Carlos Ruiz Zafón was a Spanish novelist known for his 2001 novel La sombra del viento (The Shadow of the Wind). The novel sold 15 million copies and was winner of numerous awards; it was included in the list of the one hundred best books in Spanish in the last twenty-five years, made in 2007 by eighty-one Latin American and Spanish writers and critics.

Μόλις ανακάλυψα πως υπάρχει κάτι του Carlos Ruiz Zafón που δεν είχα διαβάσει ακόμα, έτρεξα. Τώρα μου μένει μόνο η επανάγνωση των έργων του, οπότε στηρίζομαι στις μεταφράσεις (ελπίζω να κυκλοφορήσει η Τριλογία της Ομίχλης κάποια στιγμή και στα ελληνικά).

Έχουν περάσει πάνω από έξι μήνες από το θάνατο του αγαπημένου μου ισπανού συγγραφέα και σχεδόν είκοσι χρόνια από την 11η Σεπτεμβρίου 2001. Ιστορίες από την τρομοκρατική επίθεση στο Word Trade Center που ξυπνούν μνήμες, συγκινούν, ξυπνάνε. Λόγω μεγέθους προτείνεται τόσο στους λάτρεις του Zafón όσο και όχι.

Wow! Such tension and you promptly realize where you’re and what’s about to happen there, following a series of characters we follow the developments of that day and I couldn’t stop reading it, short and very intense.

Honestamente estuve perdida casi todo el cuento si no fuera por el final. No es la típica narración que usa Carlos Ruiz Zafón y por eso creo que me costó un poco encontrarle el gusto. Pese a ello, fue un excelente cuento y una honesta manera de ver hechos tan trágicos.

Así es el pequeño relato de Carlos Ruiz Zafón que nos transporta a los atentados del 11 de septiembre en las Torres Gemelas de Nueva York de una manera conmovedora y única, como solo él sabe hacer, por grande o pequeña que sea su creación literaria. El mismo estilo, ambiente y tipo de historia que impregna a Ruiz Zafón.

This was one of the most brutal, overwhelming and sad stories I've ever read.
A painful description of the terror lived on 9/11, the beautiful shine of hope, the excruciating sorrow of the lives lost and the beauty of the human kindness that always appear when we seem ready to give up on the humanity.
Without a doubt a story that stays with you and makes you think. Makes you feel happy about being alive.

Estremecedor y arrollador relato sobre los atentados del 11-S en el que se plasma la destreza, retórica y narrativa, impecable propia de Zafón.
Este breve cuento de catorce páginas es un homenaje a las víctimas, una loa a la esperanza y a "la fuerza de vivir": una exaltación de la primacía del amor sobre el odio.

Muy buen cuento, describiendo las perspectivas de los personajes mas comunes en la tragedia del ataque terrorista del 11 de septiembre del 2001 en el antes, durante y despues de lo ocurrido. Te hace vivir con los personajes cada esas experiencias.
