An unmarried woman living in a house of men breeds hearsay and lore. If only the villagers knew the truth. It's not Jem Stonehouse's marital status that brings unwanted strangers to town. Rather, it's that she is the only female werewolf in existence - a prize to any pack. Sean Holloway, the love of Jem's life, has gone to great lengths to protect her. As a new attack becomes imminent, Sean realizes he must take greater measures with Jem's safety or risk losing her forever. His first task must be to marry her, but a force greater than the largest werewolf stands in his way. Her mother.
Best known for her Holloway Pack Stories and The Therapist, J.A. Belfield lives in Solihull, England, with her family, a spoiled dog, and a cat who likes to vomit in unfortunate places.
Once upon a time, she was a little girl with a vivid imagination. Not much has changed in the last forty years.
J.A. Belfield writes paranormal romance, with a second love for urban fantasy. And now she writes saucy romance, too. Because she can. ;)
My initial reaction was 'Where is James' and this was answered within mere pages...
This second short book is from Jem's POV as opposed to Sean's and seeing the world through her eyes is completely different!
Set in history, Jem's mother has obviously come to terms with what happened in book one (no spoilers, sorry!) but she still remains the woman of steel. As the book progresses, you have to laugh at where Sean is left standing, Jem, her sister Jessica and their mum, no room to tolerate nonsense for sure but it brings about plenty of smiles and a good portion of women's rights (lol).
No story is complete without a 3rd party and this is a far cry from a love triangle. Jem is special and rumors circulate, so when a stranger comes knocking, things kind of go off with a bit of a bang!
I found this second short book captivating, especially when Jem is in a bit of trouble (to say the least), I wanted to read as fast as the wolves ran, obviously an impossibility, I needed to find out what happened...
I thoroughly enjoyed the novel, the writing was pleasant and easy to follow. I could imagine being set in the times of this book, which is some feat because I have a lousy imagination! I am definitely looking forward to reading Darkness and Light.
I love the Holloway Pack. I love Jem, Sean, Ethan, Nate, Connor, Kyle, Dan and Josh. Oh yes. Yes. Yes, I do.
So, let me tell you about Eternal.
This is prequel #2 (which means story number .5) in the Holloway pack series. It comes after Instinct and before Darkness & Light, yet I read Darkness & Light ages ago. So what’s up with all these prequels? Well … all these awesome novels have stories within the history. And some authors, like J.A. Belfield have taken the time to write about what happened BEFORE the novel started.
So that’s where Eternal stands … before Darkness & Light.
It’s actually the continuation of Instinct, which brings Jem and Sean together.
Eternal, on the other hand, takes their story to the next level.
You see, Jem and Sean have a history. A long one and we learn about that in Darkness & Light. But in Instinct, we get to see it begin and in Eternal we get to see it bloom.
That’s the awesomeness of this. I get to fall in love with Jem and Sean and then learn more about them, their history, what brought them together, etc. in a short story.
And … as so many know … I love novellas because they are short and usually very fast reads. I can get hooked into a novel and have to put it down 10x due to ‘life’ but a novella is often a one-sitting read and Eternal is just that.
So … we have Jem and Sean. We’ve established that they are werewolves (or at least one of them is) and now, it’s time for them to stop going about a normal life that isn’t and get to the big ‘M’ word. See, Instinct and Eternal are set in the 1800s which means, culturally, Jem and Sean shouldn’t be living together. But they are (progressive?) and now it’s time for Sean to make that move … to ask Jem to marry him.
Of course, he can’t do that the ‘right’ way and in his failure all sorts of craziness ensues, including a few strangers who might want to take Jem up on her still-single-hood-nature. Is it possible to break up Jem and Sean?
Well … if might be if he doesn’t get his act together and get a little help from a few people for the long-term.
Love it. Love Jem and Sean. Love Eternal. The Holloway Pack is one of my favorite groups of people.
I read Darkness and Light, the first novel in the Holloway Pack series, so I was really interested to see what this prequel novella had in store for me. I was not the least bit disappointed.
In this short, we meet the original Sean and Jem (circa 1800's). If you read Darkness and Light, you understand what that means. I really enjoyed getting a look at the beginning of the Sean/Jem saga, and seeing how that first pair managed to "make it".
I love the Sean in this one and how adorably gruff he is. I particularly liked the way he was so afraid of Jem's mom when he was trying to muster the courage to ask for her hand in marriage. Ms. Belfield did a great job sinking the reader into the historical 1800s setting and dealt with the moral codes (they are together and not married in the 1800's -- oh the scandal!!)and attitudes in the time period with an accuracy that rang true to me. the author in throws in a stranger interested in the unique Jem (female werewolves are rare and coveted)to keep up wondering how it will all come out in the end. The suitor tries being nice and seducing Jem away from Sean, and when that doesn't work... well that's when things get complicated.
I'm not one to post spoilers in my reviews, so I will leave it at that. If you want to know more, pick up the novella and give it a read.
I was able to devour this is a few short sittings, which is perfect for my hectic schedule. I thoroughly enjoyed this love story and would recommend this novella to anyone who enjoys historical romance or anyone who has read any of the other books in the Holloway Pack series by J.A. Belfield.
Sean and Jem's love has only intensified as the years have passed, but recently Sean finds himself increasingly having to protect his mate from threats that wish to take her away. They invade his forest in the hopes of confirming Jem as the only female werewolf in known existence. Sean believes the answer in part is to keep Jem by his side forever with marriage as the first step. However, Jem struggles to believe he truly desires out of love to bind himself to her fully. In response, Jem retreats to the one person who could possibly make sense of her conflicted feelings and shed light on her proposal predicament – her Mother. Unfortunately, there is still a physical threat to contend with who just won't take no for an answer, which means Sean will have to fight to prove his love for Jem and fight to prove he can keep her.
With a surprisingly swift pace, the story is at once comical, romantic, and sexy while set during a historic time period that would seem anything but. From the story's onset, it is easy to believe and fall for Sean and Jem's fierce love for one another. Their erotic encounter that begins the story is not only attention-grabbing, but beautifully written. After that the story picks up speed with a determined step towards matrimony for one of my favorite paranormal couples. The interference of the town gossipers and mysterious forest trespassers create a subtle suspense in the storyline that left me wanting more, but attentions are easily diverted back to the Pack, Jem's family, and the couple themselves. I adored the way Sean shows how much he loves Jem while at the same time proving his strength to protect her. The story is told strictly from Jem's point-of-view and her character development is wonderful. They both prove how capable and worthy they are of each other.
This novella is all the proof that is necessary in showcasing the author's talent in writing. The voices of the characters are clear and the story remained true in creating an escape to not just another time period, but with a look into the lives of two werewolves in love. Another engaging read that left me with the urge to grab the next Holloway story as soon as possible. This novella can be read as a standalone and should definitely not be missed by historical paranormal romance readers.
The Holloway Pack quickly found a place on my must read list after Darkness and Light and Ms. Belfield’s latest pack installment, Eternal, does not disappoint. I was so excited to receive this as an ARC from the publisher; I could not put it down!
This storyline takes place 3 years after Jem has become a member of the pack. There is much gossip around town about her living with a houseful of men. Since Jem is the only female Were, curious “visitors” keep showing up. Of course, Sean won’t stand for it. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe and all his.
The first scene starts out steamy and it only gets better from there. This book has a great story line filled with memorable scenes. A few of my favorites (besides the opener….) were when Sean really screws up with Jem and just doesn’t understand what he did wrong. He loves her so much and almost ruins it with his mouth! So like a male to be oblivious like that. Another favorite scene; Jem always gets in the last word when she needs to, but only she can do it during a dinner time prayer. Too funny!
We get to meet more of Jem’s family and Sean’s pack in this story. Jem’s mother and sister play a big part in this storyline. I really enjoyed the bits of history in this one too. Reading about Jem’s daily life with her mom and Jessica (dragging the bathtub in front of the fire, walking to the market once a week, hand stitching the dress) makes me grateful for all the modern conveniences we have now. We meet more pack members, from this lifetime too. Giles is one of my favorites from this line, he reminds me of Josh and Nathan (from their current pack life) all rolled into one.
All in all, you must add this one to your collection!
* I received this ebook from the publisher as an ARC for an honest review*
This was a good little historical romance! I usually dont like reading historical romances but this one was okay...The first few chapters were slow to me and I was still trying to grasp the characters and what was happening. When I got to about 30% in the story started to pick up and I was anxious to feel out the storyline which was interesting but not entirely in some ways because it was sort of predictable.
Over all it did keep me reading to see the outcome and it did have an interesting spin on Werewolf's and that Jem is the only female werewolf. I can honestly say that Gile's and Isabelle were my favorite characters and they kept the story afloat. Jem and Sean's relationship was sweet and I really loved the ending and all its romance-sauce(I actually liked the romance over the historical).
Recommend to: If you like historical romance with some action and a lot of steamy romance this book is for you!
Eternal fills in more of Jem and Sean's story which was introduced in Darkness & Light. Sean and Jem make their commitment to each other eternal in this story, assuring them the chance to find each other lifetime after lifetime. As usual with all of Ms Belfield's writing the narration is gorgeous, the story touching and the love between Sean and Jem is incredibly sigh worthy.
I think what I appreciate most of all in this series is that through this great love that carries through multiple lifetimes Jem still grumbles about Sean and Sean sometimes has no clue what he did to upset Jem. Like couples that you know who have been together forever but still bicker and grumble the deepest love it seems is the one in which we are most comfortable!
As with all of her excellently written books, this was another stunning insight into the lives of Jem and Sean. She allowed me to feel as though I was there at that time. I read both Instinct and Eternal after Darkeness and Light, but I'm glad I did - glad I got to know modern day Jem and Sean before meeting them in earlier times. I'm now really looking forward to the next in the series! Keep up the great work.
Short story which give a better understanding of Jem's family and which gives us te opportunity to witness te spell that binds them together until the end of times. Beautifully written.
It's no surprise that I absolutely love this series, and the characters in it, so I wasn't shocked when I finally picked up my Kindle and started my copy of Eternal and devoured it. :D It wasn't very long, but it was amazing. I loved seeing what happened to the first Sean and Jem after they met and fell in love in Instinct, and in this one you see how their lives become woven together and why their love will be bound together for eternity.
After reading Eternal, I feel like I understand the backstory behind Jem and Sean's love in Darkness and Light. We finally got to see the ceremony that bound them together, and see how the first Sean and Jem got to that place. Let me tell you it wasn't easy, and they had a mishap or two, but I love getting to experience their story and as always I thoroughly enjoyed Jem and Sean together. No matter what time period or how slightly different those two might be, I love their characters. They have amazing chemistry, and some fantastic banter. :D
Above all else, I loved Eternal, and it makes me even more excited for the second book in the Holloway Pack Series to come out, Blue Moon! :D As much as I love werewolves in the past pack, I definitely also love the current ones, so it'll be great to get to read one of their stories again. :D
I would recommend checking out Eternal if you've already read Instinct (but not before!), the first prequel and novella about the very first Sean and Jem, but I think you'd be okay reading both prequels before Darkness and Light if you choose to. :) As to who I recommend this series to, well I'd go with fans of Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series, especially if they like the werewolf-centric stories-the Clay and Elena ones in particular, and I think werewolf fans in general would really enjoy how J.A. Belfield has made her own werewolf folklore within the Holloway pack, full of eternal love and reincarnations. :)
I was introduced to Sean and Jem’s story when J.A. Belfield’s debut novel Darkness & Light first came out. I have to say I loved it, a novel I’m sure I'll enjoy reading again in a few years. In the first novel we meet a Jem and Sean from the present, though their great love affair began over a century earlier—their souls permanently connected through a spell. I have to admit, though I loved Darkness & Light, it left me curious about the first couple, the original Jem and Sean.
If you haven’t yet read it, I suggest you pick up a copy of the novella Instinct before you read Eternal so you’ll know how Jem and Sean first meet. Eternal begins after Jem and Sean have already been together for three years. Though Eternal is a novella and doesn’t have the detail and depth involved one would expect in a full length novel, I enjoyed how we dropped straight into the story. I thought the author did a great job to bring across not only the setting of the early nineteenth century, but the actions of the characters living there.
Sean must be ruthless in his dealings with outsiders if he wants to keep Jem out of the hands of rival packs. And there are many who want her, because Jem is the only female werewolf known to exist, the first woman to survive being bitten and turned. Other werewolves are naturally curious about her and will take her from Sean if they can. Tension levels are kept high as we see a new powerful male invade their area. Maybe this one will be strong enough to do what all the others have failed at so far—take Jem away from Sean before he can marry her.
But Sean’s greatest fear doesn’t come from fighting off rivals for Jem’s affection, but more from the need to approach Jem’s mother and ask for permission to marry her daughter. Powerful werewolf meets protective human mother—I’ll leave it to your imagination, or you can pick up your own copy of Eternal and read it for yourself. A fun romance, fast read, and highly entertaining.
My Review: I love, love, love the Holloway Pack! They are fast becoming my all time favorite wolf pack, and that's saying something! And now with Eternal ... wow, just wow. This book is so full of romance and action and suspense ...yes, I know it's a novella, but still... it's got it all.
The story opens up hot and steamy. Belfield wastes no time letting us know how passionately in love Jem and Sean are. I love that!!! I also love that I got more of Jem's family in this installment (Jem's mom rocks). You really get a feel for who Jem is by knowing her family's story better. It's perfect that this story has that great historical feel without the overwhelming details historical fiction can sometimes bestow on the reader (slowing down the action and boring us less intellectual readers). Better yet, this story oozes romance. Sean screws up royally and is completely clueless about it but he does a beautiful job of making up for it. Plus the clueless thing was adorable (it's only adorable when it's not your significant other being clueless). And the wedding! **happy sigh** But the best part of the book was getting to see how exactly Jem and Sean came to be bound for eternity. It was so wonderfully done. **more happy sighs**
It really made me long to re-read Darkness & Light. I think I'll wait a few months, closer to when Blue Moon comes out in December. I'd hate to re-read it now and then be jonesing 6 months for my next hit of Holloway.
Cover Art: I gushed about this cover when I got to reveal it to you in January. Stop by Known to Read to read about it :)
I was the very lucky recipient of an ARC copy of Eternal and devoured it immediately on its arrival travel sickness be damned and wow it was.... it was..... well let’s just say I had to put the AC on and felt somewhat guilty about reading it a meter away from the babies in the back of the car, what an opener!
But seriously Eternal picks up 3 years on from Instinct Jem is firmly entrenched in the pack and the gossipers are in full flow extolling the tale of the unmarried woman living with a group of men! Oh the shame of it, but it’s not only the villagers that are listening, and being the only female werewolf certainly makes Jem popular with the boys. Sean and the pack do their upmost to protect her but something must be done the gossiping must stop there’s only one option left to them and in an a great scene displaying JA Belfields outstanding insight into the male psyche Sean gives a superb example of male blundery then stands there looking confused when Jem runs for the hills. I loved it, all too often the male leads in PNR are extremes either total bad boy or total softy and it’s great to read about a lead who is a happy mix of both, I could picture his WTF face. An excellent combination of paranormal characters suffering such normal human issues was great got to love a mother in law!
In summary this is a whole lot of story in not a lot of book a satisfying read and a great contribution to the series if you haven’t read any of the Holloway pack books yet, why not? Start with Darkness and Light, Instinct then this. The second book to follow on from Darkness and Light, Blue Moon comes out in December and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Fans of Kelley Armstrong’s werewolves will love it!

This is my first Holloway Pack read, and I must admit that, while it wasn’t my absolute favorite paranormal shifter romance, it was still an enjoyable read. I think the biggest problem that I had was the fact that it started out extremely slow for me. I couldn’t grasp what was happening in the beginning, for it went from a sexual encounter scene to something else entirely.
But, with that being said, once I pushed on and became captivated by the story, I found that I truly enjoyed Sean and Jem’s characters. I really felt for Jem, a young woman who is the only female werewolf around and is forced to live in a home filled with male werewolves. The people of her town look down upon her, they whisper about her behind her back.
Sean’s character ended up being my favorite. He knew that having Jem living with them was creating a stir but he had to keep her there, had to protect her. When issues arise, the only way he can do that is to marry her. But, it’s not as easy as it looks, especially when a werewolf enters the picture and wants to make a claim on the beautiful Jem.
Ms. Banfield did a fabulous job at creating a historical backdrop for this story, and really ended up making a story that was filled with steamy romance, seduction and suspense. While I feel that the beginning could have been a little less dragging, the over all story was well written, and I do recommend it to all who enjoy a paranormal romance filled with shifting sexy men and the women that capture their hearts.
Before reading this book I thought that it was just a paranormal romance and I didn’t realise that it was also historical. I still liked it though which was a surprise considering that I usually hate historical romances. It shows how good this book is that despite it being in a genre that I normally don’t like I am still giving it four stars.
I loved this take on werewolf legends with our protagonist Jem being the only known female werewolf. As you would expect this leads to lots of tension, as despite having a mate all the male werewolves are after Jem.
Jem’s mate Sean is a sexy alpha male werewolf and is certainly a character to drool over. I was also very intrigued by another character and I really hope he features in some future books – you’ll have to read this book to find out who I’m on about.
Despite this being a prequel to darkness and light, I would recommend reading darkness and light first as there were a few times when I was a little confused. You can read this book first but it’s probably better to read it later to gain some backstory.
This book has definitely made me interested in the rest of the series as the author has a beautiful writing style and she has managed to get a well-developed story into this short book (something that many authors fail to do) so I can’t wait to see how well in depth and developed a full length novel by her would be.
*This book was provided to me by the publisher for review. In no way has this affected my review*
Eternal is a werewolf story with a historical feel to it. That is not my usual type of book. Usualy I struggle to stay interested in historicals or anything resembling them. The fact that I not only read this, but stayed interested the whole way through is a strong testament to how well written it is. J.A. Belfield has a knack for bringing her characters to life. I loved the way they spoke and could easily imagine hearing their voices.
Did I mention that this book is about werewolves? Sean Holloway is the Alpha and Jem is his mate. There are many strange werewolves showing up and Jem is in danger. Sean suggests getting married as a way to keep her safe. Needless to say Jem is not happy. What women wants to have a man marry them out of a sense of duty or responsibility? Sean fails to see what he did to upset her. They eventually talk it out.
I'm not going to tell you whether or not they take the plunge. I'm going to suggest that you wholeheartedly dive into this sweetly romantic werewolf story and find out how it ends for yourself. You'll be glad you did!
I received a copy of Eternal from J. Taylor Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this books as much as Instinct. I liked seeing more of Jem and Seans past. Also in Book 2 the character keep referring to some events and we actually get to see these events as they happen in this book.
This short story is narrated by Jem and it is longer than Instinct. Also this story takes place 3 years after Instinct. Luckily this is mentioned in the book, so there is no confusion, but before I started this book I thought it would take place sooner after Instinct than 3 years. The story is fast paced and I wanted to keep reading. Although the story was a bit predictable (also due to some events being mentioned in Book 2, which I read before this one). It was a very enjoyable story and I really enjoyed seeing more from Jem and Seans past.
In this book we also get a better view of who the other pack members are, although still not enough for my taste. I liked seeing how this pack operated in comparison to the pack in book 1 and 2. There are many similarities, but also some differences.
Furthermore about the world building I have the same issues as in Instinct. The world of werewolves didn’t need explanation, but I would’ve liked to know in which time this book took place.
To conclude: I really enjoyed this story. It is a great addition to the series!
Eternal (Holloway Pack 0.5) is a prequel to the Holloway Pack series written by J.A. Belfield. I read this as a R2R with Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics! As always, a special thank you to the mods and author for allowing me to participate.
The Review: This was a sweet little novella about Jem and Sean, how they become married, and a little insight into what their lives were like in their past life, before the series book one, Darkness & Light. We get to see how Jem and Sean lived, meet their pack mates and also meet Jem’s mom and sister. We also learn how they become eternal soul mates, bound to be together for all time. There is also bit of action as a stranger becomes interested in Jem and we see Sean and his pack surround her in a barrier of protection.
I really enjoyed this short but well written prequel. Jem and Sean are too cute together. You can tell how much they care for one another and know that this series will definitely be one to follow. My only complaint was we don’t see much in the way of Jem’s strength as a wolf. She struggles a lot and seems to need protection. I wish we got to see more of her transformation. I’m excited to move on to the next book in the series!
This novella was interesting, but in a good way! I didn't realized that it had a historical element to it until I started reading it and read to many historical romances :) But I devoured this novella! It was short and sweet :D
The characters were all lovable :) Sean and Jem's mom were probably my favorite characters. Sean was just adorable, with his over proctectiveness, but you have to admire that in a man. You could just tell that he loved Jem so much and the fact that he was a little afraid of her mother had me laughing. A big shifter guy afraid of a mom, I can just imagine it! Jem's mom was entertaining and she brought a fun element to the story :) But Jem, herself, did tend to annoy me at times but not to the point where I didn't like her. She was a strong female who didn't like when the pack view her as helpless.
And wasn't the outsider a little persistent?!
Overall, I really enjoyed this story and I really need to read the other books in the series :) If you like historical romances this novella is for you!
Thank you to J. Taylor Publishing for the opportunity to review this book. All thoughts are my honest opinion!
Jem Stonehouse is seen having sex with Sean Holloway up against a tree – what a way to start a book. That certainly grabs the reader’s attention. Sean is an alpha making love to his mate. Giles has his orders from his alpha and that is to protect Jem.
A stranger has come to town. It will be interesting to see what he’s all about. Also, to find out why he thinks he’s so special. What is he looking for? What is his agenda?
J. A. has created this prequel for her Holloway Pack series. It shows us some of the history of the pack. We also get our HEA ending but it leaves us wondering what J.A. has in store for the Holloway Pack next. If you have never read any of the Holloway Pack series before this may be a good book for you to start with.
You will find the rest of my review posted at UrbanGirl Reader, http://www.urbangirlreader.com/, on July 3. And then if you stop back on July 9, there will be a character interview.
What can I say, I love the Holloway Pack Series. This one is more aimed for adults as there are a few steamy scenes included in this novella. In this novella we learn more of the romantic tale of the original Sean Holloway and Jem Stonehouse's story. It has it's amusing parts where Sean is scared of Jem's mother, but has to be brave and ask permission to marry Jem. Though the way Sean ...er proposes is not the best....he soon puts the misunderstanding right with Jem. They have two ceremonies. I have to admit though I enjoy the first traditional church ceremony it was the binding ceremony that had me sighing and thinking aaaah. Also in this novella we see the danger that Jem is in as the only female around. Another werewolf comes to town to try and stake a claim on Jem. Initially he tries charming Jem and when that doesn't work he takes a more aggressive approach.....What happens? .......Buy the novella! NO Buy the Series!
While realizing afterwards that the story of Jem and Sean's first meeting and how she became a werewolf was contained in another prequel to this series, I still was able to follow along with their story just fine. I enjoyed the mixture of paranormal with historical in this particular novel, and really enjoyed the side characters. Jem's mother and sister were wonderful as they pushed for the wedding to be both human and mystical and the unusually strong female characters for the time period were enjoyable. Sean's over-protectiveness seemed to chafe on Jem at times, but with all the outside wolves coming into their territory it was understandable and made his character more real. They also felt like a legitimately good match and I look forward to read more about their intriguing story; the premise was fairly unique.
I received a free copy of this novella from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second prequel novella in the Holloway Pack series. I recently read Instinct and thought it was great. I received this one for review and I liked it so much that I've purchased Darkness and Light to continue on with the series.
For a prequel, the characters and plot are very well developed. I loved seeing even more into Sean's and Jem's relationship and their marriage. As with Instinct, this is a historical romance. I'm not overly fond of historical writing but I liked it for this one (and Instinct) because it is leading up to the first novel which is not historical.
There's not a lot to say about Eternal except that the writing is beautiful and the characters and plot are interesting. I would recommend this little gem to anyone who likes historical romances with a paranormal twist.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this book. This was my first venture into the Holloway pack series and it was highly enjoyable, although I was a bit lost initially. I read it quickly and am now eager to read the rest to see how these two fair throughout time eternal. The wedding ceremony that binds them permanently thru a spell was a nice twist and a great way to mix the genres. The whole concept of Jem as the only female werewolf is very interesting. Great way to amp up the tension as she must be protected at all times, even against her own stubborn wishes. The relationship Jem and Sean have is beautiful. I found Sean's pacing in and out of the house as Jem sat at the table to be hillarious and loved how he was so intimidated by Jem's mom! Eternal didn't delve into the whole pack dynamic much so I hope that the other books do. I am sure there is a lot going on there. Looking forward to my next Holloway adventure.
Etneral was a quick read. I do think that this book was to give readers of Darkness & Light (Holloway Pack, #1) a idea of how the characters come together! So I will be reading the next book! To find out more!
That being said.. I really liked the book! it was a historical romance which I enjoy! The character were great and loveable.. Jemm and Sean come along way through the short story! Sean was great you knew how he felt about Jemm. I like how Jemm stood her ground, although I would have like to have seen a little more of the werewolf in her! but hopefully I will in the next book! I loved Jemms mom and her getting under Sean's skin making him squirm! I mean a big Alpha scare of the mom! hehe! All in all it was a great read and I am ready for the next Holloway book! Anyone that likes historical romances should gives this a go, you wont be dissappointed!
If you are looking for a very quick read, then this is a book for you. Although quite enjoyable, I did however find the book to be lacking in storyline but this may be due to it being a 30 min read. We are brought into the wedding plans of two shifters,Sean and Jem as they battle the local town's gossip and an encrouching stranger. Sean is a character you can immediately like as he is a strong Alpha with a need and want to protect his mate. Jem was a human before she was turned and now has to suffer town gossip as the only woman living in a house full of male shifters.
The side characters were quite amusing and this book did have me giggling at times so overall an enjoyable but rather short read.
Love, love, LOVED this prequel. Eternal is a beautiful paranormal-romance/historical fiction. I think it was beautifully executed and will make you drool for more. Jem and Sean are perfect together and have a really cute relationship that every girl dreams of having. The other characters that Belfield created are also all very well done and don't blend in with the background, they stand out. Even though Eternal is a prequel I feel like it wasn't too short and told the story it needed to tell perfectly. Beware, if you read this prequel you are going to want to read the entire series so get your bank accounts prepared lmao. I will absolutely be continuing on with this series!
I liked this one a lot more than the other novella. It answered all the questions I had at the end of the first one, like what happened to Sean's brother, why was he Alpha now and the binding ceremony. I really loved how Jem came into her own in thei short story and how Sean won the hearts of Jem's mother and sister. Now all we need is a short about what present Jem was constantly seeing in her dreams when Sean bites her. It is their second time together so it would be cool to see how that time differs from the first and third, especially since it seems Jem doesn't want ot become a werewolf in that time period.
