James Thrall Soby (1906-1979) was an American art critic, connoisseur, collector and patron of the arts.
He held a number of roles at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York and helped organize one of the earliest museum retrospectives of Picasso's work in the United States at the Wadsworth Atheneum in 1934.
