Whether it shows the outline of the venerable Water Tower seen against the heights of a new high-rise or a marquee of a vintage movie palace, this book offers a fresh and imaginative perspective that gives readers a totally new appreciation of Chicago. 200 color photographs.
I love city photo fantasia books like this; they make you feel like you're traveling without leaving home. This one has a large color photo of the lobby of the Drake Hotel that makes you feel like you're in the room. Of course, I've been there before, but this is a nice reminder of what it looked like. Maybe it still looks the same. Lots of nooks and crannies and details along with more familiar sights and panoramas. This is a very splendid photographic tour guide. I get lost in books like this.
