"Tomorrow may never come." Have you heard the statement before?" The paranormal genre is immersed in this sentiment, intimately sharing the sensation with its readers. Pick up any paranormal romance and you will get the feeling of being lost in time and space.

I enjoy writing paranormal romance. My latest book, Blood & Magic, Book Three of Shadow Company finds J.T. Leighton, ex-SEAL and vampire as the newest member of Shadow Company. When Jessie Colter, his former lover shows up out of the blue needing their brand of assistance, he can't resist her. Keeping his true identity a secret from her proves harder than he imagined. The Sultan kidnapped Jesse's parents and J.T. risks his dead life to help her get them back. Available now at Amazon.

I like these characters. Celia is a half-breed Comanche, Seth is a Texas rancher. They've loved each other since they were young, and a distance of years hasn't made the difference either thought it had. When tragedy brings they together, Seth is determined that he won't lose her again. Catherine is a new writer with a strong voice. Her portrayal of the prejudice of the time is spot on. I'll be watching for her next works.

Excellent story and characters. They come alive as they struggle with their inner feeling for one another and the situations they find themselves in.

I'm not really a fan of western romances or I wasn't until I read about Seth and Celia. I loved this book by Catherine Wolffe! It's a must read for any fans of western romances.

I came to this book in a long about way. I had found a paranormal romance by Catherine Wolffe, The Lady in the Mist. It caught my attention and I started to read it. In about the second chapter, there is some back history for a family mentioned that gave me pause. This made me search the author's book list closer, and I put it together that Comanche Haven tells the background story for the family mentioned. So I felt it necessary to start with THIS book and then go back to the other.

Even though Comanche Haven is not a paranormal, it is a very well done western historical romance. This is the first work I have read from author Catherine Wolffe. I have not read this genre of story in quite some time, it was a nice change of pace for me. As with many e-books, there were a few mis-spelled or misplaced words. I feel this is an editor issue, not always just the author. I found the storyline flowed well, it has suspense and danger elements. Most importantly, it was believable. I FELT the characters emotions. For me that is a MUST to REALLY enjoy a book!

The tale centers around the woman Celia, and Seth Loflin, a Texas born rancher. Celia is the daughter of a Comanche chief and a white woman. Her father calls her Little One, the world she lives in calls her "half-breed". Author Wolffe does an amazing job of giving the reader a glimpse into the hardships of life for a woman on the Texan frontier. How much harder they get when you are the product of two worlds, worlds that are on the brink of war with each other. This story gives insight into what can happen when the prejudices around you can dictate the flow of your life, how dreams are more difficult to believe in. Where does love fit in for the people in those worlds? All these struggles are addressed in Comanche Haven, and then some. I am VERY glad I read this book, and very eager to get back into The Lady in the Mist!

This is the first works I have read from this author, and I would look for more in the future. I liked Comanche Haven even though I found it hard to follow the story line at some times. Some things were really rushed and it left out things that I thought would have been important.. ex like during the fight she was holding Red Bears sash.. Well, what happened exactly to him, who killed him? The Rangers? So many people in the book just disappeared and were never read about again, or the people would just be in another place and time leaving me scratching my head. Maybe they will be in another book? The book flowed ok, but could have been so much smoother.
Now all that is said let me tell you what I did like about the book. I loved that no matter what love won out. And I found that I loved how the characters are so well developed and detailed. I eagerly look forward to reading about Broken Horse! I hope his story will not be left out. And boy when this author wants you to think of someone as a bad guy, whew, they are some really bad guys. I wanted to yell at the Ranger thru my Kindle. And maybe I missed it but who was the stalker stranger looking at them from the alley, the Ranger?
I am hoping there is more to come. Like a book for Ty, and say…. Broken Horse.. Perhaps Charles. I think I can tell who Maggie will set Charles up with.
Wonder what the world I am talking about, and who these people are? Get the book. You’ll be hooked, I was.

Review: The words painted a picture that I don’t think I would ever get out of my mind. I felt like I was transported to the past. I was shocked at the emotions that this book awoke inside me.

The setting was jumping off the page. It showed how each detail of this book was designed to work together to make a picture that the reader would not forget.

The story line had ups and downs that had me on the edge of my seat. I hated the bad guy, Brannon, for many reasons and others not in the book.

Seth is a cowboy I could and did fall in love with. He is my new book Boyfriend! Wow, I wish I could jump inside of this book and take him from Celia!

Don’t get me wrong, Celia is a great character. She was strong willed and stayed that way through out the book, made me love her. As she is a great character, Seth is a greater character to handle someone like her.

The ending was at the same pace as the rest of the book. It ended just where I thought it would. I was very satisfed with it.

If someone likes Lori Wilde’s way of writing, they would love this book even though it is not the same branch off of Romance.

Quote: I love this quote. This is what loving someone is about.
“You want me to stay? You want me to stay and give you a chance?” Slowly she moved away from his hold. She’d never be able to keep her face blank if she remained in his arms and she didn’t want him to see the sheer joy dancing across her face at that moment.

“I will make a believer out of you, Little One, I promise. Say you’ll stay.”

“You actually want me to stay after all that’s happened? What kind of life would that be for either of us?”

He stepped toward her and his next words showed desperation. “Yes, I do. It would be our life together. Just say you’ll try.”

I won this book in a contest and was asked for an honest review.
I really wanted to love this book but my mind kept wandering while reading it. Although it drew me in at certain areas overall it was just to simplistic for me. The dialogue between the main characters Seth and Celia was not overly interesting. The secret that Celia kept fromSeth was really not that big of a secret.
There were several secondary characters and almost to many. Again not much depth to the characters or dialogue.
I found the most frustrating thing in the book was the way Seth and Celia distrusted each other and then in the next sentence they are dreaming of what it would be like to reveal their feelings and then thinking they can never let them know. It just got old.
I see potential in the future books but not sure if I would rush out to start the next one.

I personally had a hard time with this book because of the time frame which was the mid 1800’s and was unable to finish it.

The characters themselves were very well written and developed. Celia, a half-breed Comanche and Seth a Texas rancher are very likable.

The book begins the day she returns home to Texas and very quickly the story takes off. It’s very easy to see that the readers will get an idea of what happened in those years between the white man and the Indians.

If you like western romances or western books that take place in the 1800’s than you will most likely love this book.

If you believe in second chances and love cowboys the you need this book. Seth is the son of a wealthy rancher and Celia is an Indian Chiefs daughter. They fell in love but were torn apart when they were younger. Celia arrives back in town several years later to find her family murdered and no one to turn to but Seth. They find they may still have feelings for each other or it could be that their lives are on the line. Can they find their way back into each other's heart? I won't tell, you will want to read this to see!
