A great book on the Baltimore Orioles 1983 season that saw them win the World Series, Baltimore's last as of 2020. You'll learn a lot about Cal Ripken and Eddie Murray of course, but also other stars like Ken Singelton and Jim Palmer in the twilight of their careers. You'll learn about Rick Dempsey, Scott McGregor, Mike Flanagan, Mike Boddiker, Todd Cruz, Dan Ford, Tippy Martinez, Dennis Martinez and many many more. I'm not even an Orioles fan (LA is my team) but I enjoyed this one a lot. The author talks about just about every single game, but also strays away shortly to talk about certain players, even players that had minor roles but came up big in a few games. This book is a MUST for Orioles fans and will be appreciated greatly by anyone who likes Major League Baseball. The only problem I had with this book was a few errors, such as the number of wins during the regular season by Boddicker and some years that were wrong. Other than that, good stuff.

Terribly written. I love the Orioles, but I had to force myself to not quit reading this book and keep turning the pages.

Reads like a first draft untouched by any editor more powerful than a spellcheck.
