Our girls are so excited to start their summer reading program. We visited our local library today and got their logs and both wanted to read a book right away so they could log a book. Our youngest picked out this book and I was impressed with her enthusiasm. Often, she gets frustrated if the book is too long or has difficult words. But she read the whole book with very little help from me and she dutifully noted it on her log. Only twenty-nine more books and she'll get a prize.
Overall, this was a fairly bland story, but the narrative was simple and the illustrations are fun. She liked that it looked like crayon coloring (albeit very good crayon coloring) and the expressions on the characters faces are humorous.
