A far too simplified version of the original...at least that seemed to be my 3 year old niece's opinion when I read to her the Little Golden Book/Walt Disney version of Peter Pan. What ever happened to the topnotch product Little Golden Books used to put out? Okay, so maybe it's been about 40 years since I've read one and just maybe my literary quality requirements have changed, but I recall these stories having more substance. Oh who am I fooling? The bottom line is I've turned into a crotchety old coot who gets annoyed by every little thing. I don't know what my niece's beef is though.

Gives off Super White Saviour vibes and an uncomfortable representation of indigeneity. I probably would not read again.

This book is about a young boy named Peter Pan that lives in Neverland. In Neverland you never grow older. Peter Pan goes on a search to find his shadow that he lost. He later finds himself in London listening to Wendy telling her younger brothers John and Michael stories. After the stories Peter Pan goes into the room and finds his shadow and Wendy helps attach it back to him. Later that night Peter puts magic fairy dust on all three of them and they fly to Neverland where they fight pirates and go on adventures with Indians and mermaids.

The main character in this story of course is Peter Pan. He is a young boy that lives in Neverland and never wants to grow up. He lives with a bunch of boys from the Indian tribe. The next character is Captain Hook. He is the rival of Peter Pan. The reason why Captain Hook hates him so much is because Peter made Captain Hook lose one of his hands. Another character in this book is Wendy. She is a young girl in this story that meets Peter after she is done telling stories to her younger brothers. After that she goes on adventures with Peter and they fly to Neverland.

In this book the main setting is Neverland and the time period is around the 1950s. Neverland is a place where there are golden rainbows and blue waterfalls. It had beaches and deep forests. In Neverland it is never gloomy and you never grow older. In Neverland there is an Indian camp, mermaids and even pirates.

In this book the main theme is about growing up. In the beginning of the story Wendy talks about how she will not be able to tell her little brothers stories anymore because she is growing up. This is when Peter Pan flies in looking for his shadow and tells them a place where they will never grow old so they can listen to Wendy tell stories forever. So then they end up flying to Neverland so they never get older. Throughout the story Peter tries to make growing up sound bad and tries to keep Wendy and her brothers there but they end up going back and growing up in the end. Then they show that growing up isn't fun but its not horrible it's just something that happens and you have to get used to it.

This book would be good for any child or maybe a younger teenager scared of growing up. This story shows a lot of lessons on how new things such as growing up isn't as bad as people make it sound, you just have to find enjoyment in it and make the best of it. This book also has great pictures and great storytelling that will keep the attentions of younger kids.

Book Level 2.4
Summary: Peter Pan is a tale of a land where children go when they do not want to grow up. Peter Pan comes to the Darlings window one night and brings the children to Neverland where he shows them what it is like to never have to grow up, to never have to listen to your parents, and never have to go home again (the lost boys). They ave a great time, but then Hook ruins all the fun. The Darlings need to decide if they want to stay in Neverland or return home.
Characteristics to Support the Genre: It is a make-believe story about children flying to a fare away land, and pirates; that would be fantasy as well as the illustrations that aid to the story.
Ideas- the continuing theme would be childhood, and child like ideas of grown up tendencies. From the first page Wendy is demonstrating being a mother like figure for her brothers and then when she gets to Neverland she is still in that role (despite the no parents rule).
Organization- There is a clear sequence that leads the reader from the begging to the middle to the end of the story
Word Choice- there are action words that help the reader understand the intensity of situations as well as help the reader understand specific situations in an unspecific world.

This is a simplified version of Disney's "Peter Pan." Peter is a magical flying boy who has never grown up. He lives in Neverland with his friends, the Lost Boy. The story follows Peter as he meets Wendy, a young girl from London, and her siblings while working to defeat the menacing pirate, Captain Hook.

A quick summary or basics to the story of Peter Pan told in the Walt Disney book. He kept it simple in this book I suppose to keep it basic for the little ones. Still good and has the basic facts and point to the story in it.

Zwalczając siły natury i przenosząc nas w sam środek burzliwej miłości, film "Między nami żywiołami" ("Elemental") to skarb kinematografii, którego nie można przegapić.

Film opowiada historię Ember Lumen (w tłumaczeniu: Iskierka Żar), elementu ognia (dubbingu udzieliła jej Leah Lewis), i Wade'a Ripple (Fala), elementu wody (dubbing: Mamoudou Athie). Ember i Wade spotykają się, kiedy Wade zostaje wezwany po wypadku hydraulicznym w sklepie należącym do ojca Ember, Berniego (dubbing: Ronnie del Carmen). Ta nieoczekiwana interakcja pomiędzy ogniem i wodą prowadzi do niezwykłej i wzruszającej opowieści o miłości, tożsamości i przekraczaniu granic.

Inspiracje i Kreatywne Procesy
Reżyser, Peter Sohn, czerpał inspiracje z własnych doświadczeń dorastania jako syn imigrantów w Nowym Jorku w latach 70. XX wieku.

Muzyka
Thomas Newman, znany z poprzednich współprac z Pixar, takich jak "Finding Nemo" (2003), "WALL-E" (2008) i "Finding Dory" (2016), skomponował i dyrygował oryginalną ścieżką dźwiękową do "Między nami żywiołami".

Premiera i Odbiór

Walt Disney's Peter Pan is a classic fairy tale that I grew up both reading and watching. Although it is not very noticeable for a child, Disney did include many things not suited for children. This includes their racism towards the Indians in the story by making the color of their skin bright red. This book also includes some sexist content such as the statement "girls talk to much". Aside from these old views, I really enjoyed Peter Pan growing up, and I still do. It is a film that can interest both a child and an adult with the complex idea of being a child forever. By showcasing the freedom the children receive while in Neverland it can make any adult envious.
While also showing the good side of staying a child, it also shows the negatives. This includes never seeing their parents again, and missing the excitement of growing up. You can also see how chaotic it is living making your own rules while that young because of their lack of responsibility. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who doesn't mind a little bit of an outdated stereotype. This particular version of the story I did find far too simple though, and noticed it doesn't include many aspects of the story.
The main storyline to Peter Pan follows a girl who is growing up and her younger siblings. The girl one night encounters Peter Pan in her room looking for his shadow, when he offers to take them with him to Neverland where she'll never have to grow up. While in Neverland they begin to notice the struggles of living without the love of their mother, which convinces them to return home.
The main theme to this book is about growing up. Through the book Peter Pan tries to explain all the horrors of growing up to convince them to stay in Neverland Forever, but missing the love of their mother is much more important for them. The book shows that although growing up isn't fun, it's something that happen to everyone.
This book takes place in the 1950's when people still had strong views on how and when women should grow up. Wendy decides that moving out of the nursery and into her own room is a horrible idea, but her father believes her to be spoiling the minds of her younger brothers with stories of fairytales. By the end of the story Wendy's parents both witness the ship in the sky floating away and realize her daughters stories weren't just fairy tales, but instead were the truth.

These Little Golden Books never fail to impress me. When I was little, I owned so many of these and my mom would always read them to me and my siblings before bed. Peter Pan always seemed to be one of my favorites because as a kid, Neverland was like a place out of my dreams, and the illustrators for these books always did a wonderful job capturing that. I knew this would be a lovely pick for this fairytale picture book assignment.

This magical story is about a young boy named Peter who lives in a mystical land where kids never grow up. One day, in search of his shadow, Peter meets Wendy Darling and her two brothers John and Micheal. He climbs through their window and tells them all about his wonderful adventures and his battles against his rivalry Captain Hook. It doesn't take long to convince them the come back to Neverland with him, where they meet Peters trusty sidekick Tinkerbell and his best friends The Lost Boys. Together they create their own adventures!

This little fairytale is a classic and a must read, once I saw we were able to pick any fairytale picture book for this Review this was the first one I thought of and I was excited to write about it! As we have learned through out this module most of the original fairy tales were created with the purpose of "life lessons" or "moral intentions" hidden in them. Author: "Eugene Bradley Coco" took a different approach with this novel. Peter Pan is written to fuel the imaginations of young kids, its to teach them to be a kid as long as they can. Although Wendy, Michal and John had to return home from Neverland they never forgot the adventures they created and will carry their stories with them until they grow old. Although Im 18 years old I still admire this type of "moral lesson" and I think every child should read it!

I would recommend this book over and over, I think it's the perfect classic fairytale for children who are looking for a magical story and colorful pictures to go with it!

Genre: Fantasy

This book takes us on a wild adventure of loyalty and true friendship as a mischievous young boy befriends the Darling children. As he befriends Wendy, John, and Micheal, he teaches them to fly and they retreat to a land called neverland where they will never grow old. Here they encounter a variety of mystical creatures such as fairies, mermaids, lost boys, and pirates. The text is not too difficult to read and would be appropriate to use as an independent read in the upper grades. I thought this would be an interesting book to use as an independent reading in the third or fourth grades as there are many standards in these grades that could apply.
You could have students create a comic strip or story map at the end of the book that highlights the main characters and events in the story. This would hit a third grade standard as students would be describing the different characters and events and how they impacted the sequence of events in the story. You could also have students recount the story and identify the main idea as this would hit another third grade standard. This book could apply to so many other aspects in the classroom and I think it is a great text that sparks student interest and engagement.

• Peter Pan is a fantasy picture book for children’s 2-5 years old. Peter Pan is about a fairylike boy who never grows up meeting Wendy and her brother and going on adventures together to Neverland a land where children with no parents live. I gave this story a 5-star because I personally love Peter Pan and the magically aspect behind Peter Pan not being able to grow up into an adult. I think his character really brings out the story because he stays a kid forever but has obligations and authority in Neverland protecting his home. The illustrations are very bright and colorful for children of that age to enjoy the picture book and read along with the easy vocab to follow along in the story. The characters are young children where readers can relate in age and can use their imagination to explore as well as the characters in the story. I believe this book would be appealing to young readers who enjoy bright colors, reading about fun and excited adventures and being able to imagine the possibilities of joining the characters off to Neverland. I would keep this book in my library for students to read and be able to enjoy a fun and exciting fantasy story.

This book is about a boy named Peter Pan who refuses to grow up. Peter Pan takes the Darling children on a journey to Neverland where they meet fairies and the lost boys. Also, they battle the infamous Captain Hook, his pirates and a ticking crocodile.

This book has a great storyline that keeps the reader captivated to find out what happens next. The drawings throughout the book help the reader put the fascinating words to life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as a student and it is a great classroom book for students to build their imaginations.

One intriguing quote from this book is, “So Peter Pan taught them all to fly- with happy thoughts and faith and trust, and a sprinkling of Tinker Bell’s pixie dust.”

One book to pair with this is “Amazing Grace” by Mary Hoffman as in the story Grace wants to be Peter Pan in the school play.

Klasika, ar kuru izaugām arī mēs. Pīters Pens, pazudušie zēni, Vendija, Skārdulīte.
Grāmatā ir izmantotas 1952. gada ilustrācijas.
Dārlingu ģimenes bērni rotaļājas, kad viņu bērnistabā uzrodas Pīters Pens. Vendijas tēvs uzskatīja, ka Vendija esot pārāk liela rotaļām, tāpēc viņai nākamajā naktī būšot jāguļ atsevišķā istabā no zēniem. To savukārt apēda krokodils, kurš tagad kapteinim Ķeksim (agrāk viņu nesauca par kapteini Āķi?) visur seko, cerot vēl kaut ko nogaršot no kapteina. Piedzīvojumi Nekurzemē ir krāšņi, bīstami un aizraujoši.
