Let CREATIVITY flow and the Divine Author Within will GROW. Tom Bird really knows how to reach inside the heart of a budding writing and draw out the Divine Author Within. His extensive personal research on the craft of writing is fused with a deeply thoughtful approach to awaken the inner muse and keep the ideas flowing. He proves that setting time limits and expectations for writing, then taking time to clear your mind and open yourself to rapid inspiration is the best way to give birth to a novel. Get the ideas out there. Get the words on paper so they can be real.
Tom teaches techniques for letting go of the critical logical mind and giving the CREATIVE mind permission to be free. He shows how to live up to your highest potential, not just in writing, but to use these simple guidelines to bring out the best in all aspects of your life. Written with tons of quotes from famous authors, leaders, and creative minds that show that his way of thinking has been implemented by successful people for a long time. Creativity needs to flow. Stop thinking, and LET IT GO.
I did not purchase the additional audio CD that goes with this book, but wish I had it for my own writing. On it, Tom describes that the CD helps relax the mind, center your thoughts, then provides a soothing background to listen to as your writing. I would love to try it. Tom also offers retreats where participants go to ACTUALLY write their book in a weekend. It sounded fantastic!
A must read for all aspiring writers. I highly recommend absorbing the knowledge and wisdom that Tom Bird has given in this book and applying it to your own creative endeavors.
