I would give this a 10 star if it was available. Amazing book that opened my mind as C++ developer in the mid 1990s. I still have it treasured in my 'most valued' book section.

A good book, but it's not aged well. The community could do with a revised version of this book for the post STL times and the advent of many new features of c++11 and the continuing growth of the language. There's a lot of good stuff for beginners, but beginners won't know where the good stuff ends, so I can't recommend it in this state to anyone other than c++ historians or those interested in the roots of design patterns.

Abandoned. I was hoping it was a precursor to Design Patterns, but it's more about programming in
C++ pre-stl.
