Jason Taniss was a family man, first and foremost. He loved his grown daughters and he was learning to tolerate his vampiric sons-in-law. But as a Lupoiux werewolf he longed for his own mate. She was out there waiting for him, somewhere. He just had to find her.
Dr. Annabelle Macgregor ran faster than she ever had before. Her scientific mind refused to accept what she'd seen. Werewolves did not exist.
Jason knew the rogue wolves wouldn't stop until they caught the lone female human; he knew what they would do to her if they caught her, too. As an employee of Taniss Industries, the woman was his responsibility to protect. He'd do just that.
But when Jason caught Anna's scent, one thing became clear...she was his mate...
Anna had been in a relationship with a dominant man before, and that experience was the last thing she wanted to repeat. She'd had to start over before, and it wasn't something she ever wanted to do again.
Jason would do anything to change her mind.
(Also includes "The Healer's Heart", a short story featuring Jason's younger daughter Jade and her mate Barlaam.)
Calle Jaye is fun, playful, ironic, professional and sophisticated. She’s super-educated in the field of fiction and would spend most of her time walking around in “Book World” (or”eBook World”).
Does she have slight control freak tendencies? Yep. Why else would she chose to self-publish?
In her day job she gets to read romance novels. In her night job she gets to write them!
Her favorite color is bold purple. She likes rock like Kid Rock, Shinedown, and Nickelback. Add in a bit of Anastacia and Adelle, too.
She collects rocks. Watches crime dramas. Abhors Lifetime Movies and Titanic (especially Leo…) and refuses to read or write about sparkly teen vampires.
She’s married to a cop she strongly suspects is a vampire. They’ve made vampire babies, too.
They live in Indiana with their vampire relatives and their vampire dogs.
While this is a short story, the author would do well to get an editor for it as it does have a few mistakes in the grammar. Not over the top but a few.
The plot is well written, but not finished with Dr North floating out there and a danger to his mate. This story feels slightly rushed when your reading it. Has no major twists to hook you to the story more of a filler book.
The healers heart is included in this book which surprised me. Which was also more of a filler book.
I'm not sure how to really describe my opinion on this story. From the beginning I was straight away hooked in. I loved the setting, character's, relationships and the general way it was unfoling then it just finished and went into the next story. I found it too abrupt. It had the making of a fantastic tale and I would have loved to continue reading about the family and te obvious villain. I was quite disapointed just for the fact it was brilliant up to the end point. Does that make sense?
Book seven in the Dardanos series is a short story. I loved getting a closer look at Jason Taniss. He's protective and loving towards his daughters and that only intensifies when he finds his mate. Anna has survived an abusive relationship and it has caused her to spend too much of her life hiding. Once Jason crosses her path he pushes and cajoles her out of her self imposed exile from life. I love that as pushy as he got the decisions were always in Anna's hands. Adultish read

This was a fun, well done short read. I am looking forward to other books in the series. The world she created is fun and different. I hope the story continues. The only thing that bugged me is that some of the places where it needed to say you are, it was replaced by the contraction you're and it did not fit. Yep, I am a big old nerd like that.
I loved this novelle. some errors but not distracting. I love how the girl anna had gone through one of those hoorible relationships and ran away and rebuilt her life. very empowering. I also love that she gives love a second chance even if she swore she wouldn't. get story, plot and characters!
This really caught and kept my attention. It had a great story line and a lot of depth with all the surrounding stories and personalities. But it felt as soon as the story had really begun..it was over. I knew it was a novella but it could've been so much more.
Great potential, but definitely a short story. I wish the books in this series were more developed giving depth into the characters and had more details about the underlying story. it would also be nice if they didn't end so abruptly
