The Awakened Prince, by Elise Marion is another wonderful written book that deserves a standing ovation. In my opinion this is a master piece, to her prequel book, The Rogue Prince. Elise writing had me on the emotional roller coaster of highs and lows again. Her writing easily reaches out to you the reader and pulls you into the drama of the Rothchester family.
Elise writing skills sets helps her to choose the right words to make her books stand out more.
The impact of these words connects you with the characters. Elise provides a story plot that most readers could relate to. The introduction of old and new characters did not confuse me or have me lost within the story. Elise ability to tap into the readers imagination is astonishing. As a reader I quickly drew to the story from the emotional drama that plays out at the beginning of the book.
This love story gave me what I was craving. It gave me the romance that I was anticipating. The action that helps certain scenes of the book move with an exciting pace. The drama that has you connecting with the characters through tough emotional moments. The suspense shakes the conspiracy traps, therefore unleashing hero’s and legends to rise up and stand for what they born to do.
And the oh so sweet steamy romance scenes have you depleted up to those climatic ends. Serge and Isabella really stood out during these pointe scenes. Their love for one another really shines. The power and the passion Isabella and Serge shares carried me along on their journey as the royal couple of the land of Barony. While reading this book, not only was the romance pleasing, but the drama was powerful.
It’s impact intensified the steps the characters take on their missions to save their people in Barony. Elise background story of the main characters had me as the reader rooting for them from beginning to end. The transitional pace of the writing was fluent. Not once did I lose the vision of where the book was taking me. I was impressed by minimum usage of big words to describe a certain event, person, place or thing. After, the first few pages my reading takes off. The details of each scene helped me to focus more on the points being established in the story at that time. Not only did the drama have me excited to read the book, but the action and suspense had me turning the page, desperate to find out what would happen next. During the action scene’s, I was hoping that Serge would defeat his evil so called cousin/ half brother Lucious. Damien and Isabellas story transitions to Isabella and Serge’s story.
The story left off with Serge waking up from his coma after being dragged by a team of horses, attached to a carriage. Serge wakens only to find out that his close family has endeared a lot and suffered so much. After allowing his body to heal, Serge was approached by Damien who request Serge to transport Isabella back to Baron. Cardenas and Barony still needs to stand together as one unit. After Rochester’s have suffered a brutal attack against their kingdom by Lucious.
The family decides that it’s imperative Isabella returns back to Barony to take her place as Queen. However, every Queen needs her King. This request opens the sealed box of emotions and feelings that Serge tucked away in the depths of his heart, thought never to resurface again. After the journey to Barony, our timid close friends Serge and Isabella become increasingly close and wed. This doesn’t sit well with a number of people, but Serge and Isabella could care less. Once after this union, the couple looks deep into themselves and find that they are struggling with issues that they both feel they must face alone. Therefore, this decision closes the couple off from one another. Serge has to prove and show to the people that he is the peoples King of Baron. He will do what he must, to protect and bring piece and prosperity to the their land.
At the same time, Isabella suffers dreams that she interprets wrongly. Having these dreams impacts her marriage and her kingdom in a major way. Isabella fights with herself and her emotions. She struggles with the truth and her ability to be a wife and a Queen. Can she carry on the legacy that her parents built?
Isabella decides that she will not stand behind and let others protect her land and her people. She looks into herself. She convinces herself to improve her abilities as a swordswoman and a warrior. She works along side of a group of women, whose talents help cultivate the skills and abilities Isabella didn’t think that she had. While at the same time, Serge struggles with Isabella about her feelings towards him and his deceased brother Lioness.
Can this powerful couple defeat all odds that tries to cripple their marriage and their kingdom? Can Isabella understand the dreams that so plainly give her the answers that she seeks on her journey? My fellow readers I recommend this book. Until next time... read on! I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.

This is the second book in this historical fiction series by Elise Marion, and this book does not disappoint. It continues the story of the kingdoms we discovered in her book The Third Son, but the focus shifts to Serge and Isabelle. While this book probably can stand on its own, I highly recommend reading the first before reading this book because you will appreciate the story line much better.

Some of the complaints I had in the first book do carry over to this one as well, but they are quite minor. I do not like intimate sexual encounters between unmarried people, but this book had a smaller amount of those. The mild language was about the same, but I think I still could have done without it. I also would have loved to see a couple of the female villains (Davinia especially) come back and wreak some havoc within the story, but that is just me.

As with the first book, it took a little while for me to get into the story. I was somewhat disenchanted with the love story between Isabelle and Serge. Perhaps I just could not relate to it. And I felt that everything was too nice for a lot of the beginning.I feared that nothing bad would even happen.

I was pleased when the female soldiers entered the stage. That was so exciting! I love the way that the author truly elevates women in these books. It is nice to see a queen who does not want to live a pampered life (though it seems like Esmerelda has succumbed to that kind of life). I love the fact that the author did so much research on female soldiers. I had no idea that this was actually true--I figured she had imagined it.

I grew to love Isabelle and Serge as their characters were developed. By the end of the story, I was so touched by them--probably even more than I was with Damien and Esmerelda in the first book. In fact, I found those two characters rather dull and uninspiring in this book. But then again, they were not the focus.

About a third of the way into the book, I became so interested in the story that I just had to finish it! And it is one of only a handful of books that have made me cry. I was glad to see the author's humor return in the book. I did not see much of that in the beginning. Her descriptions, however, were just as fantastic as they had been in the first volume.

I may sound more critical of this book than I was the first book. I do not intend to. If anything, the ending of the book touched me more than the first book could have dreamed of. I think the author is finding her voice, and I definitely would love to read the next book in this series when it comes out in the summer.

I was provided with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100 percent mine and I was not financially compensated in any way.

A wonderful full bodied story. After the death of their brother, Lionus, King of Cardenas, Damien is now king and must tell his twin brother Serge, that Lionus is dead and he, Damien is king. Serge had been in a coma for a year and had just awakened to find everything changed. Queen Isabelle, whom he had loved from a distance, had sat with him that year, talking to him and waiting for him to come round. There is so much pain, physical and emotional to get through. How on earth is he going to do this? The old gypsy woman, Damien's wife's grandmother, has foretold of the marriage between himself and Isabelle - something he had imagined and still could not conceive. Nor could Isabelle as she fought to retain her memories of her lost husband. Full of betrayal, love, perseverance, this is a story of how a people come together in a fight for their lives, their homes, their countries. The journey is not without danger, not is it not without eye opening new knowledge. I enjoyed this book so much, lived their lives as if they were my own. If you have read the Rogue Prince and loved it, you will be just as enchanted with this book. Do give yourself a treat and buy this book - it is more than well worth the read!

Stars Overall 4 Narration 4 Story 5

The second in the Kings of Cardenas series, The Second Son picks up and continues the story established in The Third Son. While you aren’t required to read or listen to these books in order, some of the subtleties that establish the relationships and history are difficult to provide without retelling large swathes of text, so I would recommend you take these in order.

Set in a fantasy world, yet informed with references appropriate to the mid 1800’s Europe including clothing, societal expectations and the courts of royal houses, Marion has created a lovely world full of references, characters and emotions that will captivate and intrigue. The old king is dead, and Damien, the third son, has ascended to the throne. His remaining brother, Serge, has been ill, comatose with little hope for his recovery for the past year. And yet, he awakes, and sends his brother, Damien, into a landslide of guilt.

Isabelle was under the protection of the Cardenas royal house since early childhood and the demise of her parents’ reign in Barony. Groomed to marry the first son, her marriage was cut short by her husband, the crown prince’s death. She has been in mourning, yet comfortable and cared for in the Cardenas royal household, while she would like to return to rule her own country of Barony, she knows that it is little more than a dream.

I couldn’t help but feel for both Serge and Isabelle: she is willing and trained to rule, and to take the mantle of her country would be the logical step. Although, she was without a king: a situation that the Privy Council needs her to rectify. Logically, Serge is the correct choice. His experience both in upbringing as the spare for the heir gave him unique perspective on the requirements for a king, while his military experience, bearing and the respect gained by his men would make him a formidable opponent for the uprising rebels in Barony. He has always had his eye on Isabelle, and when he finds her reactions to him are as steamy and sensual as he had hoped, he has lost his heart.

Isabelle is wonderful, if a bit immature. Still in love with her first husband, her choice of Serge was made with her head, not her heart: unfortunately she refuses to see that she too is in love with him, even as her grief for Lionus is raw. There is a core of steel in there however, with a genuine will to do the best for her people that she can. Still the twists and turns of the ones who would bring Cardenas to heel are moving through the story, and Isabelle needs to learn to find her own way after wounding Serge deeply with her revelation.

We also get an introduction to the Lady Knights of Barony, as Isabelle is determined to learn to fight and protect herself, and be of use to her people. I think I appreciated the depth and growth of the characters and story more than in the first book: Isabelle was hard to not like. Having decisions made for her most of her life, it was fun to see her gain confidence in her own abilities, and taking charge of her life, even as she is mere putty in Serge’s arms. Steamy and sexy, with plenty of action, emotion and appearances from secondary characters that we already know, and the moments with the Lady Knights add some ‘girl power’ to the story as Isabelle manages to find her own way in a life that is far different than the one she pictured only a few years earlier.

Narration for this story is provided by Piers Gibbons, and his voice, while not overextending in pace, tone or affectation, manages to provide a clear delineation between characters, while adding emotive emphasis that is pleasing to the ear. His smooth diction with crisp enunciation and seamless delivery enhance the words on the page, and do not distract with unnecessary flourishes.

I received an AudioBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

The book was previously published as The Second Son but is re-released new title, new edits & new cover
When a devious plot against the royal family results in her husband Lionus’ death, Princess Isabelle Rothchester is left with a broken heart. Only one year after his brutal murder, she has no choice but to choose a new husband and return to her own kingdom, taking her place as queen and repairing the war-torn land.
After a deadly scheme against his family leaves Prince Serge hovering on the edge of death, he awakens from a year long coma to find that his elder brother has died and his younger brother Damien has taken the throne in his stead. When it is suggested that Princess Isabelle take him as her husband, Serge begins to hope that all his secret dreams will now come true. Despite the unexpected spark of desire between them, Isabelle resists the new path her heart is taking as she clings to her first husband’s memory. The rebellion washing over Barony comes to a boiling point. Together, they must fight to save their kingdom
A page turning read that flows well. Serge & Isabelle have been best friends for years but Serge has also loved her, so it’s no hardship for him to marry her even if she's still in love with his elder brother. The attraction between the pair sizzles but Isabelle feels she would be disloyal to Lionus if she loved Serge. I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the series, which could easily be read on its own The kingdoms are fictional & I enjoyed this fact as it gave the author more leeway in how the countries were ruled. There was a good mix of romance, intrigue & adventure & I look forward to more from the author.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

THE SECOND SON by Elise Marion
Review by John Wheatley
This novel, the sequel to THE THIRD SON, continues the saga of Kings of Cardenas, with the action transferring to the neighbouring territory of Barony and the longstanding plan to rescue that kingdom from anarchy by restoring the Princess Isabelle to the throne, re-establishing the ancient dynastic line together with strong, legitimate government.
The quest for political stability, and the difficulty of achieving it, is mirrored in the turbulent relations between the two key members of the respective royal houses, Serge and Isabelle - and in her handling of this, Elise Marion`s writing, too, enters new territory. The emotional and sexual tension between the Prince, brought back from the verge of death, and the Princess, the widow of his brother, is charged with vividly realised physicality as well as sharp psychological edge.
Like Damien in THE THIRD SON, both Isabelle and Serge have to find changes in themselves before discovering their own truth; before, given the visceral, though repressed, sexual attraction between them, they can decide whether - or whether not - they can become the people history needs them to be.
You will enjoy Elise Marion`s exploration of this question.

The Awakened Prince is the second book of the brothers of Cardenas. In the past book Serge had been severely injured and in a coma saving his brother, the king. Lionus, the king was married to Isabelle and she loved him very much. Damien became king after he
died and Serge was unable to carry out the duties. Isabelle, who had been raised in Cardenas is to be the queen of Byrony. Serge has loved her always, but could never let anyone know. Akira, the gypsy relative has foretold that a warrior king and queen will save Byrony from the rebels who want to take it over. Will Isabelle be able to love Serge? I loved how Isabelle became a warrior and helped defend her kingdom. Great book. I absolutely loved it. I received this book from the author for a honest review.

The Second Son follows Elise Marion's book, The Third Son. In the beginning we see that Damien and Esmeralda have been running the country while Serge has been in a coma following Lioness' death.

This book is an emotional read because it follows two people, Serge and Isabelle, both suffering from grief who need to heal and who need to find their path in life after circumstances have changed where their lives were originally leading them.

The characters in this book are strong, the emotions deep.

Serge awakes from a coma having to endure the grief of his oldest brother's death while the rest of the country has had time to grieve. He discovers his youngest brother has taken over the country, and that his oldest brother's wife, Isabelle, is now being asked to take her place on the throne of Barony during a rebellion that could get her killed. It is believed that Isabelle may better benefit her country and help protect herself by choosing a husband.

Serge has always harbored feelings for Lioness' wife, Isabelle, and he is led to protect her at all costs.

This book follows their healing journey.

I loved this book because it was real, the relationships didn't come easy, and we are as frustrated by the characters' actions as they are. We feel their grief, and we both yell and cheer each time we agree or disagree with their decisions. It is also an adventure that keeps you turning the page. I felt a desire to see Isabelle succeed, I felt trememdously for Serge and his feelings for Isabelle, and I felt a genuine interest in Barony.

I definitely recommend the Second Son. Elise Marion is a strong Romance writer, and I believe that the Second Son was even better than her first book in the series. Bravo! I look forward to Tatiana's story.

The Second Son picks up where the Third Son left off. To everyone’s surprise, Serge wakes from his year-long coma to find a different world then when he went unconscious.
Damien, the third son, is now king, and with the responsibility, not to mention Esmeralda, is no longer the rakish loose cannon that I loved so much in the first book, but a well-respected, honorable king.
Isabella lost the love of her life when Lionus died in the first book. She has spent the past year in mourning and sitting hours upon hours next to Serge’s bed. She is a gentle, pampered princess who has had her life planned out for her since her birth, and with the death of Lionus, she is unsure of what she should do, where she should go, and what her purpose is.
With her land, Barony, under attack from the rebels, it is decided that their people need their queen (Isabella), and she needs to take a king. After much deliberation, she picks Serge, who has loved her from a far his whole life. However, there story is not a happily ever after (yet) because Isabella still has feelings for Lionus, and carries guilt that she has taken on a king.
The author does a wonderful job with the book with bringing us into her world. She also does an excellent job with character creation, especially with the transformation of Isabella from a lost, docile princess, to a strong, competent warrior female. As for Serge, I found myself liking him more than I liked Damien, and I didn’t think that was going to be possible. His character was the perfect balance of “bad boy” and “serious king.”
I’m looking forward to continuing reading this series, so I’m on to the Lady Knights next!

This book was provided to me by the author for a fair and honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

Not the biggest fan of Historical Romance. But with writing like this I'm hooked! This is my first time reading any of Elise's works and I plan on reading more. I found out I started in the middle of the series, but I was not lost at anytime. That being said allows me to share with you that these books can be read out of order. But it may mess up some surprises in the others of the series. Just F.Y.I for you.

Elise Marion created some excellent characters. They are all so vivid, realistic and do not lack for their individuality. My favorites are the women warriors, Isabella and Serge. The woman warriors show exactly HOW capable a woman is no matter how they are raised or where they have some from. This band of woman warriors was able to teach someone that only knew riches and not tending to her own needs; how to defend and rely on herself. All in all they helped to make her a better, stronger person.

Serge has been through so much. Loss, injury and time has taken away some of life's meaning for him. Luckily fate has other ideas in mind for him because he gets to prove himself to others as well as himself that he IS a very worthy male.

Isabelle lost her husband and has been morning his passing for a long time. She is feeling the pressures of her responsibilities of being a princess, soon to be a queen. But is not ready for any of it because nothing is going the way it was sent up for her. She learns that she can take her own life into her hands and make her own decisions without guidance. She's a loveable character from the start, but becomes even more so as she shows ALL what she is capable of.

So much excitement jumps from these pages. With its perfect sensual touch and my new favorite Historical hottie Serge you will find it hard to put down :)

After finishing "The Third Son," I knew I just had to delve back into this world of romance, danger, and fascinating characters. I am glad to say that "The Second Son" doesn't disappoint, and delivers a solid story along with both familiar and new cast members who add even more depth.

Those of us who read The Third Son know what went down .

I found myself asking, "What's going to happen next?" The love story of Serge and Isabelle draws you in, and though both knew each other since childhood, they find that they still have more to learn about each other in order to truly unite and grow as a couple.

And I LOVED the lady knights of Barony (the third book is about them, and I will be reading that one as well). These women were truly a sisterhood, and they were total badasses.

Okay, if I don't end this review I'm going to start babbling and dropping spoilers, but suffice it to say that this was a GREAT read--and I don't even read romance or historical romance. You know the author has done her job when she can entertain both readers and non-readers of her genre.

I'm not sure if I'll venture further into romance genre, but I will do so if Elise Marion is penning it.

In this follow up to The Third Son, we see Serge awaken after a year of being in a coma and his coming to terms with all that has happened in that time. We knew he had a huge crush on his sister-in-law in the first book, but now, fate has given him a chance to have Isabell.

This book was different from the first in the series, in that Serge seemed to resign his efforts to win Isabell's heart, whereas Damien never faltered in his quest to win Esmeralda. There were times I grew a little bored with this story and just wanted it to end, but when Isabell decided to take matters into her own hands to fulfill her destiny, I grew excited again. I became a huge Isabell fan when she stood up to fight for her people, and even more proud when she knew she couldn't do it alone, but fought as hard as she could until her husband and the Calgary could return.

It was great to be able to see both of them say good-bye to their brother and husband in their own ways and to realize that them being together is probably how he would have wanted it anyway. It took a great deal of time and frustration, but I was happy with the outcome of it.

I adore Akira and Raine and would love to see what talents lie within Raine as I believe her character is a great one to explore further.

One exciting adventure filled with royal politics, lots of action, and a healthy dose of romance.
The story was beautifully written and had me hooked from the first page. There is plenty of drama and Prince Serge and Isabelle must overcome many obstacles before they can find love in each other’s arms.
Isabelle is a sweet woman who is tired of being pushed around and starts to do some pushing herself. She has a strong heart as well and even though she really loved Lionus she also knows that Serge is a good man. I loved the relationship between these two and watching how it developed slowly but surely throughout the course of the book.
Serge is a sweet man who is used to living in his brother’s shadow, but when he finally gets a chance to win the heart of the woman he has loved for so long and become more than just the second son he does everything he can to prove his worth. I enjoyed seeing Serge fight for what he believes in and finally be able to prove his worth. He really was a great character that had a lot of depth.
I highly recommend this to anyone who love an action filled historical romance.

Elise Marion is quickly becoming a favorite writer of mine. I read a lot and vary my genres (and time periods) a lot. This particular series, of which the Awakened Prince is a part, has been a very enjoyable read for me. This historical series is set in a fictional country of Cardenas. I need to make this comment here, before I move onto either the plot, characters or anything else. World Building is difficult in historical novels. There are so many of them, and most claim to be based on real places and people. But world building must take into account all the customs, clothing, mannerisms of the time and move them into a fictional place or places. In this regard, Elise Marion is extremely good at world-building. At no time do you feel she has copied somewhere, but it all seems familiar to a historical fiction reader. That's the sign that she's done her job and created a place where a reader can go and feel comfortable.

The story revolves around the Royal Family of Cardenas and is as in depth as any historical I've read. Ms. Marion has developed her characters so perfectly that by the time you finish this book, you will think of Serge and Isabelle as your best friends. You will cheer for them, especially Isabelle (but I can't tell you much about that, because it would truly be a shame if you didn't read it for yourself). You will cry for them, for BOTH of them. But more importantly, you will be in their corner from the beginning to the end. And you will also be able to re-visit Damien and Esmerelda of the previous book in the series, The Rogue Prince. Trust me, you'll love them in this book as much as you did in the last!

The Warriors you will meet along the way will surprise you and delight you. And again, I can't tell you much more without giving too much away. Trust me, you will know exactly what I'm talking about. Poor Serge doesn't know how his vision of Isabelle is about to change. :-) And it is SO entertaining when he finally figures it out.

Now to the technical aspects of the book - as always, those are the things that make it or break it when I'm reading a book. If the author struggles with the plot, so will the reader. If the author has difficulty building the characters in a way that is pleasing and with lots of depth, the reader will struggle to understand why they are doing what they are doing. You will not have this problem in this series, but in particular, in this book. Serge, who wakes up from a coma; Isabelle who mourns her dead husband, the King of Cardenas; Damien, who inherited the throne because Serge is indisposed, and the remarkable Esmerelda, the gypsy who shall be queen. I LOVED these characters, just loved them. The depth with which they loved was amazing, the spicy scenes were sensual and full of emotion, which is another aspect that is missing in a lot of books. Elise Marion knows exactly where to insert heartfelt emotions when she writes and every one of her characters shows the reader who they are.

The plot of this story did not disappoint. The arc was perfect and nothing lagged. At no point did I feel it necessary to skip a page or two. The dialogue and narration was balanced so well that it reads effortlessly. WTG Ms. Marion. Just remember, I'm sitting here, drumming my fingers waiting on your next book. :-)

Prince Serge, the second son and prince of his land, awakens after a one-year coma to find that his younger brother has become king after the battle that placed Serge in a coma killed their elder brother, Lionus. Damien, the new king, feel guilty about taking what he sees as his brother's position and offers Serge a new option: Marry their dead brother's wife, Isabelle, and rule with her in her land of Barony. Serge has loved Isabelle for a long time but feels guilt about his feelings and doesn't want to wed her, knowing that she had loved and still loves his brother.

Because of an old woman's predictions about dire consequences and her own dreams, Isabelle after some waffling decides to marry Serge even though her heart belongs to Lionus. For a very brief time, the two are happy until Serge confesses his love for her. Isabelle does not react well to this and confesses her emotional quandary to her lady's maid, which Serge accidentally overhears. Relations between them become strained for a long while they continue to have sexual chemistry.

But much more is going on in this book besides their personal problems. War threatens. When Serge goes off, Isabelle decides to join and train with a band of female warriors.

Will Serge and Isabelle resolve their differences? Can she--and he--move past feelings of guilt about their relationship? Will this queen of Barony fight alongside her warriors in the looming battle?

This was a page-turning read. The only part I didn't like was that Serge and Isabelle were at odds for so long.

There were several things I loved about this book. I enjoyed the first part when Serge comes back from his coma. The author did a good job showing his disorientation and his struggles. He is haunted by the images of watching his brother be killed in battle as well as the mistreatment he had at the hands of the enemies. He struggles physically and mentally with his battle wounds, as well as mentally with the guilt for what he feels for Isabelle. Once they marry, he is blissful but just a little guilty until it all crashes around him when he overhears her. You could sense his despair at that moment. The author does an excellent job in the sections about the women warriors. It is so unusual to have female warriors in a romance in general, but I’ve rarely seen a whole regiment of them. It was lovely to see this band of strong women work together and fight with their queen beside them.

If you enjoy fantasy romance with strong female characters, you might enjoy this book.

I received a free review copy, but this did not affect my review.

King Damien Rothchester raced through the corridors to his brother’s bedroom. A servant had just breathlessly delivered news that he had to see for himself before he could believe! After a year in a coma, Prince Serge Rochester had allegedly awakened, life as he knew it completely in a shambles. Damien wondered if he would have regained his memory? Would he be angry that Damien, the youngest, had taken over the throne when Lionus died and Serge was severely injured almost to the point of death?

But even from the doorway, he saw the clarity in his brother’s eyes and was relieved. Isabelle, their sister-in-law, was in tears, her arms around Serge’s neck at the fact that he was at last awake. He tried to move but was too weak. Serge sensed the tension in the room, so despite Damien’s dreading the pain this would cause, he told his brother all that had happened in the year he was trapped in the coma.

When Isabelle has to return to Byrony, choose a husband, and protect her lands from rebels, Damien suggests that she marry Serge. She has not gotten over her love for Lionus. Will she ever be able to let his memory go and learn to love Serge who has always been in love with her? It had been foretold by Akira, a gypsy with “the sight”, that a warrior king and queen would defend the kingdom. She urged Isabelle to accept the man Fate had chosen for her and not to let her heart be clouded by bitterness. Serge and Isabelle marry and become King and Queen of Barony. Isabelle, tired of letting others decide her fate, asks a group of skilled female warriors she meets with to train her as a warrior. If only she can love her new husband, all things would come together and everything would be set right again!

The Awakened Prince is Book 2 of the brothers of Cardenas. The story line is compelling and emotional. The characters are very worthy and easy for the reader to care for as they go through such difficult times. Grab your copy and enjoy this wonderful book!

Royals of Gardenas

The Awakening Prince

For over a year Prince Serge is in a coma, suffered will trying to save his brother, with his brothers widow Isabelle by his side

Isabelle has grown up with this family owing to the outbreak of terror that killed her parents, she has always cared for the brothers, unbeknown to her Prince Serge has always been in love with her.

Awakening from his coma, he has to accept how his family had to move on during the time he was in a coma

Damien wants him to claim the Kingdom as he is his right. Serge does not want the kingdom as he is a long way from the man he was

The best solution was for him to marry Isabelle, after she puts him through all kinds of hell.

The fictional kingdom of Cardenas and Barony are the kingdoms featured in this story.

How much terror can one family take, I learned just how much from Isabelle, who has to fight her feelings for her lost husband to his brother, this is something she is finding hard to do, with the help of Serge she struggles trough to become a fierce warrior standing be Serge’s side

Very entertaining book, I know I thought i had it all figured out but I was wrong,
thankfully

Isabelle is a woman who has so much built up inside of her, sick of being told what to do all her life she finally takes matters into her own hands

They will rule Barony together

Very well written Ms Marion

Fast pace

Absolutely amazing!! I started reading this book this morning and have not been able to put it down all day until I finished it just a few minutes ago. I even ate my meals with my Kindle propped up in front of me! lol Elise Marion has done it again, she's written another heartfelt and amazing story. Prince Serge Rochester awakens after being in a coma for a year, to find life as he knew it has changed quite a bit. The woman he has always loved, his older brother's widow, Isabelle, is now available to him but can she ever stop loving her dead husband? Quite the adventure follows when he marries her and they become King and Queen of Barony and must fight the rebels attacking the villages.

I love how Isabelle decides to train as a warrior with the group of 4 lady warriors that she meets!! No longer will she be a spoiled princess, she will now fight for her kingdom and its people. I also love the passion between Serge and Isabelle! As for the ending, well, I have to admit I cried, it was such a beautiful ending to this particular story.

Serge and Isabella’s story was one I anxiously awaited since their introduction to us in The Rogue Prince. They have been friends since they were children, but Serge has always loved Isabella despite her being betrothed to her brother and heir apparent to the throne of Cardenas, Lionus. Lionus’ tragic death brings about changes nobody expected to happen. I loved watching these two come together. You could feel Serge’s longing and Isabella’s guilt and reluctance to let love back into her life again. I felt for him so much and it was heartbreaking to watch Isabella spurn his love. Watching Isabella find her true calling, as well as her love, was a joy to watch. I loved this book even more than the first and I really am looking forward to the next in the series. Lady warriors??? Yes, please. I loved the glimpse that we already received from the ladies, now Isabella’s friends, and I can’t wait to read their stories.

Serge has lost his older brother and Isabelle has lost her husband. The Awakened Prince is the story of Serge getting his chance with the woman he has always loved and Isabelle getting a second chance at love. The best part is…they find this path together first as best friends, than lovers, than husband and wife with a happily-ever-after.

Elise Marion has quickly become a favor author of mine. Her characters are so rich and full of emotion. The settings are perfect with just the right amount of drama. I love the female regiment of soldiers, I love that Isabelle saved Serge’s life (in more ways than one)! I love that Damien and Esmeralda were in the story. Mostly, I loved that good prevailed over evil!

King Lionus has been killed and Queen Isabelle is left brokenhearted. Prince Serge the next in line for the throne has fallen into a coma and Isabelle sits by his bedside trying to get him to wake and the youngest brother Damian has taken the throne. Serge and Isabelle have been life long friends and he has always loved her so when she needs to remarry it is Serge who is now to be king. She tried to keep the memory of her late husband alive but now she must move on. Will Isabelle ever love Serge the way he loves her and can they find out who is causing havoc in their kingdom?

A riveting second book in the ‘Royals of Cardenas’ series! It is well written with a well-developed consistent engaging plot that will grip you from beginning to end. An on the edge of your seat read with an intriguing storyline that is emotionally deep with ups and downs, drama, danger, suspense, betrayal, and so much more. The characters are likeable, strong, and deep; the chemistry between them is intense and potent. It is a very exciting read and comes highly recommended. I look forward to the next book.

Serge, Isabelle, Lionus.

The three main characters of this novel. I read book 2 but have yet to give it a review as I was too anxious to keep reading about these people’s lives, it was that attention catching. I had to keep a box of tissues beside me the entire time. I’m glad no one was around to see me being a teary deary. How I adore The Royals Of Cardenas! Three son’s each with their own story to tell, each story enthralling to say the least. I don’t give stories away, I’d rather you find out for yourself, I’m sure of one thing, you will enjoy it, all of the series.

This is a book about love that was lost, a new chance at love and a deadly scheme all in a well-written piece. Serge & Isabelle together, they must fight to save their kingdom. Will Isabelle be able to love Serge or will Lionus memory keep them apart? This book has a good mixture of romance, intrigue & adventure written by a very talented writer. I look forward to more from the author and it is so worth picking up. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
