up nice and clean no real cliff hangers but still leaves you wondering what's in store in the next books! Going to read the next box set today
