professor escaja had us read her play and i loved it. the play actually came out of the discussions and content from our class with some personal experience. it was such a cool story that basically told the story of spain across three generations of women. i really liked the parallels between mother and daughter and the ways the women were shaped by society during their formative years. i wish you all could read and spanish and take this class cuz this book felt like such good closure for the course.
I read this book for my book club. Although it is not a novel but a play, I enjoyed reading it. I was excited to learn that the story was almost autobiographic. Three generations of women relate their on experiences on growing up as a woman during the different times ranging from Franco-era society to the 20th century when women have more control over their own decisions over who they marry and the path they want to follow in life. Highly recommend this book!
