The book itself had a lot of information and was accessible to all education levels and useful in some settings. However, the book is incredibly outdated in the information provided and does not cover addictions outside of alcoholism and some drug use. I question its use as a modern textbook considering it was published before the DSM-5 came out and only provides a rudimentary understanding of addiction information known in 2007, thus making it obsolete today.
