Be Not Afraid: Sermons of Hope in Uncertain Times

Rate this book
In post-modern society, Christians find themselves in a position unknown since the days of the early they are a minority, often ridiculed and despised. Confronted by this dilemma and the fears it invokes, many Christians have either retreated into Biblical fundamentalism, or have reduced faith to semi therapeutic self-helpism. Be Not Afraid, however, offers a third instead of being afraid, Christians should embrace uncertainty as central to a faith dedicated to engagement with the mystery of God. It is an invitation that spurns easy answers and offers no guarantees that we will be spared hardship. Instead, we are offered hope, and an abundance that is more than mere material possession, more than mere moral goodness.
