I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Richard Stratton books I’ve read about the APBT being one of my favourite breeds. Though I do believe that like most who love dogs there’s obviously some exaggeration on the breeds’ abilities. Though, not the worst offender (that would go to the Plott Hound book) but it had its moments. Otherwise it’s a decent look into the commentary of the American Pit bull terrier and its whole reason for existing.

I want to write more, but I’m having a hard time getting my thoughts in order. Maybe I’ll update this in the future.

I want to add as a little PSA, that this: “it’s all how you raise them” line is complete nonsense. When you are considering a dog breed to look into their pasts, and see what they were bred for. It’ll give you a pretty basic idea what type of problems may be waiting for you in the future. Especially, if you don’t get your dog doing other things that help curb these urges that are built in genetically.
