Rumors. Magic. Secrets. Attraction.

While 17 year old Alexis Maher never thought she would live an ordinary life, she wasn't sure she would survive the kind of excitement she had now. After breaking up with her boyfriend of nearly a year he proceeds to spread rumors about her, making her one of the most hated juniors of Crescent Point High. If that wasn't enough, her grandmother dropped a bombshell. Alexis is about to come into her Druid powers, and it isn't going to be a pleasant process either. While most teens would welcome becoming psychic and telekinetic, Alexis isn't one of them.

Just when her life is falling apart she meets Christian Marino, a gorgeous, mysterious senior whom she falls for faster than she would have ever thought possible. But her ex-boyfriend turned stalker takes exception to their rapidly developing relationship, and he's becoming increasingly dangerous. Then it becomes apparent that Christian has secrets of his own.

Somehow she has to safely transition into her powers, uncover Christian's secret and save them both from Nicolas's vengeance.

From the moment Anne Violet read her first romance novel as a teenager she knew she wanted to be a writer. She grew up in a home where Star Trek was continuously on, so it's only natural that sci-fi, fantasy and the paranormal become her favorite genres, and her favorite writing influences today. Don't be surprised to find her at a local sci-fi convention or medieval fair.

I'm wondering if I read (and couldn't even finish) the same book as everyone else here...

It seemed to me that this book was written for my 12 year old self. I rolled my eyes so many times, I got a headache. Anyone who thinks that this was a good story, needs to actually read Richelle Mead...or Kim Harrison...or ANYONE else.

I LOOOOVED this book from page one. In Enchant Me, Mrs. Violet builds a world in which the impossible seems possible with her depth of the character's emotions and detailed description of locations. I love the character of Alexis because she is strong and vulnerable at the same time and understands the world in a way many adults are still trying to figure out. Christian oh Christian. Christian is "beautiful" even if he would wish you'd use another word and kind, and sweet and loving. He is by no means perfect; he has his demon's he's wresting with that hinder complete faith and love. When Alexis first sees Christian time stands still. Alexis and Christian's relationship develops fast but in a believable way. They both have to rehash a past that they wish would stay buried but is necessary to fully commit to each other. Secrets. Lies. Magic. Stalking. Are just some things Alexis and Christian have to deal with in order to be together.

I pick songs for books I read and these are them. Christian before he officially meets Alexis Michael Bublé - "Haven't Met You Yet". When Alexis and Christian first meet and relationship developing Savage Garden - I Knew I Loved You. Christian and Alexis at Prom Michael Bublé - "Save The Last Dance For Me". Alexis song to Christian and vise versa Until You Came Along - JJ Heller.

I am enchanted! I thought this was great paranormal romance grounded in Druid Religion practices. Alexis was a strong and unique girl that immediately drew me into the story. She was artistic and slightly punk and outspoken. The story begins as Alexis meets Christian while taking pictures for the school newspaper at an art exhibit where Christian is showing his paintings. The attraction is instant but they really don't meet. The next day at school an unknown senior girl drops off a small gift to her in her first period. It is a drawing of her celtic Knot Tatoo asking her to Prom from Christian. Strangely, the fact that don't know each other doesn't stop them or feel weird to me. I loved the instant attraction and Christian is just HOT! The chemistry is instant and I loved the romance of their relationship.

Alexis is Irish and her Grandmother sits her down to tell her that the Druidism that they practice means she is going to get powerful special abilities. At first she runs away, not wanting to face the possibly of being so different and fighting the headaches and visions. Soon, she cannot hid from her true heritage. She is worried Christian will think her a freak but Christian has some secrets of his own. This was a great romance and well worth the price!

The book was OK.
I really liked the characters, which is important for me as a reader; if I don't like the characters, the book is shot. Alex was refreshing: she strayed from the mold, but not so much that she was an outcast. And let's face it, she was a bad ass (you'll have to read to find out how). Christian was sexy in all the right ways, and sweet & caring, yet kind of scary sometimes.
It was nice to see how their relationship developed. However, I would've liked to see more of the friends, I felt like they were just there to fill in some holes.
And the book was developing nicely until the end. I felt like it kind of dropped at the end. I'm still left with some questions (like what happens to Christian and Alex in Ireland? Does Nicolas ever come out of his coma? How are Alex's powers when they're fully developed? Are they good for anything?). A sequel would be nice. Or an epilogue. Either way. I just feel like there's something missing.
Besides that, I didn't really get a good idea of the bad guy (Nicolas) till the end, and so I didn't really understand what was happening with him throughout most of the book.
However, I did like finding out about the Druids, and the Alex/Christian relationship was cute.

I honestly can't remember how I came across this novel on Amazon, but it was likely through my 'recommendations' page. I've been feeling the need to get back into a paranormal world and of course, I do love me some YA so this seemed the perfect fit. There weren't a lot of ratings to go off of and I kind of love that about a book. I enjoy reading what hasn't been over rated, publicized and read yet. Why? I honestly don't know but it probably has something to do with my ego loving to be among the first to say "I Loved It" before everyone else jumps on the wagon. haha.

Enchant me was a quick read and held everything I look for in a good YA paranormal romance! The story started strong and drew me in from the first page! The progression was very natural and unforced. While the events unfolded, the reader is given the needed information at the right time to be able to have a full understanding of what's going on, all without ever really being able to pin down "the plot". I love that about this story! So often I can accurately predict almost exactly how a story will play out by the end of chapter three. Anne Violet kept me guessing! The characters were unique but at the same time, completely reminded me of people I could find myself around in real life.

Alexis is her own person, marches to the beat of her own drum but manages to do it in a way that still allows her to blend seamlessly into society. High school drama has been hard on her, but she pushes through with a resolve to remain true to herself. The very level-headed girl's life is currently in turmoil after a nasty break-up with an even nastier Nicholas. We don't get all the details about this right off the bat and normally, that would have bothered me. However, the author did fill us in on all the 'need to know' at just the right moment, when it was essential to the story line. The mysterious Christen enters play at just the right moment and brings those butterflies to the story that I so look forward to in a YA read!

The romance between Christen and Alexis is sugar sweet, yet has some of those raging hormones begging to be obeyed. They fall fast which usually bothers me in a story but in this case, I could totally see it. Thinking back to being 17 myself, I remember how instantly your entire world can change and how you suddenly revolve around HIM, not the sun. When problems find the two of them, I literally felt punched in the gut! This wasn't a tear jerker for me but when I felt my heart breaking for them, I realized that I too, had fallen in love.

The paranormal aspect to this story came a little suddenly but after that, was really well played out. Many stories depict characters being suddenly thrust into a crazy world of witches, vampires, werewolves or something else otherworldly and just being catapulted into all the frenzy without any prior background in that world. Enchant Me actually had some build up and historical resonance behind all the Druid Magic, so I felt that it really progressed quite naturally. It made the way the characters had to 'switch gears' seem more believable.

When trouble finally came to paradise, I was really relieved to find that it did so in way that wasn't apocalyptic. By this, I mean that these young people didn't go from worrying about prom and grades one minute to saving the world (literally) the next. The "trouble in paradise" as I said is more indicative of what young people would ACTUALLY be faced with - a psycho ex-boyfriend was a much more believable hurdle to climb than so many other reads offer.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the world Anne Violet has created and I look forward to reading more of her work in the future. I see large talent and promise, as this story in particular just flowed in a way that comes from true writing talent! Having a story in your mind isn't always enough for a writer... being able to put it to paper eloquently is (I'm guessing) the larger challenge and I personally believe that this author has got the MAGIC TOUCH!

I read the reviews and I knew what to expect but even still, the constant make out scenes came as a surprise. It was allll making out. Don't get me wrong I'm all for hot hookups in a book to keep it interesting, but if anything the constant kissing that led to.....NOTHING got old really fast and it actually had an adverse affect and it quelled my interest. I disliked the novel for other reasons too, A) there seemed to be little to no character development. I felt like we just jumped into a relationship between Christian and Alexis. We barely knew anything about her or him by the end of the novel. Sure there were a few best friends, an absentee mother and a grandmmother but nothing really ABOUT them other than the grandmother with the grove and her boyfriend. By the end of the novel I felt no closure after everything was resolved because I never really got into it or the characters in the first place. B) I disliked the word choice, no teenager I've ever met has said "Say what?!" or reffered to someone as "their man" or "her man" or "his girl". However I liked the book because it was a romance, but I wouldn't even go so far as to call it a romance. It was more of a "like" story. Girl meets boy, girl likes boy, boy likes girl, they kiss, they know each other for a couple weeks then...BOOOM they are in love. There were makeout scenes and the words "I love you" were said but the novel contained no substance. The only thing that kept me going was the hint of "like" and hopefully some romance to come.....that never came.

Really cheesy with a lot of twilight-esque descriptions and dialogue with a kind of undeveloped plot. I think it might have had the potential to be a decent book if it developed the druid plot a bit more and focused a bit less on the guy's "taut stomach" and "chocolatey brown eyes".

I give this 3.5 stars. It was good and I loved the romance but that's all it was. I like a little more action. Its annoying reading nothing but how hot someone is or how much you love them.

This paranormal YA romance weaves teen angst with magic and danger. Alexis’s transformation into a Druid brings suspense and emotional upheaval, though the love story can feel rushed and trope-heavy. Still, the mystical elements and high school dynamics create an entertaining if slightly uneven ride, especially for readers who enjoy supernatural romance with a touch of drama.

"Enchant Me" is quick and interesting read about a 17 year old girl, Alexandra (Lexi) who discovers that she is developing certain strange powers. In addition, she is fighting off the unwavering attention of an ex boyfriend turned stalker. He has managed to turned many of the seniors against her and they are spreading rumors. Rather than confront the rumors Lexi just goes about her business.

Then, while photographing various artist's work at a school art show, Lexi sees the most handsome boy she has ever knew existed, Christian. He seems she cannot even build up her courage to talk to him. However, Christian is also staring at her as well. The next day at school, she receives a rose with an invitation to the prom from Christian. They begin to talk and soon they become a couple.

Lexi is too afraid to share her new gifts with Christian. However, he notices that whenever she is around him, she get severe headaches. Then, after Lexi has an accident during a motorcyle race Christian begins acting strange and soon breaks up with her. She is hurt and baffled but decides to enact a little revenge by stepping up her dress and flirting with all the cute boys. Christian is nonplussed.

Lexi spots her ex and is badly shakened. Will he grab her or is he going to punish her by attacking Christian? What are her powers and what is the secret Christian is holding back from her? To get these answers and more, you have to read the book.

While I enjoyed this book, I had some major problems with some of the concepts. First, the close so called love between Christian and Lexi happened way too quickly for me because the background and relationship development had not been established. Too much time was spent describing her day to day mundane activities and not enough time was devoted to character development. Also, I had problems with Christian not knowing his power; suddenly having complete mastery of it to the point that he had more knowledge than the local Druids. Thus, the reasoning behind my 3 star review. Even in my paranormal books, I need for things to make sense. However, read this book for yourself and decide whether or not these things bothered you.

**EDIT: I've recently re-read this book, and as an older reader, I can safely say that my view has changed. No longer did I love Christian. It was harder to finish this time, and I'm not going to re-read the sequel. Alexis still annoyed me, the whole Nicholas thing felt unnecessary and pretty much everything about it annoyed me. I re-read because I wanted to see what happened in the end because I'd forgotten, but my feelings towards it haven't changed. And while I said I would skip to the romance bits if I ever re-read, I did not do this. And I wouldn't, because looking back, they were crap. Rushed, unrealistic, repetitive and downright annoying.

ok so this book has left me seriously confused.
I wanted to hate it - I really did - but it's hard to do that when you have a stupid grin on your face for most of it.

The novel was definitely rushed, I mean, they were 'in love' after just seeing each other? No, I call bull s***. Alexis annoyed me greatly, and I'm pretty sure the only reason I continued with Enchant Me was because A, I had nothing left on my Kindle, and B, Christian. He saved the book for me, and as annoying as it was that he rushed into everything and did the whole 'breaking up to save her' thing, I still loved him. Which sucks for my reputation, let me tell you now. I'm a sucker for the darker guys and god do I wish that I could say differently.

Overall, there was really no climax, things just happened without me really noticing because I was so tuned out, only paying real attention when Christian was being awesome. The ending was very disappointing for me - sorry, Anne, but it's true - and could have been great if only more effort had been put into it's proper execution. I honestly missed what happened, and had to go back to understand that there was no more issue and I'd missed it all. Whoops.
Overall, I wished for much more than I received out of this book and if I ever reread it, I am sure that I will simply skip most of the story and head straight for the romance scenes and be done with it.

Horrible.
I am so sick of the male love interest being referred to as "beautiful". Yuck. A man should not be beautiful unless he is feminine. And who wants a feminine male unless you're a gay male? Not interested in beautiful men...I want a MAN. Just saying. But anyway how many times was Christian referred to as beautiful or perfect in this book? Too damn many. It really started to make me hate him as much as I hated Alexis.
She was a terrible character. She thought she was independent but she relied on having a possessive and dominant male...uh...such a hard ass. Not. Then she's all in her friend's business and gets mad if they interfere with hers? Such a wonderful friend she is. Very bossy and way too full of herself. I didn't like her at all.
What was this story really about exactly? Because most of it was about her drooling over Christian but never actually going anywhere with him. Then they backtrack for no good reason... Have to say I lost any respect I had for Alexis when she started using other guys and discarding them "ruthlessly" when she was done with her slut show. Such a catch!
Enough with the "electric shock connection" already! Cliche anyone? I swear that's in every single book I read. And I wonder where this started because it makes no freaking sense. And it just serves as annoyance to me. Come up with something original.
Uhm...why was Nicolas so hell bent on Alexis? I really want to know. There was nothing about her that made me think she was worthy of being stalked. I suppose the story could have been decent if there was a better background and oh I don't know, if it stayed on task a bit more. Even the ending was all over the place and it didn't really pertain to anything worthwhile. It was just extra random stuff that meant nothing.
All in all...this book was all over the place, and the story itself wasn't enough to save it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I've read alot of the other reviews on this book and was a little surprised. Alot of the people who have read this book didn't like it very much. It was to childish, to much kissing, blah blah blah. That doesn't mean i would not read a book because of a couple of bad reviews. My moto is if i like it ima get it. So i did and let me tell you this book was amazing! I can understand where others are coming from but i liked the plot and loved the characters. I never in a million years thought Alexis new Bf (Christen) had powers like her. i was on the edge of my seat about halfway through. Lex is a seductive, motorcycle riding photographer with powers of course. And christen is a sexy soccer playing artist who just so happens to have powers as well. They meet the kiss a few times and the WHAM their in love, just one problem, Alexis's psychotic ex is stalking her AGAIN! Will their love and new found powers be enough to make it through? I've heard that there is going to be another book but from Christens POV so i can not wait until this happens. The only reason i got this book was because it was .99 cents but It was worth it. Thank you Anne Violet for creating a masterpiece!

While I enjoyed reading this novel there were a few things that I didn't like. I wish that in reading this, that we were not thrown into the daily tasks that Alexis had gone through. I think a little is good, but do we need to know ALL of it.. all the unimportant things. I think that when this happens, maybe the writer has run out of things and needs to regroup, but I dont particularly like this kind of thing in a book. I can say though that I didn't feel bored at the information, just that I ... kept wondering, was this necessary.

I think that I would have liked to have gotten to know more about the Druid powers and what she and Christian could do rather than all the day to day tasks. And I thought it weird that Christian didn't know about his powers, but suddenly he knew he could help her.

With that said, I got a little teary eyed when he did save her.. soo :).

I will actually give this book 4.5 stars, because I did like the story, I was never bored.

Alexis's life seems to be falling apart. Then she meets Christian and things just get strange. She starts seeing visions of things that are about to happen. Soon she finds out that she is about to come into her druid powers. In the mix of finding Christian she has to deal with a stalker with druid powers as well, Christian hiding his druid powers from her and figuring out her own powers. Will this town ever be the same again?

For the last year or so I have been struggling to get into any book that deals with any kind of supernatural ideas, like magic, but this book was really good. The characters were different but interesting. The pace and flow were great. But oh the idea behind the book was fantastic. I even felt like I was a part of the book.

I will definitely be looking for the next book in this series. I will also be looking for other books by this author. I enjoyed her writing style and storytelling skills. Thank you for a fabulous book!

This book is AMAZING!!! I devoured it in literally twelve hours- and I mean ten at night to ten or so in the morning, during school hours, including sleep!! I was awestruck with how beautifully written it was, how intense and gripping the plot was, how relatable the characters were, and how every page left me yearning for more. As a writer myself, I understand how difficult it is to maintain a solid, slow-enough, yet quick enough pace-- in this novel, the pace is absolutely flawless. My only criticism is that the formatting was a bit off every couple of pages-- but since I purchased the kindle version, I understand completely!:) It didn't take away from the novel one bit.
This is an excellent read! I am SO EXCITED for the next book to come out! I hear it's from Christian's perspective...?
I am now officially an Anne Violet/Enchant Me fangirl! *squeals*

I am seriously on the the fence with this one, the first 250pgs were rather annoying basically revolving around Alexis infatuation with Christian. I was seriously wondering how in the hell I ended up with this crap on my kindle, but in the last part of the book when I found out about all the magical stuff (which should have been way earlier in the book) and then it came to an abrupt end???? Then I found out there is a less then 200pg sequel, to a 420pg novel size book? it would have made more since just to put the 2 stories together in this book and then cut out about 100pg at the beginning of just bullcrap 16 yr old boy infatuation!!! But because I like the last part of the story, I am going to read the 200pg sequeal, with great hopes!!!!

A good book. For me it was fast and easy read and the magic of Druids was different from what i read.
I loved Alex..she is such a strong headed, bad ass character..christian is sexy as hell and protective..i loved the chemistry between them.Their love, romance - the flow of story..though through end it could have been more good.
I also really wanted to know more about Nicholas..and what was that her grandmother said - it would effect you three - i hoped we know more of his side too.
Though i hope we would find more in the sequel to it about history of the magic and powers of Druids and more Alexis and Christian.
For a Debut it was GREAT!

This wasn't a book where I could say wow everything was great and it left me wanting more, When it comes to sequels I don't like reading one after another because then I get bored, for me I have to read a book and then come back months later and read the 2nd book for me to really enjoy it. This book was good another YA read. I like the magical aspect of it and I like the 2 main characters mostly the male character christian he was a good guy and a strong character. I would recommend this to anyone who would want something different and a different take on a story. I will read the second one once I've had some time to forget about the first book so I could get excited and into it again.

This is an interesting story about family secrets, magic, a scary stalker, and falling in love. The basic premise is a little familiar. Alexis, the protagonist comes of age only to find that there is a family secret that affects her. Her soulmate, Christian, has secrets of his own. There are also unique elements that set this story apart from similar ones. Author Anne Violet infuses a lot of imagination into this book.

The many punctuation and sentence structure problems in this book make it a difficult read for me. I am always particularly bothered by grammar and punctuation mistakes.

Otherwise, I like the story, and I like the characters. It is a good young adult book. 3 stars

Engrossing - I loved it! Alexi captured my attention from the first. Even though she's a teen with something slightly different to offer the world, I liked that her character is confident, self-assured and not mired in dark teen angst. Don't get me wrong, she has her moments but they seem to only make her more realistic.

The ex? I wasn't feeling it. I think he should have been a little more visible. Loved Christian.

I was also happy the book rounded everything up in two books. I'm getting pretty tired of everything being a serial where you're five or six installments in and still nowhere near the end.

Enchant Me was perfect.

I thought this was a sweet and quirky book. Alexis the main character is a wild child, that has this delicious edgy side with her flaming non-natural red hair & high end Hayabusa motorcycle. She has good friends, a crazy stalker ex-boyfriend and hater senior girls that torment her post break up.
In steps Christian! HOTTY MCBODY! As their relationship just to warp speed so does her "Druid powers" interesting paranormal twist for me.
The story is nice, a little long but it kept my attention. The ending is lovely. I really love Lex & Christian.... A follow up would be nice.

I think the relationship between Alexis and Christian went too fast, but it was still a nice read. I guess I just like when the main characters resist each other a little until they have to admit their feelings. Oh well, still a good time passer.

This book was alright. The intro spoke of Druidism, mystic powers and a love interest with mystery. There was a little bit of mystery, a little bit of maybe Druidism, some mystic powers.. And a whole lot of the gushy first love make out sessions that are every young teenage girls fantasy. I think I can honestly say that the main characters spend atleast 90% of the book making out. Now I love a good romance any day but this was just a little too gushy and not enough plot and story line that was followed or developed enough.

Started this book the other night hoping it would live up to the standards of its description. However, I'm really disappointed as to how it's been structured and the lack of drama. Alexis and Christian's relationship seemed to appear out of no where, it was just too sudden and I keep hoping for a big build up to some dramatic scene or more about being a Druid. Nonetheless, nothing like that appears to have happened. I've read over 60 books of similar genre and this is one of the worst I've read so far. Not sure If I will continue reading or not.

Ugh, this was unfortunately a DNF for me (I read through about 30% then skimmed through to the end). The whole story was way too rushed, the character development was almost non-existent, and I just felt like the writing was very sophomoric compared to many other stories in this genre.

The concept for the story wasn't bad, I think if more time and development had been put into it this would have been good. It's just nothing new, though, so I'm giving it a 2.5 stars.
