Το Μανιφέστο της Κάνναβης
Η επανάσταση της κάνναβης συνεχίζεται παρά τις προσπάθειες των πολιτικών και των υπηρεσιών εφαρμογής του νόμου να τη σταματήσουν. Σ' όλη τη γήινη σφαίρα το θαυματουργό αυτό φυτό δημιουργεί βιομηχανίες διατροφής, καύσιμο ύλη, ρουχισμό, μέσα για την κάλυψη στεγαστικών αναγκών και χαρτί, όλα ωφέλιμα στην ανθρωπότητα και όλα φιλικά προς το περιβάλλον. Οι πρωτοβουλίες για νομιμοποίηση της φαρμακευτικής μαριχουάνας έτυχαν συνταρακτικής υποστήριξης στην Καλιφόρνια και την Αριζόνα. Ωστόσο ο πόλεμος της παραπληροφόρησης που διεξάγεται ενάντια σ' αυτό το φυτό και τις βιομηχανίες του, είναι δυνατό να δυσκολέψει την ανεύρεση των εκπληκτικών του ιδιοτήτων.
Το Μανιφέστο της Κάνναβης τα αλλάζει όλα αυτά. Δίνει εκατόν ένα τρόπους με τους οποίους είναι δυνατό να επιδράσει θετικά στην κοινωνία η κάνναβη. Στο βιβλιαράκι αυτό συμπεριλαμβάνονται όλα τα συναρπαστικά δεδομένα για το φυτό -πώς η Διακήρυξη της Ανεξαρτησίας των Η.Π.Α. γράφτηκε σε χαρτί από κάνναβη, πώς η κυβέρνηση των Η.Π.Α. καλλιεργεί μαριχουάνα και την προμηθεύει σε πάσχοντα άτομα δωρεάν, πώς οι σπόροι της κάνναβης είναι η πιο πλήρης πηγή πρωτείνης και απαραίτητων λιπαρών οξέων στο φυτικό βασίλειο, που είναι γνωστή, και πολλά ακόμα. Το Μανιφέστο της Κάνναβης δίνει στους ανθρώπους το πιο σημαντικό όπλο στη μάχη που διεξάγουν για ένα υγιές μέλλον: την αλήθεια.

Αναγνωρίζω πως όντως το φυτό έχει αδικηθεί ενώ θα μπορούσε να χρησιμεύσει σε αρκετούς τομείς της ζωής του σύγχρονου ανθρώπου και ειδικά στην φαρμακευτική. Σαν επαγγελματίας υγείας όμως δεν μπορώ να παραγγωνίσω τις βλαπτικές ιδιότητες του φυτού οι οποίες οφείλονται στην ψυχοτρόπο ουσία τετραυδροκαναβινόλη.

Incredibly eye opening

Sometimes I forget that our library will stock just about any e-book as long as it's cheap or free, even if that means it's outdated or had questionable information quality.
This is more of a pro-cannabis pamphlet than a book. By that, I mean it has a lot of very general talking points, but not much in-depth information nor does it include sources for any of the information. The author uses an alias and offers no credentials for his/her information (although, as I said, it's all very basic, so you could probably find sourced material of a similar nature on-line with no problem.) Don't bother paying $6 for this very basic--and not very informative--brochure.
The booklet starts out with some historical use of the non-THC cannabis sativa plant (paper, cloth, sails) and moves to more modern use (insulation, cement substitute, fuel). Each use gets one page with one or two paragraphs per page. At roughly the 1/3 mark, the emphasis moves from industrial uses for non-THC hemp to the medical, religious, and recreational uses of THC forms of cannabis sativa . There's clearly a pro-legalize agenda, but the arguments aren't very well presented. Also, since this was published in 1997, the arguments and info are badly outdated.
If you knew nothing at all about the historical uses of cannabis and less than nothing about the recreational uses, you might learn something from this booklet, but I thought it was pretty much a waste of library funds and my time. I was looking for information about the potential industrial uses of (non-THC) hemp for clothing, building materials, and soil erosion control. There was nothing here of value to that end.

Short and concise, while still being really informative. It is mostly a pared down version of JacThe Emperor Wears No Clothes: The Authoritative Historical Record of Cannabis and the Conspiracy Against Marijuana that is much easier to read (at least easier than my step dad's old version). Only took me a couple hours total to read on my Kindle while waiting in lines.

This is a great little guide to give you a few quick quips to shoot back at those who doubt marijuana and hemp's usefulness in our lives today. It small, easy to read, and is full of interesting little tidbits about how we could use hemp in the future, how it was used in the past, and how it is breaking new ground every day medically, environmentally, and economically. It also goes on to remind you again and again, that hemp does not have to be used to produce THC.

Σαφέστατα υπέρ της κάνναβης, ο συγγραφέας μάλιστα ισχυρίζεται πως "είναι ο πρώτος που έμαθε για τις πολλαπλές χρήσεις της κάνναβης όταν ζούσε στο Κασμίρ των Ινδιών, στη δεκαετία του 1960" [sic]. Δεν είναι και κουζουλαμός, ιδιαίτερα αν δεν συμπαθείς την κάνναβη όσο τη συμπαθεί ο χορτάκιας Rowan.
